The son then proceeded to change the sedation treatment after I had already signed the forms and was hooked up to EKG and oxygen. I caught the switch before the operation went through and after Dr Eckert's son pushed back on me and I decided to walk out of their office. I've since been to another oral surgeon and that dentist said that only one wisdom tooth needed to come out and the other three had complications due to their proximity to facial nerves, that if damaged could cause facial paralysis. None of this information was given to me at my consultation with Dr. Eckert and I went in expecting all four teeth removed. What Dr. Eckert did was careless, unprofessional and unethical. I'm glad the procedure did not go through otherwise the son could have caused long term damage had he not had the experience to do the complicated procedure on the upper wisdom teeth.

Sitting at home (33 miles away) less than three hours after extraction of a wisdom tooth that Dr…read more Eckert described as "fractured, with deep roots, near a nerve and very close to an existing crown" (in other words, he gave me every possible warning about what could go wrong), I am ASTOUNDED at how seamless and soothing the actual procedure was, both in regard to the extraordinary care taken by his staff---shoutouts to Lillia for her compassionate scheduling efforts, Kristina and Katrina for their impeccable teamwork---in preparing me for the procedure, and to Dr. Eckert's astonishingly smooth performance of the extraction. His calm, engaged manner, always answering questions, and checking in about my comfort, made the experience that much more meaningful. The caring, empathetic professionalism of these folks reminds me of the Michelin (restaurant) Guide, in that they colloquially rate restaurants as "worth a stop," "worth a detour" or "worth a voyage." I felt that this experience was entirely worth the journey.

Ok, let me start with my complicated Orthodontics history…read more This is my 3rd time getting braces (ya, no kidding). My first braces experience in elementary school was with Orthodontics students due to budget concern -- of course that didn't go well and they started me on a second round treatment right afterward. The supervising dentist at the time even told me that I didn't need retainers. So after getting into my 30s, my teeth alignment is out of place again. Now I have open bite. So I decided to do braces again. I went to 2 other orthodontists for consultation before choosing Arlington Orthodontics. One was widely referred by colleagues but her practice was too far, and her quote wasn't as competitive. Another was way too pushy in selling their service and even told me they can expedite the process from 20 months to 14 months. If you know something about adult teeth, you never want to rush your Orthodontics treatment. It can cause the root of the teeth to shrink, which can result in tooth loss. Dr. Lind green was the only orthodontist who spent the resources to take dental X-ray and 3D scan of my teeth among all these consultation, and free of charge. He spent a good amount of time to explain how prior ortho treatment shortened my tooth root, and how he'd adjust treatment to me. He was honest up front that I may not be able to complete treatment should they find my root shortened to a dangerous length. (He said he'd X-ray my teeth to monitor treatment). I chose an honest orthodontist, knowing that I'd be in good hands. No other ortho has taken the time and patience to explain to me. After all, I am he one paying for the service! Oh, the reclining chair, AC, and music makes a good short nap during my braces appointments. Haha.

Upgrade more issues…read more Dentist. Lindgren also deliberately made my top teeth wider than my bottom teeth, resulting in misalignment. Now, all four top teeth have root canal issues, and the cost to fix this is over $20,000. On top of that, he used an intense light that left dark spots on my lips after drying the glue. It seems he did all this intentionally, with these problems only becoming apparent years later. I recorded all my visits and can provide proof if necessary. Dentist. Lindgren falsely claimed I cursed his staff, which is completely untrue. If I had, I would ask him to specify exactly what was said and to whom. I urge him to do the right thing. This behavior is unprofessional and immature. Dentist. John Lindgren and his wife, both highly educated and quick to defend themselves, seem skilled at deflecting criticism rather than addressing the real issues at hand. Despite their credentials, their behavior throughout my treatment was unprofessional and disrespectful.

BEST ORAL SURGEON IN BOSTON! Dr. Lucca and his team are…read moreabsolutely amazing- this is the place to go for anyone wanting a wisdom tooth extraction ! Consultation: I originally booked an appointment with a place downtown in china town, which when I went the doctor at the other place was rude and unprofessional- in a desperate attempt I googled another oral surgeon closer to me- which is when Lucca came up- I called the office (calls are answered immediately by a real person) and they were kind enough to fit me into the schedule the same day for a consult. Actual consult was quick, the treatment plan was explain thoroughly, all my questions were answered. The staff are incredibly accommodating and genuinely friendly. Pro tip: Have your dentist send you your X-rays and referrals by email to the office or to you so it is handy. This is needed for any oral surgeon to see you. Insurance & Price: I have blue cross blue shield which did cover some of the extraction price. Your medical and dental insurance combined may both cover you for treatment. & the remaining balance of the treatment price is paid at the surgery visit. They help you check your insurance as long as you have your group number/policy number etc. They called me 2 weeks before the appointment to let me know how much i would have to cover out of pocket. Extraction: I had all four wisdom teeth removed and I was in and out of the office within 35 minutes. I had the procedure done during the 4th of July long weekend and the doctor was accommodating enough to check up on my recovery during the weekend. I had TMJ pain before the extraction and we assessed that the procedure would trigger this a bit, I had some additional discomfort due to this and on 4th of July and the doctor was available for me and attentive to my needs/recovery- you can't find this kind of service and hospitality anywhere. During the week of the recovery the doctor & staff allowed me to visit the office 3-4 times to check in on my recovery. Even though the discomfort was not related to the procedure they still assisted me with this instead of sending me to another office- which i appreciate so so much. Absolutely everything about my experience was exceptional. Using Dr. Lucca's office for my extraction was the best decision I could have made.

The consultation was billed to my dental insurance and I received a reimbursement (without the co-payment amount). Next I had to get a procedure. I was told the same thing. First I pay upfront, then they bill my health insurance, which will reimburse me. Yes, they may have said they are out of network but they did not tell me to call my insurance first to approve the procedure. When time past by and I did not get the reimbursement I checked with my health insurance and the claim was denied because it was not pre-aproved. Shouldn't they have told me I should call my insurance ahead of the procedure? Don't they deal with insurance providers all the time and should know of the steps? Or were they concerned the claim was going to be rejected and they did not want my business to go somewhere else where it was covered? Hum.... They make you sign a lot of legal papers that they say explains everything. By the way, after the procedure the doctor did not fix my problem and told me I could go see another doctor.
