DO. NOT. GO. HERE. I have hesitated writing this review for a while but I really feel like I have to. I got micro-bladed by Marissa 2 years ago. I truly do not know what happened but they looked so awful. My two brows are completely un-even, she plucked all my hair out and made her own shape for the right brow, completely different height and length than the left brow. I also have a huge BLUE, thick line on my eyebrow. Whenever I don't wear makeup people ask me what the hell is going on with my eyebrows. I love my brows! I have been to Marissa three times: once for the full treatment, the follow up and then an annual touch up. Marissa was thorough when asking me about the shape and color I wanted and did a great job shaping and numbing them prior to the treatment. She is also great to talk to and makes you feel comfortable. The salon is modern and clean with comfortable tables which is great since the microblading takes over an hour. Like others, I was on the fence about getting microblading as well. My sister had it done in Cali and raved about it. I researched here and there and decided to wait on it, until I got a recommendation on a local Facebook group page from someone else who got it done here and had excellent results. I immediately booked an appointment and received the discounted $405 rate for paying with cash instead of $450. On appointment day, she made me feel really comfortable. Her studio is small and quaint, but tastefully decorated and clean. It is located inside a salon that rents out spaces inside. Parking is not an issue as there are plenty of parking spots available in the lot. She started by putting a layer of numbing cream on before sketching my eyebrows. She said the second layer of numbing cream would help ease the pain better once a "wound was open" or after it cuts into my skin then the cream would have a better effect. Throughout the entire procedure, I was in agonizing pain. She must've put numbing cream on 3-4 times after each 3-4 rounds and each time did not get better. I have a half sleeve, full sleeve, and tattoo going down my thigh, and this microblading pain was more unbearable than getting inked up. I could feel the crunch and slice in my eyebrow each blade stroke she did. I had to take a break because it was so painful. After it was finished, I called my sister and told her of my experience and my sister said it wasn't supposed to hurt like that. Initially it will, but it wasn't supposed to be that painful the entire ordeal. After it was finished, we made a follow-up appointment and I booked it into my phone calendar and she did the same in her phone. The day before the appointment, I sent her an email confirming my next day appointment and she replied and confirmed. Follow-up appointment day, I made sure to numb my eyebrows with a lidocaine I bought myself before showing up here. The lidocaine cream I bought definitely numbed my eyebrows more than what she was using on procedure day. I showed up, eyebrows numb and all, and she had another client. We talked about the miscommunication in the appointment schedule and she said she wouldn't have booked it this early and showed me on her phone calendar when I last got it done and said she must've mis read my email confirmation appointment when replying and confirming the appointment. I wouldn't have been as annoyed if she didn't make it seem like it was my fault, especially when I took steps to confirm the appointment. You'll see in my pic that she microbladed my eyebrows unevenly. One is rounded while the other is arched. And the arched one has a swipe going down at the beginning which I now have to use makeup to fill it in with the rest of my eyebrows. Thought I would be able to avoid using eyebrow makeup after getting this done, but that doesn't appear to be the case. So I went to a different microblading specialist (who's been doing it for 10 years) and asked them if they could do the touch up and fix my eyebrows. They examined me and told me they would not feel comfortable doing the touch up and fixing it because then it would reflect on their work. Basically, they didn't want my current eyebrows to be a reflection of their work because my eyebrows don't look great. They also said I shouldn't have been in that much pain as I described. They told me best bet was to wait until the ink faded all out and get them redone correctly. I told them I understood and thanked this other specialist. Now I'll have to wait it out, but next time I'll be going somewhere else and to someone else. Everyone has a different experience. This review is based solely on my experience alone. read more

I had two appointments with Marissa- an initial microblading appointment and the one month touch up. Marissa was very meticulous during the initial visit. She used a brow ruler to draw out the eyebrows and took the time to address any concerns and tweaks that you may have. Once you're fully committed to the shape, she swatches some ink on your forehead to determine the best shade. Some numbing cream is placed on the brows and then she gets to work. The first pass through the eyebrows were a little uncomfortable but she puts on additional numbing cream between passes so there's no virtually no pain afterwards. After she's done, she sends you on your way with some instructions, cleanser and lotion for your brows. The touch up appointment is much faster since she doesn't need to map out the brows. She'll point out areas that are looking sparse and will focus on filling those areas in. After this appointment, annual touch ups are done. I'm currently five months out from my touch up. My brows have faded just a tiny bit but it's not that noticeable for me to start using a brow pencil. The strokes are mostly there but since I have oily skin, they are not as sharp as they once were. I've read that a shading technique may work better on oily skin but I prefer the look of hair strokes so it doesn't bother me. Overall, I'm extremely pleased with my eyebrows and plan on returning to see Marissa for follow ups. read more

I have pretty nice eyebrows naturally but there were a few spots that weren't as full as I would have liked so I decided to do the microblading. It was by far one of the best decisions I've made! Nothing but good things to say! I got my eyebrows microbladed by Marissa in May 2019 and had my touch up appointment in June. Marissa was very thorough in explaining the process, working on creating the perfect shape for my eyebrows, and detailing post-procedure care. I felt completely at ease and trusted her every step of the way. After my initial appointment, I was actually ready to go a bit darker with the color and fill in the upper arch on my brows a bit more. Marissa was able to show me what it would look like by penciling in additional hair strokes. I went for it and the result look great! Now that my brows have been healed for about 2 months, I find that I have less up-keep, because I have a guideline for what I should actually be plucking.
