updated review as promised. I've had my lips done 2 weeks ago now and had my first hydra-facial…read morewith Anna yesterday. I'm super happy with both results! My lips look very natural but have just that little bit of extra 'oomph'. Michelle knows exactly what she's doing. She took plenty of time to let the lidocaine cream numb my lips. I find the treatment quite painful (and I normally have a high tolerance) so this is very much appreciated. She then works quick and efficient but still very meticulous and precise so there's minimal pain with maximum results. Afterwards my lips were swollen for a few days naturally but no bruising at all. In short: I have the exact result I wanted and would highly recommend Michelle for lip fillers! Besides being a pro she's also super personable and fun :) As for Michelle, I can't say enough praise for Anna! She's so knowledgable about skin and tailors your facial exactly to your needs. No cookie cutter treatments here! I had a hydra-facial but she added in a few other techniques to maximize the affects of my treatment. My skin is glowing and feels so soft! I'm getting married soon so wanted to add in micro-needling but Anna advised against it saying my skin is too delicate and just doesn't need it. She assured me we can get the best possible skin for me without heavy treatments. I appreciate her honesty a lot and value her not trying to up sell me on something I don't need. She's genuinely concerned about me and my skin. Anna is also super personable and fun and I had the best time while in her chair! I feel like she could be a real friend.

I have been getting botox for 20 years with excellent results. I have always gone to a skilled…read morecosmetic physician to have my botox. However, I recently moved to Boston and after reading good reviews about SkinDeep Med Spa I decided to give it a try. I went to see Michelle Cory (a nurse injector) I explained that I wanted to reduce forehead wrinkles and crows feet but wanted to look natural. While getting my injection, I noticed that Michelle was not as careful as my previous providers while injecting. She also gave me more units of botox than I usually get. Several days later I noticed my left eye had started to droop. Droopy eyelids (called ptosis) are a known but rare complication of botox. It can happen if the toxin (botox) inadvertently spreads to the muscles that are responsible for lifting the eyebrow or the eyelid. This subsequently weakens or paralyzes the lid and gives the droopy eye. This (droopy eye) occurs if the injection is too deep, too close to the muscles, or the dose is too high, all of which are due to clinician error. This complication will likely last eight weeks. It appears Michelle injected the botox too close to my eyebrows and also likely gave me too much botox both of which led to my droopy eye. I went back to see Michelle with my complication and she admitted that this had happened before to her clients. She prescribed some drops which unfortunately, are not very effective. Other than that, she was no help managing the complication she caused to my eye and has not checked in with me since the incident occurred to see how I was doing. I am now out $600 for this procedure, and look quite disfigured. I read online that it is very important to choose a medically qualified, skilled and experienced injector who understands the risks of the botox procedure and will approach new patients with caution to decrease risk. Michelle (at SkinDeep Med Spa on Newbury Street) was not careful and likely lacked the clinical experience/training to avoid my complication. As I said, I have had botox for 20 years without complications. I will be reporting this complication to the FDA but wanted to share my experience so that others may avoid this issue. Think twice before booking an appointment at SKINDEEP MED SPA for botox as complications can be serious, disfiguring and even life threatening. I will be going to a board certified plastic surgeon or dermatologist for all my future botox.

Honestly such a weird experience. Just moved here and needed Botox so I made an appointment.... The…read moresecond I walked in the front desk just made me uncomfortable. My injector was was also just weird. Made me uncomfortable and kept trying to sell me other procedures and I had to repeat myself maybe 5 times explaining all I wanted was Botox, but she just wasn't getting it and I was getting really frustrated. When I was checking out they told me I needed to schedule a three week follow up. I told them that was unnecessary, I would call with any concerns. They were pushy and wouldn't let me leave until I scheduled. When I kept insisting I didn't want the appointment the owner even made a snarky remark "have you even ever had Botox?"..... They ended up making the appointment and I canceled over text.... They then immediately asked me when I wanted to come back for my Botox. Never said I wanted to..... 24 hours before my canceled apt I got a text telling me to confirm and saying I would be charged if I didn't show up.... Thought I had cancelled? They were just rude, pushy, judgmental and made me uncomfortable. No shot I go back

I had an unpleasant experience with this business. They attempted to move the appointment to a time…read morethat was more convenient for them and when I was not available. I told them to cancel and I would reschedule based on my availability. I then 24 hours later receive an email with confirmation with the original time, instead of the cancellation. By that time, I had made alternative plans but because this was 24 hours before the actual appointment a $75 charge was required to cancel. When I arrived, the technician was forceful and slimey with her business dealings. When I told her this was maintenance for previous treatment performed prior to moving to Boston, she proceeded to insult an entire city of people as though they were low class. They verbally quoted one price and wrote a different price in contract. When I corrected them, it was given a rebuttal and then ultimately changed again when I declined the service. This lets me know they make up pricing on the fly and based on who is in front of them. One service I wanted to save for another day, but she insisted on performing the day of consultation (to get the money) even though I did not have time. She then made up another day for me to come back and told the scheduler to schedule me at that time, even though I did not request that time. I think they have unethical practices and I will not be returning. I will fly back to my original dermatologist and aesthetician for better service.

TL;DR: I spent over $17,500 at Finesse for liposuction that completely failed--and was left with…read moresevere scarring and zero results. I had an unsuccessful liposuction procedure with Dr. Shektman at Finesse. During my initial consultation, their salesperson, Kim, assured me that the procedure would dramatically improve my postpartum body. Based on these claims, I spent more than $17,500--with no positive outcome whatsoever. After the surgery clearly failed (which Kim, Joanna, and Dr. Shektman all acknowledged), they offered me a Morpheus8 treatment, claiming it could correct the skin folding caused by the liposuction. They said they'd "only" charge me an additional $500. I agreed, hoping to improve some of the damage done by lipo. That treatment was performed by their esthetician, Rachel--and it made things significantly worse. Six months later, my abdomen is still covered in severe scarring (see pics). When I sought help, they insisted I come in for a five-minute evaluation by their nurse, Joanna, and esthetician, Rachel--neither of whom has the medical expertise to handle the kind of deep tissue scarring I experienced. Dr. Shektman's only recommendation was hydrocortisone, which is wildly inappropriate for subdermal scarring caused by a failed RF microneedling procedure. The bottom line is: I'm not wasting more time listening to cosmetic "professionals" who are clearly out of their depth and caused the damage in the first place. I've waited nearly a year to write this review, hoping that someone at Finesse--Dr. Shektman, Kim, anyone--would take responsibility and at least offer a partial refund. That never happened. I was misled about what results I could expect, and I now have permanent scarring and an even greater financial and emotional burden. I've since seen two board-certified dermatologists and spent even more money trying to fix the damage done by Dr. Shektman and Rachel. I feel betrayed, taken advantage of, and deeply disappointed. Please--do not trust this place. They'll say whatever they need to say to close the sale, but once you've paid and signed away your rights, you're on your own. The results don't matter to them. Your health and satisfaction don't matter to them. Ironically, I've had substantially better results using Semaglutide (Ozempic), which cost $400--not $17,500--and helped me lose 30 pounds in 5 months. No scarring. No lies. No emotional trauma. I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone.

Oemgeeeee ya'll, SKOAH, my holy grail skin sanctuary, is BACK open in the South End and this glow-up is personal. I've been a Skoah OG since the Chestnut Hill days lol yes, baby, I'm telling my age and my skincare wisdom. I've been getting facials before y'all knew what a pore was! So boom, South End location closed for a minute, and I was devastated. Like, almost tears devastated. But babyyyy when I tell you they REOPENED and the new owner is none other than my original esthetician, Sofia? I almost did a praise dance right there in reception. I felt like the prodigal daughter returning to the land of smooth, hydrated skin. Now listen, Sofia couldn't do my face this time (I forgive her, barely), but she handed me off to Dijana (pronounced Diana), and the girl SNAPPED. My skin was so snatched and dewy I walked out the room like I had just signed a skincare modeling contract. Lol, ok a tad exaggerated but my glow was top tier. I got my service in my fave room. And yes, I do have a favorite treatment room there as well. Don't judge me, judge your T-zone. From check-in to check-out, they treat you like skincare royalty. No pushy product sales, no awkward upsells, just vibes, chill music, and a facial that will have you questioning why you ever strayed. It's CLEAN, it's PEACEFUL, and it's BLACK-GIRL-APPROVED. I'm not a member right now but babyyyy that membership is calling my name back to the club. If you go (and you BETTA), tell them Shaleah sent you. Then text me so we can compare glow levels. 10/10. Highly recommend. Would let them steam my face every day if I could. I miss you Sofia if you see this!
