I received a confirmation email that stated the Trolley was going to pick us up an hour before the requested pick up time so I called them. An older man picked up. I kindly asked why the time was an hour before and he stared yelling over the phone that this is Boston and during rush hour so the trolley needed an hour to get to the church. I asked him why he was so worked up and he just angrily shrugged it off and we concluded our call there. Day of the wedding I had my best man confirm one more time by calling him and he yelled at my friend as well saying "I've been doing this over 25 years". Sir, we don't need you to yell or tell us how many years you've been working there, just a simple yes for the time we needed it would suffice. Besides the Initial frustrations the trolley itself was very spacious and the driver was amazing. We booked for 3 hours, but was told just days before that we'd need to end 15 minutes early due to their afternoon booking, and then were rushed from leaving our ceremony location. We had a full hour left of our reservation, and only a 20 minute drive back to our final location, and yet one hour before drop off time we were pressured to depart. The trolley driver looked very unprofessional, was not very friendly, literally only drove to and from and was not accommodating with our drop off request for our mobility impaired guests. Though all of this didn't really register with me until we arrived at our final dropping point. The driver walked off the bus while passengers were still exiting, stood next to me (the bride) and said "so who will have my tip?" Not only unprofessional, but not even a "hope you had a good time! Congrats" or any such thing. She then proceeded to count the cash tip in front of me and my exiting guests. My only regret from my entire wedding is tipping the full 20%. The 3 stars are for Jessica and the communications team during the planning, and the party bus in self was lovely. Overall it was the same service I'd expect from the MBTA bus, but that's only $2.50

In addition to being the office of over 40 nonprofits, it also has meeting space available for other nonprofits to use (you do not have to be a tenant). I've been to meeting here sponsored by Tech Networks of Boston, Women in Development (fundraising), The Communications Network, Public Relations Society of America, and Third Sector New England. The event space is great, but my one warning is to triple check the microphones with the nonprofit center events staff if you have speakers. About half the times I've been to events there, audio problems occurred, so I always sit in the front to be sure I can hear. I'm jealous of the employees of the nonprofits in this building! What a lovely place to work!

To my delight, the photo booth ended up being the star of the show. I couldn't have been more pleased with my purchase. There was a steady stream of party goers eager to get their candid photos taken to document a fun night with friends and colleagues. And with their flat rate pricing, I was able to encourage people to use the photo booth as much as they wanted without worrying about extra fees. Not that they needed any encouragement the booth was slammed all night and till this day it's still a topic of conversation from the party attendees. The booth was top notch. Comfortable for two and with the privacy of the lush black curtains, I felt like a kid at the boardwalk arcade snapping a few timeless memories. This isn't your grandfather's photo booth though. Sure it prints out 2 photo strips within seconds of your pose, but it comes complete with large a color LCD display, video recording capabilities, email, and even the ability to post photos directly to facebook! This booth is first class. The booth alone was worth every penny, but what made the whole process a joy was the jovial owners of the company. From the very beginning of the transaction they were a joy to work with. They accommodated my schedule and needs, showed up early and left once the party had cleared out; even though they could have left earlier per our contract. These guys really had an interest in making my party awesome. You can tell they love what they do and love making people happy. Their prices are competitive but that type of service is priceless! I've already made arrangements to have them at another event. This time I'm going to take advantage of their custom branding on the photo strips. I can't say enough good things about this company. I had my wedding reception at the George Dilboy VFW Hall on August 1, 2009, and it turned out…read moregreat. My husband and I had a small budget for our wedding, but wanted to find a place we could celebrate with about 75 people that would be close to our neighborhood. I had made all of the arrangements with Pat, the Manager of the VFW, and she was a really nice older woman who helped with the contract and getting the caterer set-up. I think we paid about $300 to rent the hall for 4 hours, and we put a deposit of $250 for the cash-bar, which is refundable if your guests spend at least that much through out the night. There are also hooks all along the walls that you can use to hang things for decorations, but there are limitations on what can be put up, or taken down, since it is a VFW. The hall is surprisingly nice (I didn't know what to expect for a VFW) and there is a small stage at the front for the DJ. They also provide standard round tables, rectangular tables, and chairs for events, at no extra costs, which was super nice. There was a good size bar at the back of the hall, with reasonable prices for drinks, and a small kitchen that the caterer could use to prep for the wedding before hand. The only thing I wish was that the hall could be entered from the front of the building instead of the back, because the front entrance is quite pretty, but the back entrance leads to a darkish hall-way that smells of cigarette smoke permeating from the bar downstairs. Once you are inside the hall, though, everything is great, and the price can't be beat, since it's close to public transportation and has plenty of parking in the lot out back.

There is a Ladies Auxiliary and Associate Membership. EDIT: Better late than never edit responding to ST, There is no one in our front office named "Paul". This was brought up at the meeting held after I saw this review as well and there is no Paul on the Board of Directors or in any command/leadership position that is ever in the front office. Furthermore, they are not working to bar non-pro war groups from marching. The first review smacks of some sort of troll/wank. I am female, a veteran, a full fledged member and I attend meetings and am part of the voting process at this post. And I have to say, I'm pretty pissed that this crock of BS is still on here.
