Picked up take out tonight and it was awesome. I placed an order and was told 10-15 minutes. I arrived early and was offered a sweet tea, while I waited. It was great. The chicken tenders were very moist and tasty. Fries were good, but the queso Mac and cheese left a lot to be desired. It was lackluster and didn't have much flavor. This place has a pretty simple menu chicken (wings and tenders) and beer. Their beer selection is huge. They even have some exotic flavors. The wings are good, but I liked the tenders better. The are huge and flavorful. The key is picking the right dipping sauce. The Boss and mustard sauces are my go-tos. I also had the onion rings, which are the flaky kind. I love those but they are hard to find. ANd I toped my meal off with the brussel sprouts. They tasted like they were grilled/roasted...mmmmm. They have a private parking lot in the rear of the restaurant and street parking is available as well. The service there was top shelf. Will is awesome. He ran that place like a boss (no pun intended). You can sit at the counter or they have a few tables. I really liked that they had free sweet tea, while supplies last. The only negative that I have is that it took a long while to get my food and it looked like others in the restaurant had waited a long time as well. However, to speed things up they do take online and phone orders. I recommend checking this spot out, especially if you are a beer conigseaur. I can't say I'd drive 45 minutes for most restaurants, particularly those that are order-at-the-counter style. This place is very trendy, and although not super quick like Chipotle, it's well worth the wait. Upon ordering, you're asked for your name. There were three in our party as they were beginning to get busier. We ordered and within about 20 minutes my name was called. A few minutes later, my name was teller again, "Ross, how's the food? Everything good?" Yes, the food was amazing but I was sweating my *ss off from he level of heat I asked for for my dish. All three dishes we ordered were thoroughly enjoyed and even when walking out the door, "Thanks Ross, have a good weekend." It wasn't just me. Everyone was treated like this. The food was massive in portions and the flavors for all three of us were impressive; all choosing differently. I gotta say...these gals know their way around a chicken wing! For a fast-casual type of spot, they've got a really good thing going here. Menu is simple and straightforward, and their style of wing preparation leads to a juicy inside but crispy outside product. All the wings are brined, then baked, then fried...coated in excellent (secret) seasonings. A bunch of us in our large group decided to share combo platters, more bang for the buck given the price and quantities of food. My buddy and I got wings, tenders, queso mac-n-cheese and fried brussels sprouts. Others let me taste a few of the other side dishes. Meals also come with complimentary iced tea. Although the wings come "dry", you get several sauces to choose from, perfect for creating your own level of wetness. The sauces we tried were the jalapeno buffalo and the lemon dill ranch...mixing them together was a great combination of heat, spice and tangy coolness. Their chicken fingers were also fried to perfection and some of the juiciest I've ever had. The lemon dill ranch was a great sauce for these fingers, but they really didn't need it, if you like to go that route. Sides I tried and liked were the fried brussels sprouts (tangy and slightly chewy), queso mac-n-cheese (oooey and gooey) and the thick, fresh cut fries (perfect seasonings). I cared less for the cole slaw (zippy, tingly on the tongue) and onion rings (ratio of breading to thick-cut onion was off, in my opinion). As mentioned earlier, free tea is a nice touch and the unsweetened peach version was refreshing with a hint of peach. Combo platter was plenty big to be shared by two people, as you can see. Splitting the combo made for a very affordable lunch...did I mention they are now open for lunch?!?!? Score!!! read more

This is the only place to go if you're looking for wings. The wings have consistently been hot and fresh every time I go there. Don't miss the homemade ranch which has a nice dill accent. The other favorite sauces are ckeveland gold and the g-parm. The question Mac and cheese is probably their best side, if looking for something a little lighter, the homemade slaw is a good choice when available. Workers are chatty, friendly and happy to be there. The non sweet peach tea is perfect to was it down. If you're a beer lover, you could spend an hour just looking through their selection. read more

The Boss has been fully redeemed! My first experience with them was a pretty rough take out order, my 2nd experience was a much improved takeout order, and my 3rd was simply splendid. My boys and I met one of my best buds here for some food because he remembered just how great their tenders are and he had to have em. I agreed that I needed to give them another try and I'm so glad that we did. We started with a couple beers, a water, and an orange soda. I had my eye on this crazy sounding tiramisu porter, but they were out and offered a chocolate & hazelnut pastry stout instead. I accepted and it was pretty darn good. Too rich for any more than one, but one is what Daddy needed. Bud also enjoyed the same beer and boy 2 dug his orange soda. Then came the grub! Bud got the chicka-parm with a side a Mac n cheese, I got the chick-royale with cauli greens, boy 1 got the big ass order of tenders n fries and boy 2 got the smaller order of tenders n fries. Everything. Was. Awesome. Luckily boy 1 even had enough left over to take home for another meal which makes the cost easier to bear. One hitch was they shorted boy 1 his 2nd fry, but big Boss made it right by offering him whatever menu item he wanted and boy went for a bottled soda. Boom...order restored. I also want to comment on the energy and atmosphere this place brings. I enjoyed everything from the 80's music playing overhead, to the pumped up crew gettin the job done with hustle, to the way they greet their customers and help them remember things they leave behind. first of all nowhere to park just randomly lots across the street or parking on the street. Had to drive around the block a couple times before finally finding somewhere to park ..Damn, that was a waste of time drove all the way there from an hour away got there around five. The place was completely full and the doors were locked and they weren't letting anybody in... you could just see people in their eating and standing in line ..Pretty sure that's a fire hazard number one ..& nobody even acknowledged ..Then tried to call to at least order carry out and they put us on hold for over five minutes...‍ probably everything is good... Great customer service, and extensive knowledge of the menu knowing what was gluten and vegan friendly. The plant based cheesy cauliflower was delicious and the wings were ok. I'm sure had I selected a different dry rub/sauce combo they would have been better. The restaurant seemed to be a great hangout for locals, and they serve local beer. Many of the customers were known by name and that personal experience makes any local restaurant/bar a winner. When looking for a new place to try I always turn to Yelp. Sometimes I am utterly amazed after a dining experience...and this definitely one of those times. The one star is for their Mac& cheese the rest was just down right horrible. First the wings, it's pretty sad when you would rather have the " semi rubber dominos pizza wings" than this overly burnt hot mess even the sauces couldn't give moisture to these, dry as paper towels, meat. The coleslaw, literally the most tasteless, in the line of slaws, I have ever had the best part was the apple slices, yes you read right, apple slices in a slaw but was literally the best part. Grandma's slaw from your local grocery store would be an upgrade. The brussel sprouts, so burnt they mostly crumbled when penetrated with a fork and they were 50/50 between burnt and bitter. The best way I can I can describe them is, imagine if you will, sitting down to a plate of burnt wood from a fireplace with a little added bacon. The only three things that were even close to a worthwhile purchase would have been the loaded fries which my wife gave an 8/10 and the Mac & cheese which I gave an 8/10 and the tenders 7/10.This will be amongst my, one and done, places to sum it up in two words....absolutely horrible. read more

The setting is a beer and chicken place in a local college town. Thankfully Boss does a bit to set it a part from the competition. The place actually has a little bit of a diner look to it and you order up at the counter. Menu isn't too deep, but trying different sauces and sides could be a positive. Also they have hot chicken ! They do have beer as the name implies for those wondering... The food is rather good. I had a macaroni and cheese topped with chicken strips, bacon and some tangy mustard sauce and my girlfriend got just strips. We both enjoyed the chicken and even had some to take home. Overall I feel this would be one of those cool places you wish you could afford to eat at more often in college. Thankfully I'm no longer in college so I will be coming back here again for the hot chicken or wings sometime. read more

Mac n cheese is a must. It is ooey-gooey spirals of cheesy rotini topped with tenders bathed in the gold and boss sauce. Certainly the top performer of the menu. I was super happy my friend likes to share because I would've hated missing out on this. Meaty chicken wings, hearty tenders, seasoned well and fresh fried were also ordered. They serve their sauces on the side in 2oz cups and they bring the flavor. We did the gold and the boss sauce and both were up to the challenge. The complementary sweet tea and unsweetened mango tea mix really well together to bring the crumbs and seasoning down to ones belly. I thought it a nice little feature to include these drinks. Onion rings and Brussels sprouts were the recommended sides by the hostess taking orders at the bar. I give the Brussels sprouts a thumbs up. Roasted and flavorful.
