But the $10 per pound wings were similar quality to that of Pizza Hut. Overly fatty and chewy at that. Please get better quality chicken! Pros: Great food and a variety of options for the picky eater. Massive beer selection. The menu is almost entirely gluten free. Unique and flavorful wing sauces. Cons: Wet wing fans may not like having to wet their own wings. Seating is a bit tight so it is not ideal for large groups. Recommendations: My recommendations are.... 1. The Wings: Ordered by the lb they are well seasoned and come to you fresh and hot as can be. Combine with one of the many tasty sauces and you've got something great. 2. Sweet Potato: a whole yam stuffed and seasoned for the perfect blend of sweet and savory. 3. Chicken Tenders: If want breading on your chicken this is the way to go. Duuuuuuude! This food is dope! The chicken wings are huge, and flavorful all on their own, but the dipping sauces are bomb, too! I had the jalapeño buffalo, and the lemon dill ranch, and they were both superb! The Cauliflower Mac and cheese was so tasty, I wish the queso sauce was sold by the barrel so I could dip my entire body into it! The complimentary unsweetened peach tea is refreshing, and a nice touch. Well fuckin done! The friendly dude with the man bun behind the counter isn't bad to look at, either. Just sayin'. I have visited Boss ChickNBeer 4-5 times (including take out) and have loved everything about it. Their chicken cooking process is unique and yields great results: first they brine, they they bake, then they fry. This yields very tender, extremely flavorful wings even without sauce. The dipping sauces are great as well. The lemon dill ranch is tart and zippy for those who like mild, and the cherry habanero is searing without sacrificing flavor for heat. The sides are also excellent, from the perfectly cooked fresh fries to the beet salad and superfood slaw. They also have excellent local beer from Platform pairs perfectly with their wings. Today was the first time my husband and I got a take out order from boss chicknbeer. I'm sorry to say the food was horrible. My chicken fingers were dry, tasteless and the meat was stringy which made it hard to eat And I only ate 1/2 of one tender. We ordered 2 orders of onion rings and out of the 2 orders 3 onion rings were ok to eat and all the other ones were burnt, too hard to bite through and went in the trash. We ordered the Brussels sprouts which were definitely over cooked and not tasty. My husband ordered the wings and said that they were good but that we would not buy food from Boss ChickNBeer again. We did not like the sauces we got either but I realize that is a personal choice. All I can say is for spending $47.00 on take out food we were extremely disappointed. Interesting place. No frills and limited seating but worth the wait. The wings are very good! Crispy, good sized with multiple sauce choices. We tried the boss sauce and New Cleveland gold. Overall, really awesome atmosphere and the people were nice and guided my sister and me through the whole process of how the restaurant works. My sister is vegetarian so she got the fried caluiflower and tofu and I got the wings. All the food comes with the sauces on the side and then menu jokes you'd have to pay $100 if you want your food tossed in the sauce. My sister's dish was good except the tofu was a bit too soft. My wings were really good at first but then when I got to the more meaty ones I felt a bit sick (that could just be my own preference). Also, I was fine with dipping but it seemed a waste of plastic for everyone to have separate plastic containers. Also, I couldn't really dip my wings in that tiny container which was really annoying because I'm a big dipper. We also got the queso mac n cheese and that was pretty good. We visited based on a referral and it was so much better than we were expecting. First, the customer service was so inviting. As a first time visitor, we felt like regulars with the charisma of the I believe the manager Wil (I hope that's the correct name) took the experience to a whole new level, not just how he was with us but other guests too. Put a big smile on our face. When we received our order, we were so taken back. The display served was so awesome and we practically didn't need any sauce they were so good. We immediately sent pic and "must visit" to family and friends before even leaving. Then Wil helped us decide what to drink and it was spot on so a simple lunch turned into a whole experience that we just loved and appreciated. Prices are exorbitant given the serving sizes. I ordered the vegan basic chick sandwich - $12-$13. On the smallish side with no...side! A tall can of local beer was $7. So, about $20 for a small sandwich and a can of beer. It was OK, but, not worth another trip. One of our party members had the side of Brussels sprouts - tasty, but, greasy from the deep frying, which is why they were tasty. Again, on the smallish side. Yes, the menu is limited. However, the restaurant is called ChickNBeer, how much more can you expect? The chicken tenders are massive and very juicy. The batter was light and crispy, but fell off pretty easily. If you expect fast food or fast casual (think BWW, Applebee's, Wendy's) style chicken, you wont get that here. Went in as I was craving some wings and the wings here are fantastic but I just cannot keep coming back when the service is not so good. The last time the staff was slow but they had a lot of take out orders so I forgave it. However, today I walk in to only 2 customers at the bar and no one at the tables. I sit at the bar and wait to get service. No one even acknowledges me. About 10 minutes go by still nothing and someone walks in. The person behind the bar then rushes over and helps them with their order still not even acknowledging me who was there first. I got up and walked out and now I have no intention on returning. If the wings are brined, baked, seasoned 3 times and then fried, I thought they they would be super tender and flavorful. Instead I found them tough and with no flavor. The fact they make and include a sauce with your order, but won't toss them is annoying. Seems to me they are just saying the wings don't need sauce as an excuse to be lazy. The wings were the meatiest and highest quality we've seen in a long time. WAY better than other wing or take out joints. Not a fan of the cherry habanero sauce. The heat was fine but the flavor not so good. I'd prefer traditional Buffalo Wing sauce. Also the sauce comes on the side and the side was tiny. Not enough. My biggest issue with this place is that it's over an hour from my house!! The food was great, as well as the beer. Not a whole lot of variety but when it's that good, don't need much. Good beer selection, really good sauces, but my chicken tenders came out raw in the middle... They made me a new batch and then had ME check if they were still raw, which I thought was odd and a little unprofessional. The first regular wing I had was really good, but the second one I had was tough, didn't even eat all the meat on it. There is obviously a problem with their oil or cooking times... The jalapeno mac and cheese was really good, onion rings were just ok. When we got the bill, I was hoping she maybe took something off for almost giving us food poisoning, but no, not even the 50 cent extra sauce we got. Just came from BOSS Chicken and Beer (forgive me if I got the name wrong! First time there lol)- Not overly excited by it. It seems really clean from what I saw, the servers were truly friendly, our chicken wings/tenders however were just okay. Hubby is a big wing fan and agreed, just okay nothing phenomenally special. Lack of beverages other than beer and ice tea didn't work for us, but knew that going there! ;) It definitely has a very hip vibe which us older fogey folk lol aren't as into, but that's what happens when you are in your 50's lol!
