Best restaurant for paella in Barcelona. Restaurant is rustic and warm. Service is outstanding and very friendly. A friend leaving in Barcelona recommended it to me saying... "the place is unpretentious and out of the tourist seen" prices are incredible. We ordered a few things like tapa de chorizo picante (very good), Greek salad... skip it... and the mix paella for 2. We were 3. But I would say... order for 3 because you will not be able to stop eating this Paella. It is Delicious! The rice itself is so creamy, flavorful and tasty.... the socarrat... ufff. This paella was also full of seafood, pork, chicken and even meat. Just incredible. Do come here... but please don't tell anyone else about this place... we don't want it to change.
We had a full schedule so we decided to take a nap and woke up passed 9pm. Read that Bosque Palermo was open late till 2am so we hurried and got there around midnight (prevcovid times). I found out that the owner happened to be Filipina so that made me an instant, distant younger brother, from another father (hahah). It's a Filipino thing. I even got to practice my Tagalog, in the heart of Barcelona. I have to say for being open late - I was very surprised how good their paella was. It was very fresh and so tasty. Huge portions also especially the giant prawns. I had a local Catalan beer that was suggested by the owner but couldn't remember the name. It was really refreshing and excellent. We'd definitely come back here when we return to visit Barcelona when things settles and it's safe to travel again. Cheers!
The best paella and spaghetti I've had in my life, for my first meal in Spain, this spot hit soooo good. It hit top tier Spanish food for me and so close to all the major sites. Definitely recommend checking out this spot for your next Barcelona visit and make sure to order the 4 cheese spaghetti. They do speak English here as well and service was great.
One of the few spur of the moment places we popped into and thoroughly enjoyed. Waiter constantly checked in and provided superb service. Didn't have expectations for 10euro paella but this would be my neighborhood spot if I lived in Barcelona. The baby squid provided a delightful burst of flavor and texture!
Today is Monday and we arrived here around 930 PM. Crowded but there were seats available for two, so we were promptly seated. This review is only based off of the mixed paella which consists of seafood and meat. Coming in, we knew that the serving is going to be a lot, so that is all we came for even though we were sOo tempted for other things. She let us know that the paella would take about 25 mins, and asked if we wanted any appetizers while we waited. We kindly declined and ordered a liter of sangria to sip on. It did take about the 20-25 for it to arrive, and I must admit it was the best paella I've had anywhere and the best I've had in Barcelona. We tried to do our best to lick the pan clean, and so we did. Left feeling 10 lbs heavier but it was def worth it! If you're looking for the best paella I highly recommend trying it here! Don't just stop by any spot because paella's are everywhere. Don't fall into the tourist trap!
The most amazingggg Paella here. We met amazing people at dinner since the place is so intimate and they also enjoyed their dishes. Nearly everyone ordered a paella. Different kinds and no complaints. We were so satisfied with our choice. All of the wait staff was friendly and attentive. They all helped each other. We ordered the Caesar salad, seafood paella, cava & red sangria, & ice cream bars. Would absolutely recommend.
Visited Bosque Palermo for lunch while in Barcelona. They're open until 2:30, not the normal 1/1:30, so it gives you some extra time before siesta. They were really busy, and because of this the staff didn't seem very friendly. There was also an issue wIth my bill, but they were happy to fix it after I caught the mistake. Would recommend the paella!
It's a place that was recommended to me by a person I trust, especially the paella . I'm guessing she didn't get to go to the best. I had the disadvantage of dining alone on most of my visits. They only make it for two. However, on one visit the table next to me couldn't finish theirs and shared. It was good, but not amazing. I had good jamon, prawns in garlic, squid, and many other dishes. Every one were good, but not amazing However, the whole "vibe" of the place, the friendly staff, and the mix of tourists and locals was really nice. I've eaten inside, at the bar, and outside. All have their pluses and minuses. If you are alone, the bar is great. You're also most likely to meet interesting locals there. Outside, on a nice night, is a great time. It's worth going to, but you can see from my reviews other places I'd recommend far more. I've been here more than my check-ins shows.
This place is NOT awesome as reviews everywhere suggest, so I assume people keep coming because it's one of the few Barcelona restaurants reviewed on Yelp. It also has tons of reviews on TripAdvisor. Everyone dining here was either American or speaking English, so that just backs my theory! We had the seafood and meat paella dishes, which were both pretty mushy. The complimentary bread lightly brushed with a mild tomato sauce/olive oil mixture was okay though, so I ate more of that than our actual entrees.
This place was great! We came here on our last night in Barcelona looking for some paella. We were not disappointed! It was so flavorful and perfectly cooked! Just make sure you order some tapas because it takes about 30 minutes to cook. We also ordered "a glass" of Sangria and oh my goodness it was huge! So delicious. The service was great, and the staff was friendly. It was a cute place, not oversized, and had a nice terrace outside that we sat at. We did call and get a reservation the same day and I recommend it just in case. Not always necessary but it's helpful especially if you come hungry.

Had the best Paella in Spain at Bosque Palermo! Found this restaurant on Yelp and the high rating is well deserved. Ordered some appetizers and the Paella Racion for 2 (20Euro, see picture, seafood paella, it fed 4 of us), and Parilla Pescado (18 Euro, mixed seafood grill. Both were very good but the Paella was probably the best I ever had. Came on Friday night at 8pm without reservations but had no problem getting in. They do take reservations and I recommend you do. Highly recommended!!!! read more

The food I ate here has to be in the top foods I had my whole study abroad trip in Europe! My boyfriend and I came rather late (an hour before closing), but the whole restaurant was full, inside and out. We waited about 20 minutes until we were seated and ordered the seafood platter and the seafood paella. The platter came out a lot faster than the paella (which takes about 30 minutes to come out). By the time we were finishing the first platter, we were already full. But the paella is a must! We couldn't finish everything so we asked if we can get it packed for takeaway. The wine here is incredibly cheap so we shared a whole bottle and I started feeling a little tipsy by the end of the meal. The service here wasn't the friendliest or fastest, but the food completely makes up for it! If I am ever in Barcelona again, this will be my first stop. read more

This place is amazing, I almost don't want to write about it so no one finds out about it but then I remembered that I don't live in Barcelona so it's okay to share with my fellow yelpers/tourists! Great prices, large portions. The paella isn't the best thing I"ve ever had but it's good enough. The service was great, the waitresses were friendly as with all people in Barcelona I feel like. The "fish platter" wasn't really a platter of fish but actually a platter of seafood! The house wine was only 3.75 EUR for the whole jug. Despite it being a little watery, it did its job. Maybe just get three jugs... Happy place, great good, what's stopping you from going? read more

Ate here our first night in Barcelona. We were staying in the area and wanted to stay in the neighborhood. Not a big place, but they fit you in somehow. The house wine is from a tap in the wall and is good for 3.75€ a jug!! We had the baby octopus, sirloin steak and then the sausage. I would recommend for sure to get the octopus!! read more

Perfect. This place is just perfect. Sangria, grilled seafood, paella--they all hit the spot. It's a Saturday night, so this place was crowded and we had to sit outside. It's still winter here, but it was okay because they big heaters near the tables. The sangria was probably the best I had here in my stay in Barcelona. It had the perfect blend of sweetness and spirits, without being too overwhelming. The grilled seafood platter is every seafood lovers dream. They were grilled to perfection and definitely not dry. And you can't complain about the price with it being about €16-18. The paella was loaded with mixed seafood and was so delicious. This place is a must-go for anyone visiting here in Barcelona. read more

This place has the best paella! Absolutely delicious! The service - not so great. We went there on a Monday afternoon, and the owner said we'd have to wait for 1-1.5 hours since the place is fully reserved, even though half the tables were vacant. When we told him that we called 30 mins prior to check if there's waiting and we were told it wouldn't be a problem, he said okay, and asked a waiter to make arrangements for a table for us. There was a small round table in the corner cramped in between the bar, the entrance door and an arcade table. The waiter put a tablecloth there and gave us 2 bar stools to sit. We were fine with it. But then, it took the same waiter 15 mins to come back and ask us for water! We placed our order at the same time. It took another 30 mins to get the order! To be fair, the guy behind the bar was nice and checked on us a couple of times, but our waiter didn't check in or give us any sort of update even once the entire time. I should deduct another star, but the paella, once it came, was delightful. I should also mention that when we left, more than 1/4th of the tables were still vacant. I'd still recommend you go to this place to for the paella. Hopefully you'll receive better service than we did. read more
Would you like some paella with your salt? Sooooo salty it burns your tongue. People love this place and we can't figure out why. Service was slow even by European standards. The people next to us were in love with this place and left us scratching our heads. So I don't know if this review is very helpful. I do know I've had paella before that was much better than this. Absolutely without a doubt the best paella I've had - and I don't even like seafood that much! The paella is for two people and comes with huge, fresh clams and shrimp among other things. Was recommended to visit this place by the hostel I was staying at and I was definitely not disappointed. A must try if you're in Barcelona! read more
The one thing I was looking forward to the minute i entered into Spanish property was to devour every grain of paella possible. But instead I decided to go to the best. I yelped for Paella and went to the highest rated location which was Bosque Palermo. This place is located in the La Ramblas area mixed in with a thousand other tapas and paella joints. It is a small mom-and-pop location. You walk in and you will see a small bar on the left with a small tapas station. To the right and back is the dining area. I ordered the seafood Paella and got a ginormous platter only to be devoured within 20 mins. Their sangria was very strong but that's how i like it. They also give you some bread to start but nothing special with that. Outside the restaurant are a few seats for outdoor eating, however with bugs and garbage and cars driving, it's not really the greatest spot. Plus you have a bunch of old regulars sitting there smoking half the time. Keep in mind that to get the best food you must go to the more rustic locations. I miss Paella now after writing this. read more

The baby octopus was fresh and very tender, definitely get that. Paella was very good as well, although the seafood in it was overcooked and my partner found it to be too salty. Wine is 2.25 euro a glass I was kind of grossed out by all the flies on the walls and flying around me but tried my best to ignore it. Overall, a great place to get some authentic seafood paella! read more

I came to Bosque Palermo based on a recommendation for good paella without all the fuss and away from all the tourists. I would agree with the last two parts of that statement. However, my nice waiter tricked me! I ordered what they called "Paella" in their English menu despite speaking primarily Spanish with him. *Sigh* That said, the other few dishes ordered were quite good especially the 5 euro foie gras appetizer! The salad, sangria and tomato bread were good too. Also, as is common in Spanish tradition, the locals probably won't come in until around 9pm for dinner. I'd go back BUT VERIFY that you're getting real paella... although what I got was actually pretty good. read more

We came here cause of the great reviews for their paella. We got the Seafood Paella and it was amazing! The waitress recommended the mussels as an appetizer and it was super fresh and tasty. Overall satisfying meal. Also we came here around 1pm and there was no wait. read more

Honestly, delicious carne paella. The only thing that stopped this place from having completely five stars is the slowness in service. Maybe I am not used to the slow service but the workers were really sweet as one of the waiters let me charge my phone in the restaurant. Keep in mind it takes 30-40 minutes for them to make the paella when you order it. It's definitely fresh and tasty, but a rather time consuming visit. So if you are short on time, I wouldn't recommend going here. But if you would like a nice and sweet and intimate setting with a genuine experience of paella, please stop by! read more
We arrived at around 9 and had to wait around 30 minutes for a 5-person table, but we were seated in a pretty timely manner in a nice table in the attic area. The waiter was super sweet and attentive (as long as you speak Spanish with him!). Pulpitas a la plancha (grilled octopus) was divine - tender, juicy, tenderly cooked. Everything else was a-OK: jamon iberico, calamari fritters, seafood risotto, and seafood paella. The risotta and paella bases were very well-done, but the dishes were overly salty and some of the seafood was not that fresh. Overall, a pretty good meal. Bill came out to around €70 after taxes for 5 for food + carafe of sangria. read more

Great food, great prices. Very popular with locals and increasingly tourists. You won't get a table for 30mins+ unless you book. We ate around 10pm on a Wednesday night. Every table busy with people waiting. Quality food, great value, best to order off the daily menu, the hand written one. (that's the food the chef wants to cook!). Super waitress made it a top quality night, plus meeting Matt & Charlotte (they shared their paella with me!) and we continued our night with them. The fried green chillis with salt are amazing, if you go for a main dish, they're quite light on vegetables, so best order vegetable sides. read more

Fantastic food and lively atmosphere. The staff is attentive although they can be extremely busy any night of the week and you'll have to fight for their attention. Food arrives quite fast even when they are busy. It's a little noisy inside and near a busy road outside but the food is fantastic and worth it. Seafood Paella is great and I've had it twice now. Consistently excellent both times. They recently remodeled and the place looks clean yet still feels local and with a family restaurant atmosphere. read more

You ever ate something so good that you thought your taste bud was tricking you so you had to go back and have it again. This is how I felt about this restaurant the food is absolutely amazing like I am actually sad that I'm back in the States and can't find good food like this but please go try it for yourself. You gotta try the paella and just tell them to keep bringing the house wine it's good and cheap. I also had the goat ribs which were good some of my party had the oxtails, which were falling off the bone, if you're a steak lover you won't be disappointed. I mean everything was good. read more

I was in this place last night and the experience was just fantastic. It was my first night in Spain so I wanted to try their paella. My husband and I ordered a paella for two (€20), it was a VERY good price compared to what you can find around. The bottle of wine was very cheap as well, so we ended up having an amazing "cena". It'd eat here again!! read more
The service was excellent (granted I did get there at 11:30 am on a Sunday) but the food left a lot to be desired. This was the only place I tried paella in and I wasn't too impressed. I got the seafood paella for two since there's a minimum order of 2 for paella, it was alright but I found it to be way too salty. The seafood itself was not very fresh. 4 stars for service and ambiance, 1 star for food. read more
