Ample indoor and outdoor eating options. Plenty of parking in the back. The whole menu looks delicious but I had to try the fico prosciutto panuozzi. I was told it would only be on the menu for another week because figs were going out of season. It was delicious! The bread they use for their sandwiches are made with their pizza dough so it was so fluffy and warm. The polpo was super tender and the sauce around it was delicious. Definitely has a kick. I had a great time and look forward to trying more things on the menu but the one thing I would say is that for $18, I do wish the octopus appetizer included more octopus. Grilled octopus is excellent. The portion is a little smaller than I would like but it was tasty. I would order it again. Amartriciana is very flavorful with a spicy kick. The chili is no joke for those with low spice tolerance (like me) but I love it. Roast pork sandwich - solid. Very generous with the roast pork with broccoli rabe in the roll (and the roll is freshly made to order!) I do wish the cheese is well melted into every part of the pork + brocoli rabe but probably just me nit picking. Gelato - the pistachio flavor is ok. Not the best I have had. Overall, I would recommend checking them out. I will def come back again and try other stuff on the menu. read more

I want to return to Boschetto immediately. From the beautiful interior that transports you to Italy to the absolutely incredible food - there's nothing not to love. the sausage pie was to die for. The flavors were so balanced with the homemade sausage to the lemon rind microplaned on top. I usually don't eat all my crust but I was eating every last crumb. I could not get enough of the spring pea carbonara (a special) - supremely creamy and tasty. The chicken parm sandwich was very tasty - the bread they use is the same dough as their pizza crust and it was so good. no dislikes. This fast-casual-ish Italian spot is a must go! read more

As all the reviews state, newest spot on the block. Right across from The Corner. Small yet has plenty of seating for groups (btw 4-8 ) people. No moving of chairs/ tables necessary here. The decor is a nice black and white minimalist vibe which I appreciate. I ordered the mushroom pie (called Funghi) and my friend ordered the polenta with shrimp. After ordering T the counter we were given a number and sat at a table. My friend's order arrived first and she definitely enjoyed it. She said it was quite delicious. My pizza arrived and frankly it's the first time I had mushroom pizza. I wasn't sure what to expect but I like trying new things so I dug in. The pizza was delicious! Very hot as the food is made to order. We sat, ate and chatted for a long time without being rushed to leave. The employees were pleasant and patient when we were deciding up to the time we left. Ryan (or Bryan, I can't recall) introduced himself and was personable. Not sure if he was the owner but he was quite kind and friendly. I don't think it's possible for there to be better Italian food in Montclair right now. Elevated and high concept. Not really even sure if anyone else in the area is on this level. Was given ample explanation of the menu when ordering at the counter which was incredibly helpful and maybe we got lucky but it seems the timing of ordering/food being prepared/getting a table worked out great for us and others on a pretty busy Saturday evening. The vibe is tight. The food is otherworldly. Had vitello tonnato--beautiful plate with lots of depth--and salsiccia pizza--great dough, lots of subtlety and depth in the flavors there, too. We finally got to try Boschetto for the first time. It's great to see a restaurant where the owner takes an active role in welcoming guests and sharing recommendations. The food is very elevated, not your typical smothered in sauce and cheese American Italian. We felt our meal was full of flavor and were taken back to all of our trips to Italy. Highly recommend the Milanese pork cutlet, perfectly fried. Despite the thicker cut, it was so juicy and tender. The octopus was perfectly grilled and sat on a delicious bed. First time here. Food was awesome. Didn't realize you had to pay prior to sitting. Because of this, we forgot to leave a tip for our lovely server. No place on the receipt to do so. Next time, we will make sure we don't miss that. Not everyone has extra cash these days so would have been helpful to have a prompt to consider a tip at payment. You know you can't even go to buy a donut anywhere without the machine asking if you want to leave a tip. Why doesn't Boschetto do that?Since I ordered the vongole with squid ink pasta, I asked for some bread to sop up the awesome sauce. It was only made to order and there is a charge, but the awesome guy at the order desk brought me some with his compliments. That was awesome too. Not so fond of the dipping oil. While I was put off a bit by the "Fast Casual" method of Seating Yourself and Ordering at the Counter - what came out of the Kitchen was Delicious and Well Presented! Service was Quick and Pleasant - they brought out our Waters & opened and brought out glasses for our Wine (BYO)! While the Weather was Frightful that night, we ate inside a Great, Well Lit and Modern Looking interior - nice Bathrooms too! While we walked to the Restaurant it was good to see they have Customer Parking Outside. Prices were on point IMO. I recommend the Polpo and the Fritto Misto as Apps, while we had the Mortadella Panuozzi and the Rigatoni Gricia as Entrees. Will certainly return to try to rest of the Menu. What a surprise! A great italian restaurant in a sea of mostly average fare. The concept is really cool. Love ordering up front and have food delivered to table. However, the food is delivered lightening fast and in no particular order. I think a way to remedy this is to order appetizers first, pay and be seated. Go back up again order mains.
