Three visits, and 3 service changes to fix one problem. Almost cheaper to get a new furnace

Yet when we called we were told that we would be charged a much higher price to buy it out. The salesmen was a con man, he provided misleading information. If you choose to deal with Boonstra carefully examine the contract for all clauses related to the buyout. And if the salesmen tells you differently have him write it down with his signature.

I called to have my ducts cleaned and then to have a free inspection of my home for air quality. The "technician" did not do an inspection but asked about my furnace, age etc. He came to the conclusion that it would be best to replace my furnace as soon as possible because of age, 16 years, to avoid a breakdown (which admittedly is possible). Then we could start talking about air quality. He started quoting me these exorbitant prices for furnaces (no A/C included), anywhere from $12,000 to $15,000 stating furnace prices have gone way up. He kept calling back for a few weeks before the scheduled duct cleaning even when I told him I am going to hold off purchasing one for now since we have an Enercare maintenance/repair plan and don't want to go into debt. His offer was a "deal" of around $11,800 for a $15,000 furnace. I investigated furnace prices and found out that the price of a furnace for my home came to about $5000 to $6000! I finally cancelled the duct cleaning out of frustration and feeling deceived. I thought calling a local company that has been established here for a long time with many positive reviews would be a good idea. Rather, it seemed that the salesman was likely deceitful and out to make $$$, trying to take advantage of a couple of older folks who he thought probably would not investigate what he was up to. Deplorable conduct and I will never use Boonstra to install a furnace in this house. I really wonder if Boonstra has inflated their Google review numbers using hired reviewers. I am very disappointed by this experience and I am going to update this review for a period of time so that it comes up first in the sort as the latest review allowing others to see it right away and they are not taken advantage of. Update April 2nd - I called Boonstra to inform them of my name, address, and the date, March 30th, that the duct cleaning was scheduled for and cancelled plus gave them the name of the salesman who came over. If I remember correctly it was Sean. The response by management of "they couldn't find me in their system" is obviously a fabrication to deflect the seriousness of this negative review. It is identical to how they responded to some other reviewers who have had negative experiences. A standard answer and shameful.

It is a deficiency from construction where the concrete slab is lower in that area and caused the toilet flange to be lower than the floor label and as a consecuencs the wax ring did not seal properly. Aditional to this, the plumber started removing the toiler with out infiorming the cost for this labour. The charges included in the invoice are rediculous. It is a total rip-off: The labour to replace the wax ring did not take more than 15 minutes. It took lomger because he had to do it twice because his lack of expertice. He selected the wrong wax gasted the first time and had to comeback to the supplier to get a new one and do it again, even when I noticed and told them why using the same type of ring the first time was not the solution. He should instead, add a flange adaptor or use a higher ring He replaced the bolts and the water line and the toilets bolts without the need for it He replaced the water supply line and when I asked why he did it if the other one was almost new and in perfect condition and his answer was, because I always like to do it. As you can see I was charged for 2 1/2 hours, including 1 1/2 hour of overtime at 200%. I suggest you think twice before hiring this company. When I called the company to discuss this situation, they were rude and when asked for a detail explanation, they accused me of been harrasing them Noel S

Absolutely the biggest scam of all time. Was quoted a price for 180 for the person to come out…read moresince it was after hours. The guy was here for about 15-20 mins and I get slapped with a 2.5 ot charge bill for over 530 dollars. I contacted the company and no manager and no one to talk to and was advised they charge for travel time. Burlington to Hamilton is not an hour each way not even close. They also charged a truck fee on top. So overall for 15 mins and nothing being replaced they charged 530.00. Definitely a scam company lying from the prices and inflating travel time and charging ot without telling you. Will be reporting them to the better business bureau. I noticed most of the positive reviews barely have any reviews so they're most likely fake. Stay away at all costs!!
