I was seen promptly, and the staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. Dr. Lindsay explained the lasik procedure, and told me the best time to get it (for discounts). They reached out to have the Lasik center squeeze me in for a consultation that same day, since I'm out of town, and are able to squeeze me in for an appointment when their office isn't open to be able to accommodate my far distance. Since we did not purchase the 1 year extended insurance, she wouldn't even discuss it. All she had to do was ask to bring them in to evaluate, but she didn't. All she did was insist no insurance no service. However, lab and/or manufacturer errors are covered for a year. She was arrogant, rude and dismissive. I called the store manager, Ryan, 4x to discuss. He never returned any calls. I called corporate to also no call back. Wal mart optical is not customer friendly and they seem to not care once they sell you glasses. Walmart owes us $300 to have new lenses made, but we're not returning to a place that treats customers like insignificant nothings. The entire company concerning this optical department is lacking in quality, efficiency, and especially good customer relations and care. I strongly do not recommend the Gibsonia walmart optical department. Spend an extra $100 and go elsewhere. I strongly believe you'll receive better quality lenses and better quality customer care. Your appointment could be at 9 am, but you won't see your Doctor for another 90 minutes. Their glasses shop has a nice selection, but they don't really help you find a pair that fits your face. I bought a pair of glasses there my first year and they were a bit big for my face, and I had to bring them back because they kept sliding off my nose. What prompted me to return to my old Doctor though was their billing. They sub their billing out to a company called Patient Bill Help. In October, I received a text from Patient Bill Help stating I owed $63.75, which I paid online. Two days later I realized I should not have owned anything, and I have been trying to get this resolved for three months. The individual(s) that handles the billing at North Park make assumptions on eye insurance. I had a few conversations with someone local in that office where they argued with me on what my insurance covered, this is even after my insurance company explained to them that I was 100% covered for both eye and contact lenses. The conversations were, literally, "eye insurance doesn't cover both contacts and glasses" and me informing them that yes, mine does, all they have to do is scroll down their screen to see (this has been confirmed multiple times by VSP representatives. The office never scrolled further down my EOB to see I was covered for both). I am now at the point I told Patient Bill Help and my eye insurance that I would suck up my lost of $63.75 as a lesson learned. If you don't mind long waits, get you glasses elsewhere, and have "standard" or no eye insurance, this place might work out for you. If you have premium eye insurance, or are use to getting retinal scans each year (I was never offered them at North Park) I recommend going elsewhere.

I had ordered replacement lenses online and was planning to pop them out myself...but when they arrived I was really struggling to get the old lenses out. I had asked a store in the mall once, and they would not do it. Knowing I was likely to break them myself if I continued to try, I stopped in to Eyetique to see if they would swap the lenses for me. The woman working in the store (Susan) was super helpful. She had the old lenses out and the new lenses ready to go in seconds. She even provided a replacement case from the brand since mine had long ago fallen apart. Five minutes fixed something I've been avoiding for months!

I said I don't care I would wait then I thought about why she was yelling. I would expect them only to take me after their scheduled appointment because I was late no matter the reason. Many hereditary eye diseases run in my family, and I feel very thankful that the optometrist Tim Smicker, OD examines my eyes here. During my first visit over five years ago, Dr. Smicker told me information that none of my previous optometrists had ever told me. He explained how my eyes were starting to experience presbyopia and that I do not yet need bifocals. He gave me an Amsler Recording Chart to use every other day to detect and monitor progression of macular degeneration. He also gave me a patient referral form and a list of ophthalmologists so I could schedule an appointment with a specialist for my retinas. Each year, I have visited this business to receive eye exams and to purchase my eyeglasses and contact lenses. My eyes get a little worse over time, and Dr. Smicker always finetunes my prescriptions so I can see as clearly as possible. The employees here gave me a trial pair of contact lenses to wear while I wait for my year-long supply of contact lenses to ship to my house. Most recently I bought 1.5 years of contact lenses for $534 after insurance (!). This year I decided to try progressive eyeglasses for my presbyopia. The employee kept telling me different prices, but in the end the actual price was OK, and they work better than my past single-vision eyeglasses did. My husband also receives eye exams and eyeglasses here. Dr. Smicker has correctly performed his eye exams, and the employees have helped him to select eyeglasses that look good on his face.
