I grew up eating at Birdie's and ate there recently for the first time in 30 years. It hasn't changed . Very nice, well cooked rib steak, well priced. Minestrone soup is same good recipe. Spaghetti sauce is unique, more of a brown gravy and not a red Italian style, has nutmeg and cinnamon so very different. Once you don't expect traditional red sauce it's quite good. My wife's Caesar salad was not very good and the tiny piece of overcooked salmon was dreadful. Stick to steak.

    Half-eaten Shrimp Cocktail... very good.

Nostalgia for my wife and I. Used to eat here about once a month in the late 70's. It was our date night away from the kids. We usually split a steak and seafood of some sort. Great meals and great memories. We did not like the brown sauce then, and sadly, it has not gotten any better. We tried apps for dinner...shrimp cocktail, fried raviolis, and the minestrone bread bowl. The shrimp was accompanied by an old-fashioned cocktail sauce that was very good. The rest of our meal was so-so. Oh well... we closed the book on another fond memory... more often than not, they are never as good as remembered.

I really liked that the sandwiches and sides came in two sizes which allowed us to try a little bit of everything. The rundown on my order: Buffalo Chicken Nachos: Nachos but with chips? Genius. Loved the Buffalo Cheese sauce the chips were smothered in. Tri-Tip Grilled Cheese: A good amount of heat from the chimichurri. A good balance of meat and cheese to remind you it's a grilled cheese sandwich with beef- not the other way around. Loaded Tots: The portion of this side was huge! I got mine with everything so it was a nice, tasty, sloppy mess of a side. If you find yourself off the main drag in Great Falls, this is a must-stop for some of the best grilled cheese you'll set eyes on.

We ordered the Tri Tip Nachos as a starter. The chips are made in house and the tri tip was on point. We ordered the "shareable" order and I think we could have shared with the entire restaurant and had leftovers!! My coworker ordered this weeks special which was the Chicken Cordon Blue Sandwich with a side of this house made potato chips. She stated that the chips were better with something on them, referring to the nachos. However, she loved the sandwich! I had the Capresi Sandwich with a side salad. The Ranch dressing for the salad was a little runny but had a great taste. I loved my sandwich and they had the right balance of basil and balsamic reduction. Don't know how they cooked this without making the bread soggy with the tomatoes. Fantastic meal tonight!!

The linguine was A*M*A*Z*I*N*G!! Buttery, creamy, delicious...edamame, spinach, chickpeas and chicken. Never had linguine served like this and it is the best one I've ever had. The ribs and fried grits are a MUST TRY! The savory glaze, that gritty crunch and the fall of the bone ribs are tasty! The Montanan cocktail was an added treat, it was a perfect blend along with the carrot cake we ended our night with! Service is impeccable! The gal who managed the dining area was quick to bring waters, take our order, deliver our orders fresh. And did so while the dining area was fairly full! The vibe in this place is fun and seemed like a popular spot amongst the locals. It is kept clean and well maintained. The patio area is spacious and dog-friendly. There is a bar area but we haven't made our way into that area yet. But we definitely plan to visit again and try other menu items! If you're in town and looking for good eats, this place will not disappoint!

They've got a diverse cocktail list that are all served in mason jars. Half of the restaurant is table service and th other half you walk up and order at they bar so just depends on the vibe you are looking for. The ribs I got the first night were fall off the bone (although not really the healthiest). The second night I came back on a Thursday and it was trivia night. The place was packed. I had my heart set on a salad I had seen on the menu just two days before....but they had changed the menu! I ended up with some broccolini and chicken which was also tasty.

Do you feel awkward parking at a hotel that looks like a total dump just to go upstairs to this bar? Yes, but you still should. I ended up going on my own, and came back with colleagues the last night of our trip as it's a must stop. As I'm sure we all know, what makes it fun and unique is the dancing Mermaid performances in the pool behind the bar. Such a cool concept to watch them entertain you while you enjoy a good drink. My first time in the bartender was fantastic and giving me all the history of the place, and how the pool used to just be the hotels' actual swimming pool, and guests would swim in it, no Thank you. I ordered the cranberry cherry limeade, not realizing that it was basically a bucket full of booze, equivalent to three drinks (not complaining, just forewarning) also enjoyed chatting with the bartender about how the place is haunted. Definitely gives off that vibe and total dive bar/tiki feel. I'd come back every time I'm in this town or on a road trip. 21+---although they allowed a few families to come in with kids for a minute and get a picture by the mermaids, which I thought was super cool. And yes, you can tip the maids too! I didn't get any food from the restaurant, but I heard from a few it wasn't amazing so I think this is just a dive drinking spot for me.
