We hired Borracho Tacos for our after-wedding late night snack at a hotel in Orange County. They had the most reasonable rates from the vendors I reached out to and also had a cash discount. The tacos from what I recall were pretty good, the bacon wrapped hot dogs were just okay (smelled amazing), and the Agua Fresca was fantastic. My issue with the service was that they were extremely slow. They were supposed to start serving tacos by 10:30pm. The first plate was not served until 11pm. My guests were standing in the rain waiting for 45 minutes for tacos....I felt so bad!! They also didn't come with lights for under their tent so the cook had to use his phone to see what they were doing. I recall I had a conversation with Tonya specifically to bring lights bc I wasn't sure what the parking lot would be like. The other downside was that Tonya wasn't super responsive. I was a little concerned this vendor would be a no show but I'm glad they did show up. It turns out she was receiving messages but just not acknowledging them, so to me it was a little worrying. The last negative was we did have to provide our own plates and disposables. Overall, I'm happy that we had tacos and that they were satisfying for drunken wedding guests, but I'm unhappy with the service speed, preparedness, and communication up front. I don't recommend going with the bacon wrapped hotdogs - it sounds fantastic but they were just okay and they were also a bottleneck to the process. I do recognize that it was pouring rain, so that must have played some factor. read more

I had them for a birthday party 60 people for 670 + deposit 50 came at 5pm, served from 6-8pm. Everyone said the tacos were okay. Al pastor was good. Had to pay extra for the carnitas $25, but sadly most my family said they were a bit too dry. Asada was okay, it lacked a lot of flavor. Personally, I understood what my family said because I love juicy carnitas and also some flavorful carne asada. My family also said the horchata and watermelon weren't fresh, we thought they were gonna be freshly made but it's the powdered kind. Lastly ran out of Cilantro and onion for the tacos, The beans they used were unfortunately Red beans/ Kidney beans. Good things were rice, salsa Also tip they don't provide utilities, plates, napkins, or cups. I am aware other taquerios don't do but they didn't give us a heads up when we put the deposit down. They arrived before their setup time , they cooked their meat on site AND made homemade tortillas (per request). We had asada, chicken and chicharron and all of my guests were satisfied. They also made quesadillas and brought homemade chips which were great! The package I got also included rice, beans and agua fresca which were all SOOO GOOOD. The bad reviews are REAL. I learned my lesson for giving them the benefit of the doubt. I originally booked for 75 people, a month before the event I decided to make it 100 people. We came to an agreement and my updated invoice wasn't sent until I requested it which wasn't a big deal but I mean.. why not have a set contract. Whatever, Anyway, today was the day of my event. We agreed on 2pm arrival to serve at 3pm they arrived at almost 2:30. Let me start by saying that when I tell you I paid for 100 guests, Im expecting a lot of food. Long story short, I paid a thousand dollars for a SMALL tray of rice and beans and the "agua fresca" was so SMALL I wish I would have taken a picture of how tiny it looked compared to the regular agua fresca container my mom took as a back up. The salsas were provided in a small bowl that ran out within the first 10 minutes. (Mind you, not even half the guests had arrived yet when they begun serving.) the meats they provided for 100 people was a scam. They served late and left early. 3/4 of the guests got to eat because the meat had "ran out" Another thing, the guy who was cooking was burning the meat and scraping the residue and SERVING it with the tacos. I'll attach a picture because it's a see to believe thing. I found a separate Yelp account with nothing but bad reviews but I still decided to give them a chance. Of course, I would gladly give credit where it is deserved but definitely not here. ZERO out of 10 recommend. This was an expensive mistake but lesson learned. Book at your own risk. read more

With only one day before the lunch, I had to call them the next day to ask, but no answer, only a text reply afterwards that said "I sent last night". First off, I didn't receive it. Second, you don't know what I called for, how did you assume I'm asking for the invoice? Because you know you didn't send it? Very unprofessional. I never got the invoice. Had to cancel my order. Could not take a chance on them being late or a no-show. I don't know how this place makes money. I HONESTLY think it's a possible drug front. Local authorities should take a look at this place.
