Some of the best authentic Puerto Rican food I've had. Everything was phenomenal and our waitress was constantly checking in on us to make sure we didn't need anything else. They were also willing to make us drinks off the menu! Very close to La Placita and a perfect place to grab dinner before a night out.
Food was absolutely spectacular! Went with a soup of the day which was very flavorful and a great start. We decided to split the steak Mofongo which was a perfect size for us and then the coconut flan was the dessert which we also shared. The only downside is the service is a bit slow and it took a while for the food to arrive. But live music made the wait worth it
On a recent trip to Puerto Rico, we tried many different restaurants. This one was our favorite. We went for lunch. It was crowded with many locals. We started with Medalla Beer. We then ordered fried calamari, an avocado salad that we so fresh. We also ordered the fried pork chunks. They were the best i have ever had. I would absolutely go back to this restaurant. I wish we had something as good here in New Orleans.
Ate here on my second day in Puerto Rico and it is hands down the best food I've had here for my entire stay ! Very welcoming and friendly. Live music was so good! The waitress suggested an appetizer which was the sweet plantains with lobster steak filling. This was the best thing I ever tasted. The sauce that came with it was so creamy too. For entree we split skirt steak and coconut rice with fish. The steak was cooked to perfection. I never had coconut rice before and I couldn't stop saying mmmm while eating, loved every bite. Also definitely get the side of vegetables sautéed they were amazing and went well on steak. If I come back to Puerto Rico I will definitely be dining here again.
The rice was not bad but the codfish was wayyy too salty. I attempted to change to chicken but waited way too long for them to cook a grilled chicken breast. So opted to leave. They didn't charge for the codfish but the service wasn't great. They were surely shortstaffed because they closed right after we left and it was midday. I wouldn't say they are the friendliest either. Not a place I would revisit.
All around good vibe and food! Near a lot of bars so good place to hit up. The service was friendly and the food came out a reasonable amount of time for how busy they were. The Mofongo is very filling! Tasty, but heavy and great to share. The Codfish was my favorite. If you like codfish (Bacalao) then get the soup! It's fishy in a good way with texture and different from other fish soups that I have had.
On my last day in PR, dropped by for lunch with my best friend around 11:30 on a Tuesday. The area in general was fairly empty so she and I were the only ones dining in. We ordered the plantain-crusted chicken breast with tostones and the chicken gumbo (asopao de pollo). The food took a bit to come out but it was well worth the wait. The crunch on the chicken breast was perfect and the breast stayed moist. The depth of flavor in the asopao was awesome and I just couldn't stop eating it. They cranked up the music when we got there for ambience. I'm sure when it's later in the day, that place would be packed. Certainly would return and hopefully when folks are hanging out and with more activity. Buen provecho!
the gumbo is 10/10 comes with a side (their sides are fairly big), the risotto was a bit cheesy i'd describe it like clam chowder had a baby with mac and cheese, the fish wasnt my favorite but im not huge on fishy foods. Service was fast and nice and the place is a bit small but has a nice family vibe with music playing.
With patience comes great things. We were seated immediately on Dia De Los Reyes here and the food was incredible! For Puerto Rican standards, the service was on it. All the food came out HOT and fresh and they were very attentive. Also, there was live music. Sure we waited about 30-40 minutes for our main meal to come out, but I ordered the seafood soup to start and oh man - what incredible flavors! The live music also helped pass the time. We ordered seafood soup, chuleta kan kan and bistec empanado en Platano. Highly recommend all of these for classic Puerto Rican flavors!
This in La Placita! The food was spectacular, fresh and delicious with loads of flavors. The Steak Mofongo was so creamy and delicious with garlic sauce! The ceviche was fresh and seasoned to perfection. The shrimp/crap tacos were so rich in flavor that you must go and try it yourself! I'm really missing the food! The server had great recommendations and we got them and I will admit she was 10000% on point! The ambience is loud as it's outdoor/indoor seating but this area in general is all about night life.

My friends and I were so happy to come here as part of our friend's Bach trip! We loved everything we ordered, including the plantain-breaded grouper fillet, the breaded chicken breast, the churrasco mofongo, and the seafood gumbo! read more
When we sat down and started looking at the menu, everyone at the table but a bit tentative and we considered going somewhere else. Thank god we did not because the food here was absolutely amazing. I'm not a high fan of mofongo, but the garlic shrimp mofongo made me a convert, it was amazing! Also the dish with the plantains, shrimp and steak bites covered in cheese sauce sounds crazy, but the leftover bits were nearly fought over by everyone at the table once we all tried it. The service here was also outstanding. The server was very patient with us and very down to earth and personable. read more
When in Puerto Rico, find the good food. We wanted to have a bite and people watch at la placita and we decided to try this spot. We sat outside even though the humidity was not good for the hair lol. But in Puerto Rico you sit outside it's just the vibe. We ate the steak mofongo which was sooo good. And their avocado salad pairs well with it. We also had the croquettes de bacalao. I would definitely recommend this place to eat if you're hanging out at La placita. read more

Really good service and food. We had steak mofongo with a side of rice and beans. It was really good. To drink we had a sangria and a coconut mojito. The mojito was really well made. We also had the coconut flan which was already really good. #puertorico #laplacita read more

the gumbo is 10/10 comes with a side (their sides are fairly big), the risotto was a bit cheesy i'd describe it like clam chowder had a baby with mac and cheese, the fish wasnt my favorite but im not huge on fishy foods. Service was fast and nice and the place is a bit small but has a nice family vibe with music playing. read more

We went there Thursday night the place was packed but still found a table they had live music great atmosphere the food was great the prices are reasonable unlike other restaurants and the best service I got in San Juan definitely will be going back read more

All I'm going to say about this place is... if I could get the veggie mofongo with ajillo (garlic sauce) again.. my life would be complete. I still think about that dish. I've eaten mofongo at 4 other restaurants and nothing NOTHING compares to how amazing the one here was. Do yourself a favor, stop reading my review and go try it. read more

This spot was a little restaurant found on an outing at La placita en Santurce. The gentleman that was serving us recommended and it was AMAZINGGGGGG!! It's a whole red snapper fried with seafood rice and salad. It was soo good we came back again before leaving PR! We ordered it with a side of Sweet Plantains. The serving was big so definitely good to share and even left overs. Definitely have to visit when in PR! read more
Everything my sister and I ate here was extremely delicious and cheap!! We shared fish tacos (large portion!), arepas with shrimp, and a side of mofongo (which was big enough to be very filling). Everything was amazing and I wish I had room to eat more. We were there on a night when they had live music, which was a little loud but they were great! I'd definitely come back here again on another trip to Puerto Rico. read more

If you're looking for amazing Puerto Rican food then you can stop reading and head over here right away. This place will not disappoint you. It's small and for what I can tell they do not take reservations. But if you can get in, you will want to come here a lot to taste the rest of the menu. I was blown away by the service and the amazingly fresh cooked food. I've been to many so called "good" Restaurants, and most of the chains, and more known places do not have fresh food, and the service is way too slow. Those places value quantity over quality. But I'm a foodie, so when I found this place it was like finding a gem. read more
It didn't look like much on the outside, but we had an amazing lunch here. We started by sharing an order of ceviche. It was really good, perfectly citrusy and very flavorful. Based on other Yelp reviews, we ordered the coconut rice with fish. Our server told us it was a large portion, so we decided to share along with a side of platanos maduros. It was indeed a HUGE portion. The rice was phenomenal, almost like a risotto in its texture with chunks of fished mixed throughout. I can taste it writing this review. I was a little skeptical in ordering it because it sounded unusual and it was really hot outside, but it turned out to be a great tropical dish even in the heat. We definitely can't get food like that at home. We had a bunch of drinks as well and watched soccer on their tv for a while after we finished eating. It was definitely a casual atmosphere, which we enjoyed. I'd definitely go back. read more

Located in La Placita, this place has good drinks as well good food. I had the churrasco mofongo with chimichurri. Meat a little tough but tasty and the rest of the mofongo very good. Service was prompt. Went on a Friday night and the drawback was the trio playing, so loud in a small area. They were good but couldn't talk to people right next to me. read more

We originally wanted to go to another restaurant in the area but when they ran out of food, we stumbled on Boronia. We started with sangria and a mojito and my husband LOVED the mojito. The sangria was pretty good too, though nothing to write home about. We ordered the fish taco appetizer and it was the hands down the best fish tacos we have ever had. I am not exaggerating one bit. I would love to go back and just order the fish tacos. For our entrees we got the chicken mofongo and lobster risotto with a side of sweet plantains. Both were top notch. The lobster tail was huge! We wish we could've finished our plates but we were so full we didn't even have room for Flan. This restaurant had live music which was beautiful. The service was great and we will definitely come back next time we visit. read more
