I love buying flowers, specially for special moments throughout the year, and I knew I needed great peonies. In the past, I've worked with other florists around Chicago, and while all positive experiences, they've all entailed a mixed bouquet as opposed to only have peonies (even though that hadn't even crossed my mind)! Enter Bordo. Going through their Yelp page (where I initially found them), their photos were clearly beautiful. Once I went onto their website and realized I could get a full bouquet of peonies, I was sold. The ordering process was seamless, and I communicated with them via phone a couple of times where they gladly answered my questions and confirmed the delivery window. Come day of delivery, I got a photo of my actual bouquet that I still show every single person I talk to about it. They looked incredible and you could even zoom in and see the water droplets on the petals. I mean, talk about taking care of them right before dropping them off (they also came in a water box). They bloomed beautifully, changed colors naturally and lasted longer than we expected. The text communication was great and the quality of the flowers was amazing. We were all floored by how vibrant and beautiful they were and how worth it they were. Now I'm in trouble because my wife wants them year-round. read more

Bought flowers for a bridal shower. Got the 50 rose bouquet and was great. Looked beautiful, flowers frwas slightly better priced than other florists that I looked at, and bigger than normal bouquets. Talked with the florist before buying and got a rundown of the delivery, how to care for them, and bouquet recommendation. Didn't go with the 100 cause we were taking pics. One critique though is if you're thinking of ordering for the weekend plan to get them one day ahead. The delivery timing was a couple hours later than expected but I'm sure if it wasn't the weekend it would be on time. Will definitely buy again from here for my future wife. read more

I ordered flowers online on February 5th for pickup on February 14th for Valentine's Day, anticipating that the shop would be busy. When I arrived, there were about five customers ahead of me. A young lady approached and asked if I was there for a pickup, to which I replied yes. I provided my name and showed her my order confirmation email. I had ordered the Passion Petals Bouquet for $110. She informed me that my order wasn't ready and that it would take 10-15 minutes. As I waited, I watched others pick up their orders. After about 30 minutes, an employee from the back brought out a bouquet and called out a name, but no one stepped forward to claim it. The girl assisting me took the bouquet, handed it to me, and said thanks. When I looked at the flowers, I immediately noticed they weren't what I had ordered. The bouquet was missing red roses and other key elements. Unfortunately, after waiting for so long, I had to leave to pick up my kids from school. Attached, you'll see a comparison of what I was supposed to receive versus what I actually got. Bordo Flowers failed to have orders ready on time and did a poor job fulfilling my purchase. I looked up by hashtag #chicagoflorist and a picture from Bordo's instagram was one of the results. It immediately stuck out to me for being such an incredibly beautiful arrangement to the point, I thought it was a catfish. I looked it up on Yelp and saw scarce reviews and again felt nervous but when Googling it, I saw more reviews I came to realize it was legitimate. I'm dead serious, it was so gorgeous, I didn't believe my eyes. I'm so glad I didn't just write it off as being a catfish. I ended up ordering last night and asking for a rush to be delivered today within a certain timeframe and they absolutely delivered on all ends. I called this morning when they opened to confirm my order and then they texted me a picture of the arrangement when it was ready, to make sure I approved. It was GORGEOUS and again, I worried what they sent a picture of wouldn't be the end result my friend received. Just because it was too perfect. They then called me to let me know when it was on its way to be delivered. My friends were amazed by the arrangement and sent me a picture and it was indeed exactly like the picture they sent earlier. The flowers looked untouched even though it went through delivery. I'm absolutely impressed with the professionalism, commitment, quality, etc. Admittedly they are very expensive but so worth it considering the hard work they clearly put in. I am very happy with the flowers I ordered as well as the customer service. Kristina was great to work with; we talked about what I would like and could afford and she sent me a photo and explained that it would not be exactly like that; but I could request some particular colors and that she would send me a photo when it was ready. She followed through as she said, and also added the special flower I wanted even though that usually is with higher end orders. She made sure that the recipient would be there, which I appreciated. What was especially impressive was the delivery person, who told my friend that she was receiving something really lovely and he hoped she would remember the thoughtfulness of the gift, think of the person who sent it, and, "Oh, she needed to smell this flower and wait that one, as well." She said that his enthusiasm was infectious. My only disappointment was the $20 delivery charge--I believe my friend was about 10 minutes away.
