We had a family member pass away,and was one of our elders in the family,our Westcoast family was not able to attend so we decided to send flowers for our support,we went online and seen this florist, he was in that area and also the flower spray we pick was under his category , ( pic 1) we called we wanted a few extra details which we did not mind paying for, he said yes we can do it no problem, so we were happy after the phone conversation we went ahead and proceeded to order, mind you this was $132 floral spray . The flowers were delivered to the funeral home and this (pic 2) is what they sent, nowhere close to what we decided yes it had the ribbon we ask for but where are the flowers ? I unfortunately lost my brother recently. As I was trying to find a florist I went to Water Lily on Higgins in Norwood Park and was treated so poorly with the utmost disrespect!!! I in turn called Bellmonte and spoke with Kenny he was matter of fact on the phone. When I arrived there and shared with him what just happened to me at Water Lily. He sat me down and was so kind and patient, helped me pick out all the arrangements. He shared stories of the differences he has made in people's lives in their most difficult and wonderful times. In the past month I have unfortunately needed the service of a florist for flowers at a funeral twice. I called Belmonte's because it was close to the first funeral home. I spoke with a gentleman who's name I have forgotten and explained my needs. We discussed a few topics, flowers,colors, cost, type of arrangement etc. He assured me that he knew what I wanted and that he would take care of it for me. Did he ever!! A beautiful arrangement, I was, and am quite pleased. Last week I unfortunately need them again. Once more, I spoke with the same gentleman who's name I can't remember. Over the phone I explained what I had in mind. This was for my Brother-in-law. A WW II Marine combat veteran. Once again I was told he knew what I wanted and would take care of it for me. Another beautiful arrangement with a cross and Red, White, and Blue flowers tasteful displayed!! I cannot speak highly enough of this florist shop. The service was spectacular! Prices quite reasonable. The flower arrangements discreet, respectful, and lovely. This is the florist shop that will receive all of my future business. Albert did the flowers for my wedding and bridal shower and I couldn't have been happier with how they turned out. They were beyond gorgeous and better than any pictures I would have been able to find. I wasn't sure what type of flowers or colors to use for the flowers aside from the wedding colors, so I left it up to Albert's expertise. He made gorgeous centerpieces, bouquets boutonnières, and corsages that I got so many compliments on all night (and that continue today!). They made the church and reception hall truly come together into my dream and made it look so elegant. He does an amazing job at a reasonable price. Fair warning-- he does not have any kind of beautiful store front. When you arrive for your floral consultation, you may wonder "what am I doing here?" What you soon realize is that you are meeting Albert in his real work space! In fact, as you are speaking with him about your ideas, he will actually bring you to the back and start pulling flowers together. The man is a straight shooter and comes off more like a typical Chicago butcher than a florist. But, he is a true master at his craft and is willing to work with each bride in adapting her ideas. The florist called me and to let me know they didn't have a plant I ordered online for same day delivery. He made a suggestion which kept the elements I wanted and the result was much more beautiful than what I originally ordered. I would definitely use these guys again. I've had horrible experiences with ordering online in the past, especially from out of town. But Belmonts exceeded my expectations. Their website is easy to navigate and order. I ordered an orchid for my mom for Mother's Day. Had planned to have it sent on that Friday. Hadn't heard about it all day and I called to see if she got it. She said she never received it and didn't hear the door all day. When I called Belmont they said they attempted but no answer and didn't want to leave it on the porch step. I agreed. They said they would have it out today and would make sure to call if no answer this time. She received it Saturday afternoon atill in time for Mother's Day Sunday. Sending a woman flowers is tricky- I've used proflowers and they come in a box, hidden fees and major assembly required by the recipient, which kinda defeats the purpose of sending them. Anyway, these flowers arrived as scheduled, looked better than the Internet photo and they were delivered with the ceremonious unveiling that surprises, delights and evokes a bit of jealousy from the other women in the office, which, lets be honest, feels a bit good. Albert told me never to order on line, but to always call. Because they have to give Teleflora 25%.... I replied that's why I'm calling to confirm you have the particular vase. I read him the description and gave him the Teleflora number of the specific floral arrangement I wanted. I was horrified to pay $89.60 for something that WAS NOT similar to what was pictured on line, I had described, and what I was promised! Tried calling several times, no one picked up. Would love to post the flowers side by side so you could understand how embarrassed I was that what was thrown together in a different vase was actually delivered to my husbands secretary who had just had her 4th chemo treatment. Ordered flowers for my aunt's funeral on Thursday-Thanksgiving Day. I received a call in Friday morning- the day they are supposed to be delivering the flowers-stating that the church location was too far South. This put me in a predicament trying to find a florist who can deliver the same day. Their website does NOT stipulate what zip codes they service. My husband wanted to surprise me this morning with a dozen tulip arrangement and all he got was 6 tulips and a forest of greens for almost $40. The worst part is that he didn't notice till I unwrapped them how horribly they were arranged. (A package of 6 tulips in plastic and a dozen or more of greenery that doesn't belong to any floral arrangement) This is probably the worst floral shop ever. read more

I had a terrible experience with Belmonte's Florist. I ordered two weeks before the event for my wife's birthday present but they gave me a crap about the delivery schedule. They were suppose to deliver a flower in an office which usually has an 8-5 pm working schedule. I called them 4 times just to update about the time of the delivery. They keep on saying that the delivery guy was on his way... When I asked for the manager, they even lied that Mr. Belmonte was not in his office even you are already talking to Mr. Belmonte. I don't know about their crap reasons but the flowers were delivered to my wife's office past 6pm. My wife need to wait for the flowers so the element of surprise was gone and the inconvenience that they've cost to us... So think twice before you use them for your special event. read more
