My favorite brewery in Tucson by far. They have so many fun flavors, some that I can always come back to and others that I can try for the first time with a flight! It's a great spot to hangout before or after an even downtown because it is so close to so many things. From what I remember, you might have to pay for the nearest parking if the few spots in front are taken up. We have come a few times for the trivia, and the atmosphere is great, but we had problems with the trivia website/app that they were using. They often have local music groups playing music on the patio and also sell some small art pieces inside. Also, the taco truck connected to the side is fire. read more

It started when we first walked in. We were not greeted, and the bartender seemed annoyed that we were there early. We placed our order, which was chips and salsa for starters and two smash burgers. The bartender put in the order, and I asked her if I could have two sides of ranch. She told me she thought she had already sent the order but would go over and let them know. Not once did she ask if I needed anything else. If she had, maybe my order would have been complete when I first placed it. While waiting for a while for our starters, which normally come out before the meal, she never mentioned that everything would come out together. We then told her that we wanted to cancel the chips and salsa, and she said, "Well, I don't know if you can get a refund. I will have to call my manager." She came back and told me it was all good. We went to pick up our burgers, and not once did she ask if everything was okay or if we needed anything. I went to close my tab and wanted to use my gift card, and she told me I couldn't use it at that location. This was one of the worst experiences ever. read more

The beer was great, staff was friendly BUT, you shouldn't advertise that you're a kid friendly place without a children's menu and if you're kid friendly, let the kids play with the games. There was a sign on the yard jenga that said "Adults only". I chose this place on a long car trip because it said it was kid friendly and we (the adults) like a good beer but the last thing a parent needs trying to enjoy a beer after hours in a car is to be charged $15 for a grilled cheese for a kid who may or may not eat it. The staff and beer were great though, I'd go back, just not with my kids. read more

Great place to host an event due to the spacious outdoor setting which is surrounded by trees. The parking is mainly from a nearby parking garage which is only a 5 minute walk away. Worth checking out their array of local beer and food. Highly recommend and will definitely be going back. read more

Borderlands has been a long time favorite. We are lucky enough to be able to call ourselves regulars as one of our kids participates in play performance next door once a week. They've expanded one of their side rooms to accommodate the sports watching crowd and have added a pool table. The beer is always evolving and one of my favorites right now is the La Miche with a tajin rim, it is a good take on the regional michelada. It is also nice that they have added margaritas to the menu. While I don't always go for that it is a nice change when you're not feeling beer. We have recently tried the tacos and they are a good pair to go with your beer. This is a wonderful place to take people from out of town to experience Tucson. read more

Borderlands has a wonderful indoor and outdoor space to enjoy a comprehensive list of beers and grab a bite to eat. I really enjoyed the flight of beers, particularly the local options! The Mango Nada Sour from Dillinger Brewing was by far my favorite and it paired well with their chicken tenders. They have really nice seating areas, a spot to play retro video games, and even offer live music! They offer a great selection of beers, various food vendors depending on the day, cool merch, and family games like pool & board games. Borderlands is easily my favorite brewery. They have an amazing space and a great variety of beers. One thing I love about them though is all of the events they have. I've been to a few there and recently went to their Friday night trivia and it was a blast. It was packed so definitely get there early. Their trivia is done through an app on your phone and is pretty fast paced which I enjoyed. Highly recommend checking it out. read more

We were sooo impressed by the food at Borderlands the tacos were so fresh and delicious and the tot nachos were amazing. The beer selection was also very impressive. Highly recommend trying their La Sonorita Tangerine Sour it was my favorite. The only reason I give it a 4 stars is because as someone who's never been to this establishment it was kind of confusing finding the right door to go through as the patio was full of people enjoying the live music. Flew into town for a business meeting and had some time to kill before departure. We just parachuted into Borderlands Brewing to take two four packs to take back to Las Vegas. We could not sample the beers because we were the pilots, but did sample the tasty tacos. The plethora of spices and flavors just satiated my taste buds! Highly recommend the tacos! read more

Still bad, still low quality beer! This is a result of an over saturated market that has allowed low quality breweries to masquerade as Craft Breweries! Unfortunately for Tucson we have quite a few of these! But this is one of the worst by far! We stopped into Borderlands right off the plane and just in time for live music Sunday! My hubby really enjoyed the Toole Tropic haze IPA, he is def is the ipa expert. I leaned to the pink prickly pear beer. I figured when in the desert I should try the beer with local flair, it was great! Truly a perfect flavor for me! Decor is also very Tucson, We loved the old warehouse building that felt warm and welcoming with a crowd dancing to blues band. The majority consensus every time we go to Borderlands is: the food is horrendously terrible, service is non existent, and the beer is okay. Borderlands charged us $7 for a can of Diet Coke. That was more expensive then the beer. The nachos were $15 and an exact replica of a meal any poor college student has made, topped with franks red hot. The chips were so old they tasted like plastic. It's a brewery; so get your cans to go and hard pass on food. read more

Came here after a nice hike out in Sabino Canyon looking for some good craft beer. I had heard some good things about Borderlands, particularly their Noche Dulche vanilla porter, so I thought I'd give em a shot. Being that it was a Sunday, parking was free and ample. I'm sure that's not the case during the week so plan accordingly. The brewery itself is an awesome old warehouse-type building that was renovated yet still has that historic touch to it. The railroad is right behind the building making for some fun times as the train rolls by and causes vibrations throughout. The live music they had when I was there was also pretty neat. Now onto the beer... The Noche Dulche was everything I had hoped for and then some. I was sorely disappointed shortly before my visit with Breckenridge's NVP (Nitro Vanilla Porter), so I was hoping there'd be some redemption for my taste buds in this type of beer and oh man was it sweet redemption! I also enjoyed the prickly pear ale among the other tasters I ordered. The sweetness of the fruit went perfectly balanced with the slight hops and malt character of the ale. Being that it's been one of my favorite brewery experiences in southern AZ, it's safe to say I'll be back. Cheers! read more

I came here because they're dog friendly! This is one of the few places in town that actually allows dogs inside. Horrible lack of parking, which didn't surprise me. Spacious interior. Bizarre musical selection. It's pretty awesome when a train comes by! What's not so awesome - the place was crawling with small children. That's not the atmosphere I'm looking to enjoy in a brewery. A little boy was picking his nose in front of us while we were eating. Eeew. My dad had a couple of beers, and we both had the Sonoran taco flight. He was ambivalent about the beer when I asked him how it was. The tacos, however, were outstanding. All four were excellent, and I appreciated that they included lime wedges. Of the various breweries I have visited around town, this one is probably my favorite! The location DT is great whether you want to start or end an evening here or just make it your destination for the night. The ambiance is also great. There was a fantastic band playing when we walked in and everyone just looked like they were having the best time! The bar is the place to sit to be in the middle of it all, but they also have a nice seating area outdoors as well. The beer flight I had was superb and I enjoyed every beer I sampled. I really loved the building Borderlands is in. They've done a spectacular job keeping it original but comfortable. Nice outdoor beer garden with live music and a family friendly atmosphere. Very good beer. Food is limited to tacos, for the most part. (Maybe just a Covid thing? Don't know). But for those who don't want beer, they serve some pretty good wines (name brand, not their own) and mixed drinks plus soft drinks for the drivers and/or kids. Borderlands is a short 8-minute walk from the restaurants on Congress and worth the steps. Really... Just walk 8 minutes at a slow pace. Go and enjoy! read more

Solid experience here on a random Monday afternoon in April. Sat down to an uncrowded bar and seating area and enjoyed a flight of five four ounce samplers, a pint of another, and no less than five trains chugging by in the background. With a variety of beers to choose from, there's something here for everyone. My particular favorite was the Boise of Summer, a super hoppy New England style pale ale. Wished they had a little more food to offer - just some chips/dip and refrigerated sandwiches to snack on. More than anything, the ambiance of this building is it's most desirable quality. Located in an industrial area just outside downtown Tucson, you'll won't be able to tell if you've walked into an auto garage, flea market, let alone a brewery. The vibe sticks and really lends itself to the drinking experience. As previously mentioned, the train hauling by every 15 minutes or so is another added feature. Would recommend to anyone who wants to try some good beer with an industrial atmosphere. Walking distance from downtown, it's a cool stop along the way. read more
