It was the cold non melted cheese on top with maybe the worse/cheapest non toasted bun I've had in a while. 1 bite in and it just fell apart and crumbled on me. Just not my thing when spending 6-7 bucks each. The tacos were fine but nothing to write home about or go out of my way for again with soo many options in the area. The tortillas seems pretty solid, along with both red/green salsa too. They also had a bunch of other toppings that you put on yourself which I don't mind doing. The asada was on the dry side for me and wasn't super tender. The pastor was definitely better of the 2 which has some nice flavors to it. At about 3 bucks a taco it's pretty standard. Might try em again down the road if I'm feeling spontaneous but as mentioned not the best I've had in the area. Inside you have to sides for either tacos or hot dogs and order/pay in the middle. Everything is just so tasty and the guy and girl that run the operation are very nice and I strongly encourage that everyone give it a try at least once! Be aware that they only serve tacos and quesadillas yet they have a picture of a tostada as one of their menu items. It has been discontinued so they should probably update that sign of theirs. Other than that no complaints. I am planning on many happy returns here at this good and inexpensive food cart over this coming summer!

Tacos On The Street is the food cart on the northeast corner of College and Oak near the Aggie Theater. They've been serving some of the most simple - and yet, super tasty - street tacos in Fort Collins since the fall of 2010. They serve grilled rib-eye steak three ways - in tacos, tostadas, and quesadillas. Whatever form you choose to eat it in - it's made with homemade corn or flour tortillas, topped with onions and cilantro, and fresh homemade salsa and guacamole. That's it. Those six simple ingredients. Those three basic dishes. But, they taste great. I stopped by for lunch one sunny afternoon so I could enjoy the summer weather and people watch in Old Town. I ordered combo #1 - a taco, a quesadilla, and a toastada - all loaded with the available toppings of onion, cilantro, salsa and guacamole. The service was friendly and fun, chatting away while they grilled the steak right before my eyes. The cart was clean and organized with their operating license displayed right in front (and I later found out that they welded the cart together themselves - that's impressive). I sat on one of the park benches that line College and dug in. Since this the same dish each way - everything tasted about the same - simplistic and fresh. The grilled steak had a slight smokey flavor, and I thought it was kind of funny watching the smoke from the grill billow out onto the sidewalk, enticing more people to eat tacos. The tacos were juicy and light, the toastada crispy and a bit too dry for my liking (next time I'd ask for extra salsa and guacamole). The quesadilla was the best of them all since the cheese really added another level of flavor and texture that pulled it all together (literally). Not only was this light and simple in taste - it was the same for my pocketbook. Good food doesn't always need to be complicated. It has a good, casual vibe. We ordered the chips and salsa which came with two types of salsa; a green and red one. Both salsas had a little kick to them, but not overly spicy. For our main entrees, we ordered the tacos al carbon. It's 3 tacos with your choice of meat (steak, steak diablo, pastor, carnitas, and chicken), one side, and some chips. I ordered 3 steak tacos and beans as my side. The beans were flavorful and the perfect portion. The tacos were filling; I only ate one and took two home for later, but could've been that I was already full off of the chips and salsa :) The horchata was one of my favorite parts of the meal. It's so good! I'd go there just for the horchata. I wish they had other aquas frescas, but the horchata alone is worth the visit. They also have a variety of Jarritos and bottled sodas like Mexican Coca Cola so plenty of drink options. I'll need to come back to try out their margs and other alcoholic drinks. Awesome local farm stand!…read more Finally stopped by this gem after driving by frequently for medical appts in Eerie. Was delighted to find a variety of ripe and yummy veggies. Decided in a few tomatoes and peppers to go with dinner. Fairly priced and oh so fresh. The lady farmer working was so nice and inquired as to if if I'd tried their corn. Since I hadn't they sent me home with a couple free ears - how nice! They also shared I can put the entire ear (with covering leaves) directly in the microwave to heat it up - what a great hack. Highly recommend & will def be back!
