I didn't receive a response until the end of day on Tuesday. I also called her bakery multiple times and had no answer or response-- for 4 days! By that point, I already found another bakery to handle the cake, but had I waited, I would have been left in a very bad position. As a fellow business owner, I don't say this lightly ~ the level of communication here is pretty unacceptable. It takes legit, less than a minute to acknowledge an inquiry and set expectations. A simple "I'm totally booked out" or "I'll follow up" would have demonstrated basic professionalism and respect for a potential client's time and energy. When someone goes out of their way to find your business, fill out your form, and actively try to give you money ~ silence and negligence send a very clear message about how that effort is valued. You haven't earned a client here-- and maybe that doesn't matter to you, but word of mouth is the best form of advertisement, and that matters. My response to Christy's response: It takes less than a minute to fire off an email, or simply answer your phone. There's no such thing as "Easter Monday"-- it's just Monday. When someone reaches out with a clear deadline, a quick acknowledgment isn't optional-- it's expected. Even a one-line response would have been enough for me to plan accordingly.

Yesterday, I placed an order for pickup after 3:00 p.m., and it was confirmed. When I arrived today, my order didn't exist. Instead of apologizing, the manager claimed it wasn't made because I "didn't prepay"--even though no one asked me to prepay when I placed the order. Then they asked me to prove I had called by showing my phone log. I'm not upset that a mistake happened. I'm upset by the complete lack of accountability and poor customer service. Own the mistake, apologize, and make it right instead of blaming a loyal customer. Customers have plenty of options in Las Vegas, and experiences like this are exactly why people take their business elsewhere.

I called Freed's (in a panic) and Jayme was AMAZING!! She was able to get me setup to pickup TWO cakes the next day, sent me previews of what they would look like, and was kind enough to let me know how much cake I would need for the amount of people at our party. I popped by one afternoon during an afternoon coffee run. I wasn't sure what I wanted or what I would find, but I knew this was the site of the famous ding dongs I see all over my social media, and so many other decadent delights. I was torn by the bounty of options-- I almost said f*** it and got the Raspberry Chocolate Cake slice as well, but did the responsible thing and only got the Snickers Brownie. Boy did that deliver! It was huuuuge! It was decadent and utterly divine. They did not skimp on the caramel. It may have put me into a sugar coma, but it was well worth it! I'll be back!

We learned that the inspo pic she found on Pinterest was AI generated and the lovely lady at the front helped us figure out a cake design that worked with our budget and matched her aesthetic. Last year I ran out of cake because I didn't know how to cut a two-layer cake, so this year the cake was in separate layers, with a cardboard layer in between which was an incredible help to me. Everyone who wanted a second slice got a second slice and the cake was delicious and not too sweet. We got so many compliments on this cake from our family from the design to the flavor.
