Jayme helped us with our 2 tiered wedding cake and a serving cake for our 25th wedding anniversary vow renewal. She was absolutely wonderful! It was actually pouring rain the day that we ordered the cake, and Jayme and another one of her staff members offered to walk us out with umbrellas. We told them no, but they insisted, and it was so kind of them. Delivery was perfect, and the wedding cake turned out absolutely gorgeous! It tasted even more amazing! Great place to get fresh and tasty desserts! Recently ordered a cake online for a birthday dinner and the process was easy! I called the next day to confirm the order had been received BUT the confirmation number given was apparently different than what the worker was seeing. Not a problem for me since she could verify my order, but her tone could have been different with the situation. She was on the defense for no reason! I've been coming to Freed's Bakery for years, and honestly, I keep coming back for one reason -- their carrot cake. It's just that good. I picked it up again recently and it still delivers every single time. Super moist, perfectly balanced, and topped with that sweet buttercream that just hits. I actually planned to switch it up and try a cannoli, but there was a mix-up and I ended up with two slices of carrot cake instead... not even mad about it. One thing to note -- their cupcakes have raisins, which might not be everyone's thing, but the carrot cake itself doesn't, so keep that in mind. Our family has visited Freed's Bakery on two seperate occasions and both times we have been met with less than stellar customer service and ok/good tasting treats. On our last visit, I opted for a slice of their "World Famous Strawberry Shortcake" and it was quite disappointing. The cake slice is barely two inches thick with the most minimal amount of chopped strawberries you can think of and topped with a small half cut (instead of whole) strawberry. The cake slice was mostly a thick vanilla cake with a heavy amount of whipped cream topping throughout and the smallest dash of chopped strawberries in the very middle (the chopped strawberries weren't even spread out, just a drop of them in one place). Certainly not what I'd expect paying a premium price of $8/single slice of a cake that's advertised as their "World Famous STRAWBERRY Shortcake". In fairness, it's apparent that real ingredients are used, which makes for a decent tasting, real cake, but the cake overall was quite a let down. Freed's certainly isn't terrible, but there's a difference between a good and a great bakery. If you are charging the prices that Freed's does, you better be sure that you're great, and Freed's simply isn't (especially considering the unfriendly customer service too). There are far better local bakeries here in the Vegas area that I'll happily recommend, but Freeds is not one of them. read more

This year for my daughters 28th birthday. I went with their custom cookies. I have been ordering our cakes from Freed's since 2010 and my daughter's cakes since she was 23yrs old. Throughout the years. I have maintained giving Freed's a 5 star rating. However, last year and this year there were issues that honestly could not be ignored. Which has brought down their overall rating. I will say that these cookies came out simply amazing. Our families logo and the images of my daughter were priceless. Absolutely worth every penny. They were perfect for her High Tea event at the Waldorf Astoria. Not too sweet, the texture was perfect for a shortbread cookie as well. I order 12 cookies. Almost $70 worth of cookies. When I went to get them. I asked to sample a cookie. Since I have never tasted these cookies before. Mind you. They were already paid for. The young man went and got a cookie from the back for me to sample. He then proceeded to charge me nearly $4 for the cookie. I was disappointed by this. Yet, I paid for the cookie with a smile on my face. He asked if I needed help taking my 2 boxes of cookies to the car as well. I said, no thank you. For me to have to pay for a sample cookie after I have spent nearly $70 for 12 cookies is ridiculous to me. I didn't get to taste the cookies prior to me buying them. So I just wanted to make sure my purchase wasn't in vain and my daughter would like her cookies. I have been a loyal customer for nearly 16 yrs. I love each location I have been in. They are small, clean, and alluring. However, to not be offered a sample cookie of what I have purchased for free. Plus this being the second year in a row that I had to give low stars. I just may have to rethink where we will be getting our event cakes and cookies from now on. I will say that. The design on the cookies did win me over. I haven't seen any custom cookies done in Vegas this good. I will always recommend Freed's. I do believe we can have our ups and downs in life and business. However, Freed's is still top quality for your next event, sweet treat, birthday or gift. read more

First time coming in, but I did order a custom cake from here about 2 years ago and it turned out great! This evening I stopped by and picked up some shortbread cookies, which were delicious. I also got a slice of lemon cake. Unfortunately, I wasn't really a fan of that one i couldn't taste much lemon in the actual cake, only in the topping part , I wish the cake itself had more of that lemon flavor. The service was great and everyone was very pleasant. The ambiance had a really nice vibe as well. I will definitely come back. Overall, I would still recommend giving them a try! read more

My husband and I brought the kids yesterday to see if we could find a cake last minute for my mother in laws birthday! All the staff we encountered were very kind. We definitely took a minute to decide on things. They did have some round cakes available and this was at 3pm on a Sunday! We went with a cake that had German chocolate in the middle and then my kids got an Oreo cupcake, carrot cake cupcake and macaroons. The cake was so delicious and my mother in law loved it. I'm obsessed with Freeds ! I'm originally from the east coast where we pride the old school bakeries I grew on. However freeds tops all of the bakeries I've ever tried. Since I first tried this bakery I have now come once a week and I am a healthy person hahah. It must be in the air, when you walk in it smells like a bakery of course and it's hard to make a choice on what to get everytime I go in. I do have my favorites but I am blown away whenever I try something new ! I plan on going on a sugar diet soon but only after I try a few more items at freeds ! Greeted and assisted timely. The Carrot Cake was good. 4 layers with tasty cream cheese frosting. The cake itself was moist. Frosting was light and not overly sweet. As usual, I pre-ordered my Thanksgiving Pies from Freed's online. I ordered a Pumpkin, Apple, and Loaded Pecan. I picked up the pies the day before Thanksgiving (closed Thanksgiving Day). The place always gets pretty busy on that Wednesday but they are so organized. They have great signage directing customers to where things are. They are decorated for the holidays, nice and festive. There is a separate line to pick up pre-orders. Everyone is super friendly and they are so efficient. I went around 11am and was out with my 3 pies within 5 minutes. The family loves Freed's pies and those having some for the first time kept raving about them. I of course had to have a little of each. The Pumpkin is perfection, great classic taste. The Apple has yummy chunks of Apple snd a delicious crust. The Ultimate Pecan is my favorite. It sweet but not too sweet and just the right amount of pecans. The caramelized flavor is heavenly! They said to keep the pies refrigerated, so I always have to remember to make room for them. I unfortunately forget to take pictures of the pies on Thanksgiving- too busy enjoying them! read more

I have been to Freed's many times for pastries, but never for cake. In fact, I don't like cake. But we were in Vegas for my bride's 65th and cake was called for. I ordered online and it was easy to do. Picked a birthday cake theme, flavor of cake (wife likes marble so marble it was), and even what to write on the cake. The cake was ready when I got there. The young lady brought it to me for approval, boxed it up and carried it to my car for me (I do have mobility challenges!) The smells were so enticing I had her pick out a dozen cookies to take back to my condo. Key point: IT WAS THE BEST CAKE IVE EVER EATEN!!!! I guess I now have to say I don't like most cakes. read more
