We ordered a custom cake and cupcakes online for a friend's 50th birthday party and Freed's Bakery came through once again! I worked with Kennedy weeks before the party and she helped me create a gorgeous, memorable, delicious cake navigating me through all the different flavors and icing! Christian helped provide excellent service onsite and with pickup. I continue to highly recommend Freed's Bakery and their team!

Found Dot Cake in Vegas. We'll see how this is! Will update soon. Hopefully it's as good as the rest of their treats are!

Their "World Famous Strawberry Shortcake" cake slice ($8). Pretty disappointing.

Our family has visited Freed's Bakery on two seperate occasions and both times we have been met with less than stellar customer service and ok/good tasting treats. On our last visit, I opted for a slice of their "World Famous Strawberry Shortcake" and it was quite disappointing. The cake slice is barely two inches thick with the most minimal amount of chopped strawberries you can think of and topped with a small half cut (instead of whole) strawberry. The cake slice was mostly a thick vanilla cake with a heavy amount of whipped cream topping throughout and the smallest dash of chopped strawberries in the very middle (the chopped strawberries weren't even spread out, just a drop of them in one place). Certainly not what I'd expect paying a premium price of $8/single slice of a cake that's advertised as their "World Famous STRAWBERRY Shortcake". In fairness, it's apparent that real ingredients are used, which makes for a decent tasting, real cake, but the cake overall was quite a let down. Freed's certainly isn't terrible, but there's a difference between a good and a great bakery. If you are charging the prices that Freed's does, you better be sure that you're great, and Freed's simply isn't (especially considering the unfriendly customer service too). There are far better local bakeries here in the Vegas area that I'll happily recommend, but Freeds is not one of them.

    Custom shortbread cookie

This year for my daughters 28th birthday. I went with their custom cookies. I have been ordering our cakes from Freed's since 2010 and my daughter's cakes since she was 23yrs old. Throughout the years. I have maintained giving Freed's a 5 star rating. However, last year and this year there were issues that honestly could not be ignored. Which has brought down their overall rating. I will say that these cookies came out simply amazing. Our families logo and the images of my daughter were priceless. Absolutely worth every penny. They were perfect for her High Tea event at the Waldorf Astoria. Not too sweet, the texture was perfect for a shortbread cookie as well. I order 12 cookies. Almost $70 worth of cookies. When I went to get them. I asked to sample a cookie. Since I have never tasted these cookies before. Mind you. They were already paid for. The young man went and got a cookie from the back for me to sample. He then proceeded to charge me nearly $4 for the cookie. I was disappointed by this. Yet, I paid for the cookie with a smile on my face. He asked if I needed help taking my 2 boxes of cookies to the car as well. I said, no thank you. For me to have to pay for a sample cookie after I have spent nearly $70 for 12 cookies is ridiculous to me. I didn't get to taste the cookies prior to me buying them. So I just wanted to make sure my purchase wasn't in vain and my daughter would like her cookies. I have been a loyal customer for nearly 16 yrs. I love each location I have been in. They are small, clean, and alluring. However, to not be offered a sample cookie of what I have purchased for free. Plus this being the second year in a row that I had to give low stars. I just may have to rethink where we will be getting our event cakes and cookies from now on. I will say that. The design on the cookies did win me over. I haven't seen any custom cookies done in Vegas this good. I will always recommend Freed's. I do believe we can have our ups and downs in life and business. However, Freed's is still top quality for your next event, sweet treat, birthday or gift.

Shoutout to Kennedy B for working with me on a last-minute gender reveal cake! It was literally less than a week notice and was so detail-oriented with everything. The cake was beautiful and tasted amazing (10/10 for raspberry almond cake, YUM!) Will keep using Freed's for custom cakes :)

But once you find the beautiful, ornate wooden door and step inside, you're transported into a charming little wonderland. The interior is unlike any other café in Las Vegas, with a greenhouse feel, small trees, unique décor, and plenty of cozy spaces to relax. The atmosphere is airy, whimsical, and fun. My favorite drink is the Iced Butterfly Latte, a delicious banana-flavored latte that's both unique and refreshing. I've also ordered the Berry Ricotta Brioche several times, and it's always amazing. The menu offers a great variety of pastries, sandwiches, desserts, and specialty drinks, so there's something for everyone. Pro tip: Find a table before ordering! This place gets very busy, and seating fills up quickly. If you're with friends or family, have someone save a table while the others order. Overall, Gäbi is one of my favorite cafés in Las Vegas, and I continue to bring friends and family whenever I get the chance. Restrooms were really clean and had the same style decor too, so I appreciated that attention to detail. However, I docked 2 stars since I couldn't order anything. I arrived at 939pm, looked at the menu and decided on a slice of the Ube Crepe cake and one of the Apple Cinnamon macarons. They don't close until 10pm and people were still coming in, and there were still plenty of people sitting in the restaurant, but the staff didn't let me order anything at 945pm saying that she doesn't take any more orders after 930pm. What?!?! What the hell? You're open for a whole 30 more minutes and don't want to take my money - am I hearing that right? My friend had cash on him, and he was willing to pay cash if that's less of a hassle, and still no. It's not even to-go only, it was a flat-out no, before their 10pm closing time. THAT IS CALLED CRAP SERVICE. However, the 3 stars instead of 1 or 2 stars is because one anonymous employee who witnessed that go down changed my perspective of this spot. This person asked me not to reveal their identity on my Yelp review out of fear of getting in trouble. They overheard me trying to order but got turned away, then pointed to the macaron in a box in the fridge on display right there to my friend. So as I was walking towards the bathroom, this person (different than the girl who rudely turned me away) apologized for what happened and gave me the apple cinnamon macaron as a gift. That was so sweet of them. The macaron was absolutely perfect too, it was delicious - the perfect texture of the macarons, apple filling, in the center between the cream, with the crunch from I think they were dried apple bits on the side of the cream - amazing!!! But still insanely Vegas tourist trap rip off overpriced with the macaron that person gave me worth $8.35/piece. Honey & Butter Macarons in Irvine, CA or Durian Macarons at Sweet Mood in Westminster, CA, still keep their also delicious macarons under $5 each while having cute decor/ambiance (I'll admit they're not as impressive and unique as this spot though). But they're essentially banking on tourists not knowing any better and what things should actually be worth/gouging tourists as much as they can. Essentially, you're paying for the ambiance. Definitely not paying for the crap service. Food is good, but not astronomically priced good - you're kidding yourselves. You may be able to get away with stuff like that if you're inside one of the luxurious casinos on the Strip, like Venetian, Caesars, Bellagio, etc. But especially being off-strip, get a reality check. I may come back (thanks to your anonymous employee's kind gesture giving me that macaron), but it's more just to show my parents the cool ambiance.

Unfortunately, today's experience was incredibly disappointing. I ordered a breakfast crepe, a curry cheese sandwich, and three cakes. The food was served without any fork or knife. When I asked about it, there was simply no effort to provide basic service. The bigger issue was when I purchased a birthday cake for a friend. I was told there were no bags available for a 6-inch cake. However, I saw other customers receiving bags. I even asked, "If I buy two more cakes, making it three cakes total, would you be able to give me a bag? I only have two hands." The staff still said no. That response honestly made no sense. What made the experience even more upsetting was that I had my service dog with me. From the moment I walked in to place my order, I could already feel that the staff member was unhappy and dismissive. I truly hope that wasn't the reason for the way I was treated, but it certainly felt that way. This isn't just my opinion anymore. Many of my friends have said the same thing: the cakes are excellent, but the customer service is consistently disappointing. People come because the products are great, not because they're treated well. Sadly, it feels like there's no hospitality--only attitude. My family and I have supported Suzuya since the very beginning, back when the first location opened on Durango. We've watched the business grow over the years, and it's honestly disappointing to see the customer experience decline. Ordering now feels like talking to a robot who simply doesn't care. I've always heard wonderful things about Mike, and from what I've seen, he seems like a genuinely kind person. I can't help but wonder how he would feel if he knew his customers were being treated this way by his staff. I'm usually not someone who complains or leaves negative reviews. It takes a lot for me to write something like this. But today's experience was frustrating enough that I felt it needed to be said. Yes, Suzuya makes fantastic cakes--but great products should never be an excuse for poor customer service. Loyal customers deserve to feel appreciated, not dismissed.

I also tried their mango matcha which was probably one of the best I've had in awhile. The mango tasted fresh (not the artificial kind) and the drink wasn't very sweet overall. The mochi beignets were good and much chewier than regular beignets. Wish the place was bigger, it's a bit cramped once inside so I had to dine outside on the hot benches. I'm already thinking of visiting again the next time I'm in town!

I had this as a place I need to try on my next Vegas trip because I love mango, I love mochi and I…read morelike beignets. The pro move is to go early when they open midweek apparently. No line, tables available and plenty of mango mochi available. It's a small cafe and I can see how tight it can get with a long line. We ordered one mango mochi, 6 mochi beignets with yuzu dipping sauce, a Jokoy sandwich with the ketchup and mayo on the side, a yuzu lemonade and cold brew. They brought everything to the table for us. I loved the sweetness of the mango with the cream in the mochi. Honestly I wish I didn't have to share it with my partner, but since we got the beignets also it was probably for the best. The mochi beignets, or moignets were really good. I thought it would be heavy but the balance of mochi inside the puffed dough worked really well. I think I preferred it without the dipping sauce - not too sweet that way. The Jokoy sando was good and reminded me of breakfast sandwiches I would have when I was little. There was literally no one in the cafe when we were eating so I was able to grab another mango mochi to go real easily. The cashier was nice. I would go again, but definitely early to avoid crowds.

I was searching for Eastern European pastry (ik ik some of it is not, but that's what I used to love eating when I lived there), and somehow this bakery was just escaping my attention. It's so pretty there, very good and clean bakery. The cashiers are nice and attentive, the array of cakes and pastries is not overwhelming for me, it's just exactly everything I wanted all these years after getting headache from bad sugar in all of those Smith's and Walmart pies and "cakes", I was so happy to finally enjoy my favorite Soft Napoleon, the Lemon Bar - jeeeeeez, it lemoned me away. Bird's Milk cake was just too much for me - I hardly finished that one piece in two days, very rich taste. I'm so interested in Boats and coconut cake, also want to try their bread next time (the fluffy buns with raisins are the holy grail, I wish you guys were not so far away, I'd be buying them every week. Loved my first experience and I'm hoping not to be disappointed in any other cakes I intend to try soon p.s. I saw croissants - they are huge and I'm dreaming of them now.

The savory items are still good, and that is probably the only part that still feels reliable. The flowers, however, are extremely overpriced for the quality. The arrangements I have seen recently looked poor, did not feel fresh, and had an unpleasant smell. For the price point, the quality is simply not acceptable. The sweet items have also become a major disappointment. What used to be fresh, well-made, and worth going out of the way for now tastes stale and, in my opinion, is no longer enjoyable. It is especially disappointing because this place had a strong reputation and genuinely used to be good. Overall, it feels expensive, overhyped, and no longer worth the visit. The savory selection may still be decent, but the bakery's sweets and flower shop quality have fallen far below what they used to be.
