Wow. We lucked out. All included in the dinner ~ Faboo house salad with homemade blue cheese dressing on the side. Decided to give this restaurant a try since I haven't eaten here before and it always looks busy so I figured it must be good. the menu has a good selection of salads, hot and cold sandwiches, sides and more. They have both a bar and regular seating. Staff is busy but attentive and prices are decent. I had the roast beef and habanreo cheese cold sandwich on italian bread with a potato salad side. My husband and I happened to find this gem during our drive from Dallas Texas to Beaver Creek Colorado. A great place to stop for a nice beverage and a delicious lunch. We sat at the bar great and friendly service. My husband had the French Dip (especially good after they serve Prime Rib on Friday night) I had the Rachel Reuben oh so good and delicious I strongly recommend this bistro. read more

WOW!!! Fabulous Panini sandwiches!!! My wife had the Cubano Panini and I had the Pastrami Panini. We both selected the Marble Rye bread - perfect entrees!!! We sat outside on a beautiful afternoon and, as a result, the ambiance was the best that Westcliffe, Colorado, could ever offer. Elise was our server. She was very pleasant and very attentive to our needs. In a few cases we were able to work the crowd as they were coming into Bootleggers Bistro as we were seated along the sidewalk as customers were coming in for an early dinner - what fun!!! We are outside. The server/bartender was pretty busy and was entertaining. I tried the pepperberry panini (hot sandwich of ham, mustard, habanero cheese, and strawberry preserves). Mine was really good, but was missing the strawberry preserves. I got a blue moon on tap and it was pretty normal, came with the standard slice of orange that was unjustifiably amazing after our hike. I also got the side salad with blue cheese dressing, which I would recommend. I wouldn't eat outside again due to people smoking in the corner. This was our second time here. We ordered is supposed to be with naan bread but came with tortilla chips. It was nothing to write home about. Ordered a Diet Coke and when I got it, it tasted flat. Apparently their Diet Coke is made with Splenda. I ordered a Reuben sandwich with potato salad. The sandwich was delicious! The potato salad was not my style. I think they use dill pickle in their recipe. Not horrible if you like dill pickles. My husband got the Speakeasy sandwich and said it was okay. I am recovering from an accident and was looking forward to visiting westcliff. After a great morning my husband and I stopped in Bootleggers for a drink and something to eat. I wasn't sure if you just sat down or waited. So we picked a table and as a waitress was passing by all I said was "Hi, can we sit here?". She seemed nice and said yes she would be right back. We ordered drinks, I went to the ladies room. We got our drinks and that is when everything went wrong. Obviously I did something wrong because we were blatantly ignored. The waitress just kept walking past us waiting on people as they came in. After some time i realized what was happening. I have never experienced anything like this. I was so upset I left in tears leaving my husband to pay They just put the bill down without a word and left Honestly what did I do? All we got initially was scrutiny that we ordered incorrectly. Food came no silverware to eat with. Unpleasant atmosphere. Probably just a bad day for the restaurant. We ended up here because more than half restaurants in town were closed. With gas prices up and ourselves working in retail in a Colorado tourist town, we were curious if traffic seemed slow to our waitress and the reason for all the closures . She seemed confused by the question and said most people would rather be home cooking for their own families. Needless to say not a welcome feeling. From that point on we felt confused as we felt we had just been told we were bothering poor Westcliffe and this restaurant in particular with our tourism dollars. Food was appreciated but adequate. The "French bread" used on sandwiches was sliced white bread and the sandwich was soggy. Oh well, probably should have planned ahead to avoid bothering the locals with our presence. read more
