I called Charlie based on the other great Yelp reviews here. We set a date for him to come out and estimate the work a few days after I had initially called. While we weren't sure exactly what we needed. We'd done a terrible job of looking after the yard and the lawn was pretty sick in spots. Charlie offered some great suggestions that would get our yard off the neighborhood offender list. His team mowed, cleaned out overgrowth, trimmed up the trees and bushes, and added some fragrant wood chips around the trees and garden. And he actually started and finished the work the day after he provided his initial estimate! While we've still got to work on the actual lawn, the changes Charlie and his team implemented dramatically changed the look of the yard! While he's not a cheap deal, he's definitely a quality deal. I was very happy with his suggestions and the changes he made even though I ended up spending a little more than I had anticipated. We're going to continue using Charlie for the other changes that are needed and we would recommend him to anyone looking for quality work and professionalism. read more

Beware the power of Yelp.... Like one of the other reviewers listed below, I hired Charlie based on all the high ratings on Yelp. When I first called Charlie he told me how busy he was. Apparently his high ratings on Yelp had people contacting him constantly. In a twist of irony, Yelp had put him in high demand and he was horrible about following through or getting anything completed. He was very unorganized and unable to manage his work load. Instead of just turning down the work because he wasnt able to handle any more, he assured me he would have time. We were supposed to meet one morning before i went to work and after he was 15 minutes late, i called him, only to find out he had no recollection of making the appointment. I let it slide but similiar occurances happened afterwards. When I finally met with him, i was very specific about what I was looking for. The new landscaping installed just prior to me buying my house was done poorly by the previous owner. My main priority was to have Charlie fix the problems and make adjustments to get things back into shape, so all the money that was put in before i moved in, wouldnt be wasted. He assured me he was capable and could do it, He started doing bi-weekly maintenance for me, but he never got around to fixing any of the plant or irrigation problems. On top of that, I was shocked to see how poor the regular maintenance was. Simple things like weeding werent even taken care of and his services were not cheap. I soon found out that the work i wanted done was not a high priority because his other projects were more profitable. After pressing him several times to come out and fix the original issues i had asked for, he came out to do an estimate. To my shock, he started pushing for me to have him to install all new landscaping instead of fixing the existing. I couldnt understand why he couldnt just take care of my requests when he came out for regular maintenance every two weeks. Then he actually told me that he doesnt make any money on maintenance work, it's the "new installation" jobs that pays his bills. That explained the sub-par maintenance, he was only concerned with bigger expensive jobs. I terminated his services quickly after. Although I will admit he is very knowledgeable about plants and a decent guy, I would absolutely not recommend him for maintenance work. If youre interested in paying a premium for him to do a big project, knowing that his best interests are obviously ahead of the customer, then i suppose he is your guy. read more

We have a large landscaped yard, and we asked Charlie and his crew to clean it up after a WET winter. Man, it was overgrown with weeds, and tree sprouts and a mess. This was the third year in a row he cleaned up our yard , hauled off the mess and left us with a STUNNING back Yard!He took care of all the details, even the stuff I forgot to mention, and at a significant discount compared to the gardener we used to use. I would recommend him highly! read more

Let a message for Charlie to give me a quote but nobody ever called me back.

Charlie made a big effort to contact me after reading my previous review. We played phone tag for a while but finally talked today. He offered to come back to my property and do more work for free (more plant removal and mulching). Unfortunately, I just don't feel comfortable with having more work done. I appreciate his drive to make me a satisfied customer though. read more

My back yard has basically been neglected for a decade. By the time I called Charlie, everything had been run over by Bermuda grass that was incredibly hard for me to get rid of. I kid you not, it would have taken me months. He said that he would be able to take care of it within a day, and lo and behold, his guys got the job done in about four hours. He even gave me advice on what weed-killers to use on my lawn. Highly recommended. read more

I called Charlie to get a quote this afternoon for maintenance on my two houses. He came over within 20 mins, and gave me a quote on the spot. Booth landscape is a perfect example of a fair and honest entrepreneur doing business in our community. A tree fell onto our house; he and his right-hand man were able to come take care of it the very next morning. His work was careful, clean, and expeditious. He is a very humble person, and I will be utilizing his services from now on. read more

I would not recommend this company to anyone. I hired them to maintain my mother's lawn after my father passed away. After discussing with the company the services needed, and explaining that my mom who is in her 90s prefers consistency, I was initially reassured that this company would be a great way for my mom to have the lawn she prefers without the stress. The company rarely completed the work required on any given day and often would simply not show up on the day agreed without communication ahead of time. Further, the company was rude to me when I called to complain. I will not be using this service again. read more

I would not recommend these landscapers. I hired them to landscape the yard of my new home. As the home itself was new construction the lawn had to be seeded and started. The company came when they said they would and appeared to be completing the task at hand. After completion, they gave me instructions regarding not disrupting the lawn and assured me they would be returning to continue to work on completing flower beds, as well as the overall supervision of my lawn. They did finish the beds which looked excellent however after several weeks it did not appear as if the grass was growing at all. When I called the company about this, I was redirected. When I finally talked to the head person, he blamed me for the grass not growing. Overall I was happy with the flower beds but very disappointed in the grass. I will not be using this company again. read more

Charlie Booth has been doing work for me and several of my friends for years. He has the key attributes of anyone I choose to do work for me. He's honest, reasonably priced, shows up when he says he will, does what he says he will do, and is an easy affable fellow to talk to. I have been telling him I would write a review for a long time, now it's done. Thanks for all the great work Charlie. read more

Charlie and his crew did a fabulous job on my small backyard. Had bamboo and creeping ficus which needed to be dug out. Charlie's team worked very hard and got it done in two days. One more day to finish up planting and install new lighting. He made sure my sprinkler system was working efficiently and replaced any broken parts. Very knowledable team who goes above and beyond to satisfy the customer. Highly recommended and will use in the future. Fun to work with, too! read more

We needed to replant and mulch four very large beds in our backyard garden and decided on contracting these guys since they were in our neighborhood. We asked them for a quote to do the job and accepted it and were told work would begin in two days. On the day they were supposed to arrive no one came by, we waited until night and didn't see a single soul from the company. The next day, I decided to call and find out what had happened. I was put on to a supervisor who told me that there was a mix-up with the times and that they would be today. The workmen came an hour late from the time given to us and seemed like they were in no rush to get the job done. Halfway through the job, they ran out of material and decided to leave and come back the next day. No one showed the following day, even after numerous calls to the office and e-mail to the manager. They came three days after to finish the work. We told them we wanted a discount because the service was very unprofessional. We never contacted them again read more

Charlie is the best. I Called Charlie on a Wednesday to get an estimate to trim our hedges (mind you they were at least 12 feet tall and out of control). Our hedges surround our entire 3500 sq ft lot. He answered the phone right away, we agreed to have him come out on a Friday to look at the yard, and then he said he would call me at work with an estimate. He called just after noon on Friday. His estimate matched the lowest bid I had received ($300). He and his son came out on the following Monday and did the work. He even went to the neighbors to get their permission to go into their yard to trim the hedges on their side as well. When I came home my yard was spotless. Not only did he clean up all of his trimmings, he cleaned up a dead Bougainvillea that I had chopped down (it was about 6ft tall), a pile of leaves, and neatly stacked some old fence posts and pickets in the corner. When it came time to pay, he still quoted me only $300. Charlie had some great recommendations for the rest of the yard, and said he would work on some designs for me. Hard working, honest, and a class act. Call him. You won't regret it. read more

Charlie and his crew did a fantastic job at my home. In preparation for house painting and future re-landscaping, Charlie advised me on how to keep my home looking great during the process--removing old landscaping, cleanup and installing pre-landscaping materials. He's very professional and has a thorough knowledge of landscaping. Probably the best workers I've ever had at my home. I'm delighted!! read more

I called Charles to inquire about some sprinkler repair. He answered the phone, was very personable and was able to come out in about a day to take a look at the sprinkler system. He repaired it in about an hour and the cost was very reasonable. He took the time to explain how the system worked, where everything was located and he even offered some very nice suggestions for future work to spruce up our front yard. Very reasonable and practical suggestions. He was professional and courteous and I would highly recommend his services. Top notch! read more

Wow Wow Wow ,Charlie Booth and John Cash just completed our landscape project it is super fantastic, you might say we are the envy of our neighborhood.. We had a vision of what we wanted in a drought tolerant yard and they made it happen. Charlie drew up a plan and work began. They spent hours/days tilling, sifting thru grass roots to make sure no old grass infiltrated our new project, these guys worked relentlessly to start with a clean slate, so to speak. They were working within the City's water department rebate program, so they had to abide by certain guidelines, they did an excellent job. They built a dry rock river bed, the plants they selected were beautiful. The plants are colorful but still drought tolerant. I wanted red mulch, I got it, you asked and they made it happen. They built a special trellis for the side of our wall ,which now holds a gorgeous vine. There are no words to express our gratitude for the finished project and all the hard work that went into from these two guys. Thanks again, Contact Charlie for any landscaping you need. He has five stars from us,,6 if we could give it !!!!!!! read more

Our backyard was a big ugly patch of dirt after we let the grass die to save on watering. We contacted Charlie after seeing his work at a friend's house. He was very patient and thorough in listening to our vision for the space and guiding us with a plan. He and his workers created a gorgeous space in a very challenging environment including having to take every tree, plant, and wheelbarrow of bark up a flight of stairs since the work was being done on the upper tier of the yard. Charlie's expertise in and love of what he does is evident. The end result is so beautiful AND functional. I would recommend Charlie and Booth Landscape to anyone wanting to have a quality experience and result. read more
