Walking into an Apple Store when your current phone is broken feels a little like arriving at the…read moreemergency room carrying your own severed arm. There's stress. There's urgency. There's the quiet fear that someone is about to explain why this situation is going to cost the same as a small Caribbean vacation. So before visiting the Apple Store at The Gardens Mall, I checked the online reviews and honestly became a little hesitant. The feedback online painted a picture somewhere between "mild inconvenience" and "technological apocalypse." But I was nearby, desperately needed a new iPhone, had a gap in my schedule, and decided to roll the dice. I'm glad I did. First off, the location is incredibly easy to find, especially since it's right near the Bloomingdale's entrance at The Gardens Mall. No wandering through endless corridors wondering if you accidentally crossed into another county. The store itself is exactly what you'd expect from Apple: spacious, bright, sleek, and somehow engineered to make you feel poorer the longer you stand inside it. I was greeted quickly and paired with help almost immediately. Since I already knew what phone I wanted, I expected the interaction to be fast and transactional. Instead, what really stood out was that I genuinely felt served instead of sold to. That's an important distinction. The two employees who helped me were professional, patient, and extremely knowledgeable. They walked me through the purchase process, transferred the data from my broken phone to the new one, and even helped with the switch from my phone carrier... which isn't even one of Apple's preferred vendors. And not once did I feel rushed, pressured, or upsold. Yes, they guided me toward a phone case and charger, but it felt consultative instead of sales-driven. More like, "Here's what would actually work best for you," and less like a timeshare presentation disguised as customer service. Considering I walked in expecting stress, complications, and possible regret, the entire experience was surprisingly smooth and honestly kind of refreshing. Whatever experiences other reviewers may have had, mine was absolutely a five-star visit. Also, my blood pressure survived the iPhone purchasing process, which may be Apple's most impressive innovation yet.

**One Star: The Apple Store Experience, Now Featuring Endless Waiting**…read more I visited the Apple Store because I needed a genius bar appointment--one of those magical time slots you choose online with confidence and optimism. What I did *not* get was confidence, optimism, or, honestly, time. Let's start with staffing. The entire Genius Bar and repair check-in process appears to be managed by **one** (1) person. Just one. She's taking her time to answer every single question from customers who clearly have never owned a smartphone before, as well as customers who come in with the energy of "My phone is doing a thing" (said with the calm certainty of someone who has never turned a light switch on). This includes grandma, who can't use her phone--yet somehow the conversation continues as though she's teaching a classroom of students how to land a spaceship. Meanwhile, there are **20 other employees** standing around on the floor... doing absolutely nothing helpful. They're all talking to each other, standing in clusters like decorative mannequins with lanyards. Every once in a while, one will glance over and nod as if to say, "Yes, we are watching the slow-motion train wreck of customer support." But no one steps in. No one helps. No one moves the line along. The store simply runs on the power of **that one genius** trying to single-handedly solve the world's problems. Next: the repairs. If you have an appointment, please enjoy the thrilling surprise that "appointment" means "sometime after the heat death of the universe." Repairs were running **way late**, and the excuse was basically: "We have a lot of walk-ins." Okay, sure--walk-ins happen. But here's the part that really seals the deal: - Appointment slots are available online. - Cancelling those appointments comes with **fees**. - Getting stuck waiting for hours because they're behind? No discount. No courtesy. No "sorry for your time." Just the same look of calm superiority, like customers should be grateful for the privilege of being delayed. If you enjoy being treated like you're bothering the staff simply by existing, then this is the perfect place. If you value your time, your dignity, and the concept of "on schedule," I recommend setting your expectations to "my appointment is a suggestion" and bracing yourself for a customer service marathon powered by slow answers and scattered arrogance. **Bottom line:** One Genius. Twenty social butterflies. Walk-in chaos. Late repairs. Cancellation fees with a side of indifference. Would I come back? Not unless I need the kind of repair that only happens after an extended waiting period and multiple lifetimes.

So I ran all my virus protection including Malware and it still acted crazy. I asked an I.T. guy for assistance and he did his thing and told me the computer was shot and to buy a new one. To me, that was devastating as this was a new computer. The last thing I wanted to do was buy a new computer. I ended up hopping on Yelp, went into the search area, and had it send my issue out to vendors on the site. In a short time, they responded back to me, started the dialogue, and told me what the issue would be. He broke it down in simple and easy steps. When I followed it, it was exactly what he said it would be, a bad screen. Based on that, I told him to order me a screen. When the screen came in, I was called by the technician. At the store, the tech greeted me, told me he would have the computer fixed the following day. Which is exactly what he did do. Overall I am impressed by the business and the willingness to diagnose an issue without me even giving them a cent. They were fast, gave me a warranty, and I will certainly use them in the future if the need ever arises.
