Came here on a saturday early morning and expected a long wait. I've tried to come here on multiple occasions and always found the wait to be too long. On this saturday morning we were determined to eat here regardless of the wait time. They seated us at the bar area. The bar service was great. Everytime we ran out of anything the server was super quick and attentive. We even got to try a bit of some cocktails they made. The interior is really small which i think is the reason there is such a long wait. All the food was good. Nothing was bad. My favorite dish would be the boon fly donuts. Probably will only come back for the donuts to go. Everything else I feel like can be well replicated at any other brunch place. We have visited this café roughly six times a year for the past seven years. The food has generally been tasty and consistent, and the staff are adequate. Prices have always felt a bit high, but they are comparable to many of the limited options in Sonoma, where being a resort destination naturally drives costs upward. Our concern arose during our most recent visit in the off-season, when it became difficult to ignore what appears to be a lack of care from ownership and management. The interior of the restaurant looks as though it has not received a proper deep cleaning in years. The blinds are visibly dirty, the floors are in poor condition, and several light fixtures are missing bulbs. The remaining lights vary in style and color temperature, creating a disjointed and neglected atmosphere. These details matter. When basic cleanliness and maintenance are neglected in the dining area, it raises serious questions about what may be happening behind the scenes in the kitchen. I brought my dad who is from out of town. You gotta love the donuts . Home made - it's well worth the visit. Our waiter was wonderful - he has been there a long time and was very attentive. Wanted to take my family to a Brunch place that we had never been before. I did a search and found Boon Fly Cafe. This is located just outside of Napa area. It was a bit confusing to find parking situation. Boon Fly is actually located in Carneros Resort and Spa. Looking for parking we ended up in front of the resort. Joshua one of the golf cart drivers was nice enough to give us a ride to the restaurant. The restaurant is a Barn with its vibrant color pink. Aesthetically pleasing. Service was wonderful. Our waiter was very nice and attentive to our needs. Food is excellent. We did start off with their mini donuts (doughy but delish) especially when dipped in the chocolate syrup. The Chicken and Waffles seemed to be popular so we joined the club and ordered it as well. We thought the chicken was going to be dry but it was surprisingly crispy on the outside and the meat was juicy and tender. We also order the special of the day which was French Toast - 100% recommend. The Kobe Burger was exceptional. The bread was nice and soft and the meat was juicy and tasty. Wow! My husband liked the eggs benedict but the eggs weren't as runny as he wanted but he still loved it. My sister ordered the chilaquiles and really liked it as well. I ordered the breakfast burrito, I really liked it but wished that I ordered it with the sauce on the side because I felt like it was a bit much. The french toast was a bit drier so we thought to use all the maple syrup they gave but it didnt really help. Service was great, our server was so sweet and made sure we got everything we needed. The Boonfly Donuts were pillowy and had just the right amount of sweetness, making it the perfect way to start our meal. We also got the corned beef hash and the kobe beef burger-- the hash was one of the best I've had, with the hash browns being light and crispy, yet having enough substance to balance out the richness in the corned beef, poached eggs, and hollandaise. I would give this place a 0 if that were an option. The hostess was extremely rude and extremely racist. When I asked how long the wait would be for a table for five, she was cranky and dismissive. There is a small parking to the left of the cafe. The waitlist wasn't too bad for a Saturday - we just had to wait 35 minutes, and there's enough seating outside so you're not just standing there. Instead, the cafe is small, so a waitlist is understandable. We were promptly served drinks and the food came out rather quickly. I got the green eggs and ham - there is a good amount of sauce, a delicious combination of lemon and leek. My family got the chicken and waffle (an absolutely generous serving!) and the corned hash. The waffle was delicious, and the maple butter was a lovely yummy touch. I would come again and eat it again but it wasn't the best chicken & waffle ever. Not the best fried chicken ever. It was me and my partners first time in Napa Valley and her parents recommended this restaurant. It feels almost as if you're walking into a real barn, but one that has been renovated for the modern era. I really liked the "homey" ambiance. For food, I got the burger. It's cooked medium so it does come off a tiny bit pink - but it is so juicy and delicious. Just ask the server if you'd like it cooked more. My partner had the pizza. The ingredients here were very fresh and flavourful. We ended up having desert - though, I wasn't too much of a fan of the ice cream sandwich. On Sunday June 22, I went to Boon Fly with a coupon to comp us. We did not wait long, and to make this clear I am an employee on the Carneros property and got the special coupon via raffle drawing. I had the best yogurt with steel cut oats with fruit, oatmeal with honey and brown sugar and to top it all off, a pail of baker's dozen donuts. My brother had a huge breakfast burrito. Our breakfast was so epic that we saved $76.50. I even had a couple of helpings of water even one with lemon. Atmosphere was tremendous, guests had great manners, I even took a pic of my meal, even the dad from couple tables over did it too. He gave me thumbs up. It was great way to start the day. Dinner is good here! All the dishes were delicious. The ohlone salmon flatbread was a surprise for me being so tasty! Yum. I actually had the mushroom bolognese, I'm just starting a mostly vegetarian diet for health reasons and it was yummy and satisfying. The kids had Kobe burgers- they loved them. Fried calamari was good too! I had a couple- see I'm mostly not all vegetarian. Our server was super friendly. Clean and cute restaurant. My only caution is at night it is VerY dark to drive and might be hard to find and intimidating to exit (because of the speedy traffic. (Of course it's dark at night you say, I know. Get the donuts! My friend suggested Boon Fly Cafe simply because their main photo was their donuts and who can say no to fluffy donuts? The wait on a Saturday morning was about 40 minutes which wasn't too bad. Only downside is they don't text or call you so you have to be nearby to hear your name being called. There's plenty of seating out front and even a few swings so you can stay entertained when waiting. You are able to order drinks at the counter, as well, while you wait. The inside is pretty much "you see what you get". It's relatively small, you can see all the tables they have available at first glance. Besides an order of donuts to share for the table, I opted for their green eggs and ham dish. It was pretty good, although, again, the donuts were the star of the meal (although you can skip the chocolate sauce it came with because the donuts were plenty sweet on their own!). Service checked in on us regularly. Food came out quick. Prices were okay. Overall, it was a pleasant meal. Parking can be tough though during busy hours. We were lucky to have snagged a spot in their nearby parking lot, but our friend had to park further back near the resort. read more
