Friday at lunch we met up with our daughter and her husband Things started off okay then turned into the hell in a hand basket Our waitress I assume her name is One Table Tammy as she could only take care of the group directly behind me. It amazes me how different locations of this chain make up rules or regulations on the fly. Last night I entered the Grapevine location of this chain establishment. Asked the hostess for a table outside because I wanted to smoke. She seated us under cover on the patio. I asked for a different table further out in an uncovered area because I wanted to smoke a cigar. She accommodated my request. As soon as I lit my cigar a manager came to the table and said " I'm sorry sir, we don't allow smoking on the premises". I told him I had done this at this location before and had recently done the same thing last week at another location with no problem. He held his stance and repeated his comment. Decided to try this place out for the first time. Great environment, cool place to hang out with friends and lots of room to enjoy. The negative (for me that is), lots of food selection and offerings but not much for healthy choices or options. I'm sure the food is good so try them out. My girlfriend and I came here Friday night to grab a few drinks after a hockey game. Boomers has an awesome patio so of course we grabbed a seat out there. I waited about 10 minutes before my went to the bar to order my own drinks. At no point during my time last night was I greeted, or asked for any drink orders. This is the second time this has happened to me at this location. There was a server in my section. She did pick up my empties, but never said hello or asked if I needed anything. I don't get the "average" rating here. This place was very solid. Loud, busy, but open and inviting. When you don't have cable TV and your team is playing such a minor game that almost no one is carrying it, you're a bit stuck - so I tried Boomer Jack's. As a guy who "hates" chains (local and national) and avoids them at all costs, I didn't have high hopes. I'll tell you what, I may break my "no chains" rule this football season. I walked up to the bar, was greeted promptly (although they were slam packed), and the manager promised to find my game when it was on. The beer was cold, the burger was outstanding (I'm not much of a burger guy but I'd get it again), and I even thought I'd try a dessert (based on my server's recommendation - the banana pudding) which was really very good for a sports bar. Honestly, I don't know how this place could have done any better. 4* because I've only been here once, but for a sports bar, this is about as good as it gets. This place was so packed that I had to park at Olive Garden. We sat outside and they have TVs everywhere. The bartender at the outside bar must of been in a super bad mood, he seemed like he didn't want to talk to us and it took forever to get him to order us food. We ordered a bunch of appetizers that includes: Cajun, lemon pepper and Ghost Pepper boneless wings (not spicy at all). I normally have a good time at this place but this last time I got 2 drinks, for starters he threw the coaster down on the table while walking by when I arrived not even saying hello or anything. Then I ordered my second drink and specifically asked for a single this time, I got my check and it was a double, so I commented (i'm not someone to really care because I work in the industry as well and it's really not that deep) saying hey I ordered a single this past time so I shouldn't be getting charged for a double. They then went to say that i'm so sorry I thought you said a double (this was after everyone at the table also said they heard me specifically say a single this time) and kept my tab the same. I get it for charging me for what I got no problem but the issue was that they weren't very nice In general it was almost stand offish. Almost seemed like I was charged for the double just to hype up my tab to get more money out of me. Great food and ambiance. Love the 1:1 scale model pieces around the restaurant. I'm a model builder so it was fun to see. We left choices to our server who did wonderful. Once again, another great Boomerjack's that makes me question why Arlington Boomerjacks is so horrible. The service was friendly and quick, we had drinks flowing the whole meal, the daily drink specials are fantastic, and the food is delicious. We like the 2 for $22.. We are able to get the skillet queso and I had a grilled chicken pesto melt with fries and tomato basil soup to dip. It was nice and lively with the NFL games on the thousands of TV screens. The patio was so cute, and the weather was perfect- but we had our toddler, so we opted to sit inside where it was less distracting for her. (She loves dogs and there were several. a group of old friends met at Boomer's for lunch yesterday. and we had a wonderful time. we ate in the far room were the music didn't interfere with the chatter of old friends. the service was lovely. a young lady took good care of us with a beautiful smile. then my food, TEXAS BRISKET MELT | 10, was such a rip off. there was probably 2 tablespoons of actual meat. mix with a little cheese and onions spread on double decker of toast triangles. not a full sandwich nope a half of sandwich. tasted like grease a lot of grease. Ashley was the worst server I have personally ever had. Food took forever, she made awful excuses to why. Watched her stand at the service well and talk to her friends instead of checking on her table to see if we needed refills. She would not take the dirty plates off of our table so I set them off to the side on the next table so we had room. she then came around the corner and asked me why I did that and called me rude. My first visit here was on Friday. I picked this restaurant because they had a nice happy hour menu and we were celebrating my promotion. There was no wait and we were seated rather quickly. I ordered a few gummy bear shots, a couple drinks and I ordered the skillet queso and salmon. My salmon came out cold and it was raw. I stopped the manager Bobby passing by and he had the kitchen remake it. Once it came back out it was really tasty. The server was really short with us but she got us everything we asked for so over the visit was fine. Because the drinks were so good I decided to bring my family back on Monday. The sever was not nice at all and she seemed as if she was bothered by our presence. Our food was fine, subpar rather this time. The drinks were still great however something was left off from my moms drink and she informed the person who brought the drink to the table. That young lady threw her hand up at my mom and said 'I'm busy and walked away'. Because I remebered Bobby from the first visit I asked for him to come to our table to inform him and he laughed and stated he would speak with her. When our server came back she said 'I heard you all had an issue with another server, she was rude or something?' I replied yes... She said 'i'm sorry about that, anyways, y'all need boxes'. Mind you, we were still eating so at this point I felt like they just wanted us out. Then she came to the table a second time asking if we needed boxes and I replied for her to bring the check. I come to BoomerJack's because it's a "go to" place for me. I've lived in Grapevine most of my life and frequent the BoomerJack's around DFW. Unfortunately, last night the service was horrible as the server was inattentive and rude. I was catching up with an old friend that I have not seen in a long time, and these were our first drinks of the day. He ordered a shot as his second drink and when the server brought it, he asked "are you ok?" to my friend, which was incredibly impolite and so, so rude. It quickly became awkward and ruined the good vibe. We were not displaying any behavior or conversation that would lead anyone to believe that he wasn't okay. Then when we were trying to pay, the server was standing against a wall, socializing with his coworkers, laughing and playing. We tried to remain patient, but we quickly wanted to leave. My friend had to walk his credit card over to the server to pay out. Super disappointing and really appalled at this server. I wished I would have said something to management, but I hope that people think twice before going here for the service. Next time, I'll be going to Flips where the servers are friendly, attentive, and make me feel welcome. read more

The bartender who was working last night around 7pm provided no customer service. She never even acknowledged that I was there. There were only a handful of guests at the bar so she was not very busy. When I asked about getting a drink she used a snarky, sarcastic tone to tell me she was making a drink for another patron. The problem was in the five minutes I sat at the bar she hadn't poured a beer or made a drink for anyone. She was just standing at the other end of the bar chatting with what I assumed to be a regular. She walked past me twice. There was no excuse for her behavior and if that's how she treats guests at the bar, then maybe guest service isn't for her. Someone who appeared to be a manager, stood next to the bar the whole time and never addressed me or the bartender either. Overall first time experience was ok. We had three different servers in the first 10 minutes we were there. It is way to loud in the restaurant. My wife had to almost yell at each other to have a discussion. Should have sat on the patio. The traffic on 114 couldn't have been near as loud. I had the spicy poblano pepper smash burger. Either make the burger spicy or take spicy out of the name. So disappointed. My wife had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. She said the chicken reminded her of the processed, frozen, rubbery chicken patties from Sam's Club. I had a bite and I totally agree. Cotton Patch Cafe has a MUCH BETTER Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich and they use a real chicken breast. Not the processed, frozen crap Boomerjacks uses. The upside to the evening was Dos Equis on tap for 2 dollars. I figure I'll get zero response from Boomerjacks as they are more focused on the bar part of their name and not the grill part. Just rename it to Boomerjacks Bar and Crap Food. Did I mention I was up most of the night with probable food poisoning? I can't give zero stars or negative 1 million stars. read more

Not cool, man. Crowded Friday lunch. Everyone is here to see the baseball game. The bar is loaded except two stools with water in front of them for almost an hour. Since when does it make sense to reserve bar seating. I mean, one guy was saving seats for his buddies? Only one of which bothered to even show up. Instead of sitting inside and watching the game in the AC I had to sit outside at the bar like a second class customer facing two empty seats for most of the time I was there. I would think if someone wanted to reserve seating during a lunch rush you would suggest he get a 4-top table. Total BS!!! Won't be back.
