This was a fun experience. sit at the chef's counter for all the history. Our chef, Chef Brie,…read moretold us why the restaurant was named Rouser, about the building, about the Josper systems, about cooking our food, and we all really gelled so we also just talked about life. The food was unique because of the Josper system. Both (mine and my husband) of our favorite dish was the seared scallops. My husband said it was hard to pick! We're locals and went during shoulder season AND the Delta Center is closed (summer 2026), so we had a small group for the counter and the restaurant wasn't that busy either. Because of this, Rouser was pretty quiet. I don't know if this is normal but it made talking with our friends at the counter easier and without shouting, and talking with Chef Brie and hearing her stories too. Since the counter menu changes, I look forward to going again for another prix fixe experience! (Oh, and they do offer a wine pairing if you're interested. My husband and the other gentlemen got one and liked all the offerings.)

The good. Beautiful build out. The hotel is awesome. Some staff very nice. Other than that, spend…read moreyour money elsewhere. The food was just ok. We had the bread, tomato app (which was very good), duck, pasta and chicken. The pasta dish was tiny and I mean tiny... The duck was presented well but did not taste very good. Chicken was just ok. I actually came to this restaurant when I checked in and barely anyone was in the place and getting seated and hosted was weird and it took too long for even someone to give me water and I left. It was 7:30pm and there were probably 20 people in there. Again, this place is beautiful and part of a great hotel which I stayed at. But the service and food need to be better for the money.

Make sure you check out the lobby of the hotel. The hostess told us to catch it. Glad we did!

Dishonest practices at UVU, very disappointed. As of Spring 2025 UVU increased tuition for every…read morestudent by $250 WITHOUT any students knowledge, no email, or any type of disclaimer. What was this for? Certainly not the students being secretly charged, but rather to go into a pot of money to "be dispersed" to other students for text books. sure, charity is great- but not when your money is taken for it without your consent or any knowledge. Does it benefit the majority of students that are having money unknowingly taken out of their account though? No. No it does not. For someone who has to get most of the textbooks from outside sources- or don't even pay $250 worth of books, that is just another expense taken out of the bank at no benefit. There is a way to opt out- but it is very difficult to find. Do it before Jan 27 to get your money back. Shame on you UVU.

A lot of reviews of the Store mention how everything is really expensive, while the sentiment isn't…read moreentirely untrue that Walmart is cheaper, Walmart is a multi-billion dollar corporation, and the UVU Store is not. Regarding the comparisons to prices at BYU or other universities nearby, a simple search shows that the exact same set of pens, magnets, or even a box of paperclips are quite literally listed for upwards of almost $2 more both for U of U and BYU's own website. Things will most likely be more expensive than large corporate-owned stores but that is to be expected for the convenience of on-campus purchases which is the same sales model as paying more for a tiny chip bag from any vending machine you will ever encounter. The store is exactly what it is supposed to be, an area for on-campus purchases of items you may need for class or items you may want, just for fun. There are also food options that are cheaper than many other food options on campus at Scoops as well as a Starbucks and a lounge area to study and charge any devices you need.

Please do not shop at this store…read more I purchased a book online and quickly forgot about it. Weeks later I got an email saying that the address I put in was wrong and they would not be refunding me. I asked what the book was, and it took them eight (angry) emails before they responded. They CRITICIZED the book I purchased twice and INSULTED the authors. I had paid for the book ($10) as well as shipping the first time. The owner was angry with me and said he would only send me the book if I paid for shipping again a second time (which was less than $7). I sent him $20 and my corrected address. He refunded me $10 and sent me an invoice for the shipping of the book to the correct address. When the book finally arrived, he had WRITTEN in the book (a limited copy) and AGAIN criticized the book and the authors. The owner was very UNPROFESSIONAL throughout our entire interaction. Please do yourself a favor and purchase your books somewhere else.

How are y'all sleeping on Eborn books? There are five Eborns, classing up malls and city streets…read moreacross the valley. About a month ago, I sung the praises of Eborn Books' Layton Hills Mall location, and now I'm all the way on the other side of the valley to sing more praises. Eborn has new, used, and even rare, and out-of-print books. They lean a little too heavy on the religious books (especially Mormon/LDS books) for my taste (the back of this store is dedicated to the subject). One thing I notice now is that each store is different, which isn't surprising for an organization involved heavily in used and rare books. The Provo store seems more voluminous in its collection. While Layton seemed have the perfect amount of books for their shelves, the Provo seemed more like an old college lit professor's home, brimming with books in every nook and cranny. This is by no means a criticism ... the more books, the merrier! If you're a fan of James Patterson, Louis L'amour, Idiots/Dummies books, man, this is the right place for you to spend an afternoon. And rare books ... I saw first editions for Victor Hugo, Jack London, Hart Crane, James Fenimore Cooper, and Eugene O'Neill (to name a few). I'm comfortable in concluding that Eborn of Provo has "a lot of almost everything". I'll have to go back for another round soon. Still, this location is EVEN BETTER than Layton--although, not in my opinion, as stacked as the SLC location. Still, amazing.
