I had a very frustrating experience with Boomer McLeod and feel obligated to share it so others can be aware. I brought my 2018 Tahoe in for what should have been a straightforward audio-related job--upgrading and properly routing power and ground wiring for my system. Instead, this turned into a much bigger issue. After picking up my vehicle, I immediately started experiencing electrical problems that were never present before. My voltage was dropping dangerously low, my stereo system began cutting out, my amp failed, and even unrelated components like my fog lights started acting inconsistently. When I brought the vehicle back, instead of taking accountability, I was told my amp was bad and ended up purchasing a replacement through them. I was also advised that my alternator might be the issue--despite my Tahoe only having around 66k miles--so I spent additional money replacing that as well. None of this resolved the core problem. To make matters worse, when I scanned my vehicle myself, I found multiple BCM (Body Control Module) faults that appeared after they worked on it--something I never had prior. I've made multiple attempts to resolve this directly with them, including reaching out again today after being told the owner would speak with me. Instead, I was told he was unavailable and "getting on a plane," which felt like just another excuse and more runaround. At this point, I'm left with a vehicle that has ongoing electrical issues, money spent on parts I likely didn't need, and no accountability from the shop that caused the problem in the first place. My wife wished for a remote car starter this Christmas, so after a little research I called Boomer McLoud, got an estimate and scheduled the appointment. They did a great job. The installation went smoothly, and went quicker than they estimated, which was nice. The remote starter work entails using one of the keyfobs permanently hidden in the car. Boomer McLoud told me this upfront, so I knew we'd be left with one fob. After the installation, which works perfectly, I ordered an additional key fob from my dealer. I should have done that first because it turns out all three fobs need to be reprogrammed together. When the new key fob came in, I took the car to my dealer and he cautioned me it could be difficult now that the one key fob was hidden in the car somewhere. But I called the guys at Boomer McLoud and they told me where to tell the dealer to find the fob in the car. No problem at all. The dealer got the reprogramming done and the best part was when the dealer told how professionally done Boomer McLoud's work was, they had placed the fob for easy access and the work looked very well done. I bought a Remote Starter with installation about 2.5 years ago. The installation seemed fine, and the system worked great until a few months ago. Today I brought the car back to them for repair. The installer spent three hours diagnosing the problem and replacing some of the remote start system.... for free. I have no idea if the system was still under warrantee, but the installer said that a connector had cracked, possibly during installation, and that was probably the cause of the problem. I volunteered to pay for the parts, but they were willing to fix it gratis. You might get cheaper products and installation elsewhere, but when messing with your car's ignition system, you need someone who knows what they are doing and who will stand behind their work. Remote starter installed in my 2019 chevy Express passenger van about a year ago. Perfect time for a review, remote start works as if it were done by the factory ,furthermore you dont see any disturbed dash components, perfect. They did a great job and highly recommend. By the way I dont know these people like we often think who is doing the review. read more
