I spent several minutes chatting with the cashier about the new Transformers series and why it's hitting so well, while another staff member checked in and recommended a few books I hadn't even heard of. This place feels like a local bar for comic fans, except instead of drinks you're deep into comic talk and shop news. The variety here is fantastic. The wall is lined with new releases and current titles, there's a strong selection of graphic novels, and the middle of the store is packed with long boxes full of back issues, including great deals like 50-cent bins, variant covers, and bundle finds. There's just so much cool stuff to look through. Benicia is lucky to have a comic shop like this, and whenever I'm in the area, I make it a point to stop by. It's a down-to-earth, no-frills comic store that's simply a joy to visit.

Shelves packed with graphic novels, new issues rolling in on a weekly basis and short boxes filled with back-issues that you can get lost for hours. During our 4 years in Suisun, I spent a LOT of time digging, discovering, and just soaking in the magic of collecting. What made it even better was the friendship I built with John, the owner. He's created a space that truly welcomes readers especially in a world where "going digital" is an easy option. Waterfront Comics reminds you what real collecting feels like. Thank you, John, for your kindness, your passion, and for bringing the community together. Shops like yours keep collectors inspired.

They host regular magic the gathering tournaments, pre-releases, draft nights, and commander events. It's a small LGS, but just this last Sunday, I participated in the 4th Prerelease event that weekend, in which a good 16+ people showed up to play in. It's across the street from a mini mart and Krispy Krunchy Chicken shop, so lots of food options to just come in and chill and enjoy an afternoon or weekend playing cards or checking out the latest comic runs.

The owner Sam guided me to Uncanny X-Men back issues, and I was lucky enough to fill some gaps in a early 90s run that I had from the 90s. They run different discounts on back issues, it was 25% off when I picked up my books. I was impressed with the organization of the back issues, and it appeared they had all been re-bagged and boarded which made them present really well. I'd also noticed they have 50-75% off on some graphic novels that they are clearing out. Recommendation: I saw they have some graphic novels of Saga of the Swamp thing by Alan Moore and Stephen Bissette. If you haven't read this, its a must buy in my opinion.

Really appreciate Anime Island not scalping customers like some other game stores have been doing. Even managed to pull a cute Sewaddle full art from my packs! My one critique would be communication around prerelease events. I was hoping to enter the Delta Reign prerelease but couldn't find any info on registration or pricing. When I called, I was told the details were on Instagram, but I follow them and hadn't seen anything. If the info is being shared through Stories, I'd love to see a regular post instead so people know when to come sign up. By the time I called, only one spot was left, and since I wanted to enter with my boyfriend, we ended up passing. Even the staff member I spoke with wasn't sure about the pricing. Otherwise, I really love Anime Island and the staff are always super friendly. Looking forward to more surprise weekend Pokémon drops I can actually make it to!

I purchased a lot of items and felt they were very reasonably priced. The staff were extremely happy and pleasant to be around. This isn't your cheap, rip-off merchandise you see at hobbie and toy stores in the mall. This is quality merchandise, name-brand and brand new.

Their prices are fair and comparable to other board game stores like Games of Berkeley and Black Diamond Games. I also like that this is just a store, not a place to play games at. Sometimes I get intimidated walking by people playing at tables. There's a parking lot around the back that belongs to the grocery store, I think. Or street parking. The people who work here are super friendly too! Very helpful but you won't feel like they're watching your every move.

Met Kevin, the Owner, who's been in business since the heyday of collecting in the 80's. He was extremely helpful, friendly, and didn't mind taking time to answer questions, which I had plenty of since the collecting industry had changed so much since I stopped. Over the next 3 years I bought numerous hobby products from Kevin. When COVID hit in 2020, the industry went crazy and caused prices to skyrocket. Kevin remained true and offered prices well below what he could of asked for at the time. I asked him about it and he told me he'd seen numerous highs and lows in the industry, and he wanted to take care of his loyal customers who would always come back. I have a great deal of respect for Kevin, and while I have stopped collecting new cards (I just purchase vintage), I still stop by from time-to-time to say hello.
