I love this location. They have a wider selection of sale titles than the Campbell location, from classics and recent fiction bestsellers to plenty of nonfiction and cookbooks, too. I always walk by with something new to read. :) I recently stopped by and found that they had stepped up their activism, from featuring a small selection of titles that you can purchase to donate to the prison literacy project to providing multilingual "rights cards" should you be approached by ice agents . Glad to see this local treasure is standing behind their progressive values -- offering reading materials at great prices, supporting literacy for underprivileged children, and disseminating important knowledge about your rights to the masses! Come support them!

Cute book shop on Castro St. Lots of selection and everything was well organized and visible by category. They also had a section of books on sale. My husband picked up some manga books, and I thought it was a nice touch that they give you a bookmark w/a purchase. The girl stuck it in one of his books. On the back of the bookmark, there's a list of their other locations.

Love bookstores! Books Inc is an independent book shop here in the SF Bay Area. We should all support having these around to explore and have our kids have a place to see why books & reading are cool activities! Right?

Solid bookstore located in Mountain View. It is a very inclusive bookstore. Each section provides short recommendations from the employees. The fiction section has lots of items, especially for science fiction. Fantasy is also bundled in that section. Half the store is dedicated to kids and young adult books. Extremely kid friendly with a place to read. They have a members program where you get points per purchase. Don't miss this gem of a bookstore!

Great bookstore in downtown Mountain View!! Everything is very organized and easy to find. There's really no place to sit in here, so you will find people sitting on the floor reading books. And if you're not trying to spend too much, there is a table with books for sale with some really good deals, I almost always find a book I like there.

Still a good bookstore that is easy to quickly pop in and check out new titles. The chain is one of the strongest supports of books and authors. This location, while not expansive overall, does have a lot of the space devoted to kids' books. Love walking in here to pick up a new book for me most visits.

Was walking in this area and stumbled upon this cute book shop. I love how they have everything organized and even have little reviews and recommendations posted around the store by the employees. The staff and super friendly and the store is very clean. Wish I lived closer to drop into this cute bookstore gem.

Cute little book store with a decent selection. Staff was friendly and even offered my pooch a treat. We ended up with 3 books and a card game. Worth the little bit of a drive from Fremont to check out.

Nice local bookstore. They have a good selection plus puzzles and other items. It's small but it has enough for browsing and the newest releases.

Lovely little bookstore right on Castro! They have a wide selection of books, fiction and nonfiction, travel, history, cookbooks, etc. They have a table of staff picks that offer an eclectic set of recommendations. On top of that they have a selection of sale books that are under ten bucks! They're not just the leftovers that no one buys either - these are popular titles and great reads, at an affordable price!

You'll often meet spiritual and like-minded people here. And yes--they actually have a small indoor waterfall where you can sit and meditate. It's beautiful. The statues are affordable, and I've picked up some lovely crystals and bracelets. Since it's in downtown, some crystal pieces can feel a bit pricey--but overall, the selection is worth it. They have huge crystals. They have paintings at the end of the shop. You can also find sale items near the shelves there. I've bought so much from them over time--oracle cards, books, journals, incense sticks, candles, crystal jewelry--you name it. I've never regretted a single purchase. They also have a second-hand book section with great finds at lower prices, and they often put sale items on display outside. FYI - dogs are allowed!!

The store itself is huge! Way bigger than it looks from the outside. The staff is kind and eager to help- they remind me of the skilled staff at bookstores back before the internet decimated the industry. But it is nice to see some bookstores surviving and even thriving. The selection of books was great- I came looking for 3-4 random books, including kids books- and I found them. One of the books was not available at any local library. The pricing was very fair for the area and the fact that it is an in store experience- and you get the enjoyment of browsing their large selection of titles. Btw they have a friendly cat. He sleeps a lot like most cats but is nice. I highly, highly recommend this business. Easy parking. Great selection. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Good prices.

First off, I love the political signs posted on the windows, like the "everyone is welcome here except ICE". When I walked in, the store looked exactly like what I've always envisioned a cozy community bookstore to be like--filled to the brim with books and with a lot of character. I came here to sell some books and it was pretty quick--I had probably 20-25 books and the employee finished in less than 10 minutes. As I was waiting for my books, I walked around exploring. I was very impressed with the selection of fiction. There were actually quite a bit of new releases, but also older books and editions that I would likely not find at a corporate bookstore. If I had the time, I'd love to spend 1-2 hours here just browsing. I didn't expect to get much money for my books; I was actually going to donate them and didn't realize that they still buy books, so their offer was ok. I was moreso pleasantly surprised that the employee was so nice lol, and also a little chatty. Honestly the last time I sold books was probably 15-20+ years ago at Half Price Books and I remember they were always pretty rude/standoffish lol. In addition to the service, the atmosphere, and the book selection, the cherry on top for me was that they have a special shelf where you can buy a book there for 50% off for them to donate to the library at Elmwood Correctional Facility at a bit of a loss for the store. I used most of my credit from the books to get a Stephen King book for the library.

After visiting dozens across the state, we know a great bookstore when we see one. Leigh's Favorite Books is hands down one of the best we've ever been to. The store has a fantastic selection of books and is very well organized, which makes browsing easy and enjoyable. I always love seeing staff picks in bookstores, and this place had plenty across a great variety of genres. They also offer a book buyback program for store credit, which is a fantastic option for readers who prefer to keep their shelves from overflowing. They also carry used books at discounted prices. I personally love used books because they have character, and the bindings are already nicely broken in, which makes them even easier to read. Leigh's Favorite Books also earns our unofficial award for the best non-book inventory of any bookstore in California. Most shops carry the usual boring gift-store items, but this place had a genuinely fun and unique selection. They had such a fun assortment of random items that we wanted to purchase just about everything they had lol. The service from Becky was exceptional. When I mentioned that I read across many genres and especially enjoy biographies, she personally recommended one and even wrote the title down on a sticky note for me. When we talked about our road trips visiting bookstores, she also suggested a trip to Vermont, where you can get a bookstore passport stamped along the way. She was incredibly friendly and great to talk with. We can't wait to come back and pick up more books.

The books are neatly organized with thoughtful staff notes and recommendations. They have a program which for their book store members, you can return certain books in 3 months as a "buy back". The "buy back" % is clearly listed on the book cover, a few of the hot items I see that they are buying back for 50%! The staff member is very friendly and helpful. She helped answer questions, looking for items and she was on top of her job. They have events like meet the author once or twice a month. Overall, this is a great local gem and I'm happy that I stumbled upon it!

In an age where everything is ordered online and endlessly scrolled through on a phone app, this bookstore reminds me how important physical bookstores are to a community, right alongside public libraries. There's something grounding about picking up a book, flipping through the pages, and deciding if it's coming home with you. Because it's a used bookstore, the deals are great, and you'll often find items that are harder to track down online or cost much more elsewhere. As someone who collects out-of-print graphic novels, especially indie titles from publishers like Image Comics, finding older first printings at reasonable prices makes every visit worthwhile. The shop has a cozy, welcoming vibe, and the staff is genuinely pleasant and knowledgeable. I truly appreciate this place and what it represents.
