What a lovely little find!! This is a gem of a bookshop with many selections at great low prices. I've bought a few romance books, most at 50 cents a piece, including Nora Roberts. I was even able to find her latest book in hardback for only $4! Was also able to snag some fantasy books for 50 cents a piece from the Naomi Novik saga I've been looking for. Plus got the Bruce Springsteen autobiography I've been meaning to read for $1.50! My friend also found a bunch of piano sheet music for like $1 a piece. The condition of the books varies, but usually in pretty good condition and they're priced accordingly. Some are even pretty new! Like the Nora Roberts hardcover was pretty much like new except for you could tell someone's dog chewed off the corner lol. The volunteers that work in the bookstore are also very nice and happy to help if they can. They don't really have the books catalogued, so you can't really ask them if they have something in stock, you just have to go look for it, but it's fairly well organized and they have posters on the walls to help you locate the sections. Plus it's fun to just browse and see what's there. This is such a nice stop to browse books and get a few new ones for your reading pile at a good deal!

One of the best value used bookstores in town that you should definitely pay a visit too! Books are priced anywhere from $0.50-$5; have never found anywhere closeby nearly as cheap! They have a wide range of books, from fiction, psych, poetry, religion to textbooks and more. They also have a good range of collectors books! I've found a ton of my favorite authors / books there (Nelson Mandela, Barbara Kingsolver, many Pulitzer Prize winner books). I've had quite a few on my bucketlist that i was surprised to find there for such great prices, and they have baskets of "book club" recommendations in case you're feeling indecisive. And another plus - the volunteers there are SO kind and welcoming, a great atmosphere overall. There's street parking or you can walk from downtown Saratoga :)

    Found some real gems!

Tucked in a corner off Hwy 9 in downtown Saratoga is this gem of a used bookstore! The books are sorted, but not necessarily 'fine-sorted', so it's a great browsing environment. I walked away with some beautiful, nearly new hardback books for a couple of dollars apiece! Great variety, great prices, and a great place to browse and buy!

The best book store hands down! So glad I took a chance on this gem. I've been to many many recycled bookstore and have yet to find the right one and this is it. Promise that you won't regret it! The staff is super nice. They are located in a small little corner but plenty of neighborhood side parking. I was fortunate enough to find sooo many hidden gems and financial books that I was searching for. What surprised me the most was how great the condition of these books were, literally mint condition for the price of 2-3$ max. I thought I misread the price for a second but everything here is super affordable for fellow bookworms. I will definitely visit on the daily to stock up! Saying goodbye to Barnes and noble for sure .

Such a steal. 4 books for less than $20.

I came across this book store when I was having afternoon tea with a friend. Being the bookworm that I am, stopping by was no question. I was greeted by these two nice ladies at the front who told me that this use to be location of the old library and that all the books in the store are donated. For a thrift store, there are some pretty good finds. There was quite the selection of hardcovers novels as well as paperbacks for those who like to be able to store their books in their purses instead of using them as self-protection when walking down the street. I bet you can't do that with your e-reader! (no offense to people who use e-readers. I, too, use my phone to read.) After browsing around with my friend, I came out with 4 novels for under $20. And for the curious souls (what you read says a lot about the person), I'll be kicking off 2018 with: - When in Doubt, Add Butter by Beth Harbison - Queen of Babble by Meg Cabot - King's Cage by Victoria Aveyard - Origin by Dan Brown You bet my library I will be back.

Children and adults love the Book-Go-Round, a delightful used book store in Saratoga run by the not-for-profit Friends of the Saratoga Libraries. The Spanish Revival style building is on the historic register. Unlike thrift stores that rack their books with little thought, the volunteers here are often subject matter experts and the books are thoughtfully grouped and well labeled. Besides book shelves, I like the baskets of books and rotating columns of books. The prices are awesome. For example, on the lighter side (there are plenty of technical, beefy books and literary masterpieces too): Local Book Club Past Favorites $1 Graphic Novels, many $1 to $2 Music from India CD s 50 cents Romance novels $2 Science fiction $1 Basket of love and inspirational books 50 cents up Summer reads 50 cents Vintage sheet music! (Price varies) TED books Huge selection of children's books and comics When the holidays roll round I drop in for a couple more cook books for inspiration. Before a major sight seeing trip I visit the travel book and historical book sections. For the best selection of records, music CD s and DVD s go at the beginning of the month. But, you'll pay a premium of $5 each. Wait for a picked over selection the last three days of the month and the price drops down to 50 cents each. The audio books are not part of this sliding price scheme. Each one is clearly marked, Many were priced $5 to $12. Open every day Sunday through Friday Noon to 5 PM and Saturday 10-5 PM. On the street parking can be tricky -my least favorite part of going there. On Sunday you can use the retail cleaners parking lot across the street, but other times, not recommended. Don't let the parking keep you away. The book deals are just too sweet.

Small used book store- bought some children's books- some were a little high priced for their condition, but the money is for a good cause.

I stopped by on a Tuesday evening, and it wasn't overly busy. I meandered through the aisles and was blown away by the genres/styles/options. Whether you love mystery or memoirs or illustrated novels or fiction, there is a book for you at Recycle Bookstore. What's more, since they sell used books, there are so many options at an extremely affordable price. I was able to pick up a Spanish vocabulary book for less than $5! The service was unremarkable, which is exactly what I want from a bookstore. I was able to slowly check out all the books without any rush/pressure. There was so much cute merch in the store as well, ranging from tote bags to stickers. If you're looking for a book to read or even some fun souvenirs, check this spot out!

I recently went with three large boxes of books, and got $4 cash back for everything. There was probably 50 - 70 books total. I remember going here as a kid, the charm, the cat, and now they don't even have a cat, and their service has gotten awful. Same goes for their Almaden location, too. TLDR: Not worth your time at all. Selection has gotten worse over time, too.

Noelle's Yelp Notebook 2021…read more Quarantine Chronicles - May 2021 Ave Maria is an essential shop for Catholics. Long ago you couldn't take photos in the shop but I spoke with one of the clerks and they said it's fine to take photos but they still haven't taken the old sign where it said photos are not allowed. In the advent of the internet and social media the only way businesses can survive is by customers sharing photos online. I've been coming to this shop for over 30 years with my family. The shop is specific for Catholics. They have all materials that Catholics may be interested in such as books for children, books for adults, dvds, musical cds, gifts, crucifixes, bottles for holy water, candles, gift sets for first holy communion, confirmation gifts, cards for all occasions, prayer cards, the selection is amazing! They even have garments for Priests, Deacons and things you might need for inside the church but that is separate from the main shopping area. Customer service is good on the phone and in person. The only problem is they only had two staff on a very busy Saturday. They require masks to be worn inside due to the pandemic. Upon entering you are required to sanitize your hands and the sanitizer station. Selection was a little slim on communion and confirmation items as many children are having their first communion and confirmation. I was still able to get the items I needed. One thing I love is their greeting card section - it's super extensive, for all occasions. This is a one stop shop for all your Catholic needs. A favorite place of mine to shop for sure :) Noelle's Notes A great resource for all things Catholic. They are taking pandemic precautions- must wear a mask to shop and sanitize hands upon entering. They are closed on Sundays. If you cannot get here another great catholic resource is the religious gift shop at Our Lady of Peace in Santa Clara (not far from Great America and Mission College).

They carry rosaries, figurines, art work, cards, wind chimes, music, books and many other items that would be great gifts overall and if you are looking for something to celebrate the Sacraments. Now that I know this store is here, I will be sure to frequent it! Parking is very easy to find as there are plenty of them right in front of the store.
