From the few photos and the name, I thought it would be more of a children's bookstore but I was so wrong. As soon as you enter, the amazing staff welcomes you and is eager to help you find any books you are looking for. Right at the entrance they had the fantasy and romance section which is a personal favorite, and I immediately found a couple of books that have been on my list. I absolutely LOVED that they had self published books from indie authors, which is so rare to find at any local bookstore (you usually have to wait for them to be re-published by a publisher to find them anywhere besides Amazon). They also have a children's section which is super cute, and I found a couple of things for my little one. On the top floor they have a couple of couches for you to hang out and a section of used books. Frankly, this was one of the best bookstores I found in the DFW area, and I can't wait to come back and support them!

For free, you can earn "stamps" that result in discounts (currently $5 off for every 10 stamps earned), and for a reasonable yearly fee you can upgrade to be a Premium member and earn 10% off everything every day. As an avid reader with a family of readers, it is totally worth it, and (do the math!) usually cheaper than competitors (*always* cheaper when I'm reading more obscure stuff). If you enjoy earning free stamps, it is worth signing up for the B&N newsletter to keep an eye out for double/triple points days. They always have deals on bestsellers and daily BOGO 50% tables, so you have a new selection of deals to hunt through each time you visit.

I've been here countless times -- my whole family used to visit after dinner at CiCi's Pizza (which was next door, once upon a time). The price quoted was a lot with a 10 week wait! But after they explained what repair entailed and what to look for when purchasing a BIble that lasts, I understood. I didn't get the name of the person that spoke to me, but she had excellent customer service skills and she used them, taking time to explain the process so very kindly. I decided to just buy the kid a new Bible (one not glued, but sown together, her recommendation) but if I ever need a book repair service, they will surely get my business. We were hoping for some sort of cover and binding to preserve it since it is of great sentimental value and over 90 years old. What we received back was a gorgeous gem, a true made-to-order family heirloom. Not only was the cover beautiful, the binding is a work of art and pages we thought were lost forever were delicately and expertly restored. We stand amazed. Again, if you expect to do it on the cheap and have it by next week, forget it. But if the book in question matters to you and you budget for time and money, plan in advance, make an appointment with one of their experts, then expect the best. These are artisans who will pour all their skill and experience into your valued piece and devote entire days solely to its restoration.

Last year this company started editing and proofreading my book. It has been a battle that went…read moredownhill quick. I gave this company $1,500 to "work" on my book. They only justifiable person that actually did anything was the editor named Sarah Nguyen. The book was fine up until that point. Somehow while the publisher was trying to fix indentations, my book became a huge mess. It took months to continuously have to proofread my book over and over again, and send email after email finding new errors in the book. At that point I was getting frustrated because time was taking and they were taking way too long. I started this journey in April of 2024 and it barely finished in November 2024. That did not stop this company from milking my friends and family for a pre-order of the book but then ended up taking the sweet time sending it out. I also emailed them directly and told them that one of the books was to be sent to a new address because the person who purchased was moving. I got that same email back that everything was fine and that they appreciated that I sent the email and time. This was at January 8th of 2025, plenty of time for the books to be shipped to the correct addresses. Today I got a message from a friend saying that the book was sent to the old address regardless. I was furious and this may have been the reason why I have decided to cut ties with the company and dissolve any contracts with them. This company uses the website ingramspark to do all their book distributions. They blatantly lie through their teeth about shipping these books Nationwide through retailers like Barnes & Noble and target. However, new authors do not understand that they could just do the work themselves for way cheaper. Ingramspark is a multi-billionaire company and they are the ones that distribute nationwide. Gemlight publishing does not distribute nationwide. Do not let them fool you. They simply use the Ingram website to make things easier on themselves. They also lied and said that the cheap books that I was mass buying from them was only that cheap because it was through their company. That is also a lie and they just purchase from again the Ingram website. They also took quite a lot of time editing this book and at the end there was still so many errors in the book that I was astonished. It seems the publisher was to blame considering when she was indenting the book she fixed things and apparently did the worst job ever. I noticed that there were sentences that were written twice, some words were run on and some sentences had the very strange indentation that made no sense. There were other formatting errors as well including font sizes being different sizes, I had to constantly find mistakes where the chapter titles were spelled incorrectly which I never actually wanted in the first place. The front cover was pretty bad but I just went with it because I was tired of waiting. At the beginning of all of this she tried to hide a Christian cross on my front cover even though I am not christian. I had to explain that she needed to remove it immediately. The back of the book was wonky and had weird designs that I would have never decided on. Her logo on the back of the book was laughable and large, and just felt out of place. it seems like she wanted everyone to stare at the watermark instead of the back of the book. The image I sent her had been used so much that it was completely pixelated and blurry. Looked nothing like the beginning when I sent it. Anytime I try to message her via facebook, she acted very unprofessional as if it was impossible to get a hold of her. At the end she told me to just email her. Facebook is an easier way to get a hold of someone especially if they're profile is designated as a professional entrepreneur. I am referring to the woman named Erica Capri, who is also the publisher for this company. She seems nice in the beginning, but this entire scam has gone for far too long. I don't understand how I didn't see it more quickly than I should have. That $1,500 I will never see again and I will not be able to get a refund. I just recently bought 23 more of my books and it's taking them very long time to tell me how or when they will get here. She never sent out any tracking numbers to the few pre-order books that happened in november. No one knew anything and I feel like that is in itself very unprofessional. I do not recommend this company despite all of the people claiming that it is a good one. My book was very long and tedious yes, but if she knew that in the beginning she should have never agreed to it. There's no way I would agree to something that I knew I couldn't handle. If you're looking to get your book published I would suggest just self publishing and using the Ingram website.

My favorite Anime of all time is DeathNote, so I figured this was the perfect selection. Several titles caught my eye, and I look forward to my next visit. The purchase price was reasonable; it was actually a bit less than the cost at some other places, and it was a great buy. It's all here in one crowded, slightly chaotic package. They've got a ton of bulk Pokémon and Magic cards in large, loosely organized drawers you can dig through for hours. You probably won't find anything rare, but it's a good time if you're the type to go treasure hunting for something. There's a decent selection of tabletop minis, paints, tiles, TTRPG books, and board games, nothing mind-blowing, but more than enough to get a new campaign rolling or add to your collection. The manga and comic section is sizable too, though I can't speak to the quality since that's not my scene. Events happen regularly, which is great in theory but a bit awkward in practice if you're not partaking. If you need access to the back wall where the tables are, you'll likely be squeezing past players mid-match. If it's accessible at all. The entrance can also get pretty bottlenecked depending on how many people are milling around. The store's clean enough for a hobby shop, but if you're a germaphobe, maybe bring hand sanitizer. The staff are helpful when asked and otherwise leave you to browse. Every now and then one might get chatty, but not in a bad way. The whole place is welcoming with that typical nerdy vibe you expect from a place like this. It's a very inclusive store, if that's your thing. The prices are as you would expect. If not on the higher side. We like Generation X. They've got the biggest selection of the stuff we're usually hunting for. Still, I don't know why, but we're always looking for an alternative. Maybe it's the clutter, maybe it's the crowding, or the drive. Either way, it's a reliable go-to even if it's not quite "the one."

No receipt was my fault, but this game, which is not available just anywhere, obviously came from their store and even their employees said the game could not be seen to be played. I was quoted store policy which, in this case, was not an option. I am stuck with a $30 piece of junk. AVOID THIS CHAIN.
