Jarret showed up early to set up and though his generator didn't work, he had very long power cords for back up and made magic happen! It was also perfect that he had umbrellas on each end to provide shade for the seats. My son, his friends, and our friends had such a good time! Jarret was on the trailer the whole time to help the kiddos figure out the levers. He made sure there were gems, coins, or other trinkets in the scoops for the kiddos. He provided coins and gems and I added some dinosaur eggs in the mix. Jarret was great about his communication the entire time and very pleasant on the day of, as well. Just revisiting this and realized Jarrett responded to my review! Gosh I am usually pretty good about moving on from things but this *still* bothers me a year later, how awful and sad is that :( I was going to open a business at the union market tustin (closed now) several years back but the owners of that place were crooked and dishonest and stole thousands from me and several other small business owners, and I've even let that go lol! But something about this just still gets me. Honestly, I think it was the way Jarrett handled things after he flaked on my son's party that I can't let go of. I should have recorded how Jarrett spoke to me - it's still pretty vivid in my memory. In response to "as I said to you before" and "as I mentioned offline I am embarrassed and feel terrible that we missed your booking" Jarrett, while I appreciate the sentiment of your response, let me make a couple things VERY clear: YOU NEVER APOLOGIZED or took responsibility for how you treated me that day. The text messages I posted in my yelp review are literally the last correspondence we have. As I mentioned in my first review, I had to follow up with you to get the refund of my deposit. I'm not sure when you mentioned you felt embarrassed or terrible because all I literally heard on the phone when we spoke was you SCREAMING at me with excuses when I was just telling you how disappointed I was, and then I got hung up on. So disrespectful. Do you deny it? Because I noticed there are still no apologies or taking ownership for why you YELLED at me the morning of my son's party, minutes before it started and minutes before you were *supposed* to be there! I got off the phone in tears and shaking from how you spoke to me. My friend who was helping me at the party and my husband can testify. Look I get it, I can loose my temper too but I've never yelled at a total stranger, let alone a customer, the way you yelled at me. and when I do loose my temper, I always acknowledge and apologize to whoever I yelled at. (usually my spouse) I received not one follow-up message from you expressing any sentiment remotely close to an apology or admitting fault, wrongdoing, or acknowledgement that it wasn't right to yell like that. Honestly, if you had just apologized and taken responsibility for canceling instead of screaming at me, maybe the outcome for all of this would have been better. I'm glad you've taken measures to not let the "unforseen issues" cause you to cancel parties the morning of but hopefully you've also learned to control your temper and not yell at mother's who are just trying to throw a party for their kid. It seems like you've received many 5-star reviews since mine, wow that's great- I so deeply wish that could have been my experience too. While of course I believe in second chances and I do appreciate your offer of making this right, I just am pretty traumatized by the whole thing and truly wish things could have gone differently for us. Not only is the booking process easy, but as you can tell by the 5 stars and the fact that this is a minidigger, speaks for itself. I booked the 2 hour birthday party for $300 and it was worth every penny. Not only was the birthday boy happy, but the guests were equally impressed. As Jarret arrived with the minidigger in tow, eyes certainly lit up. In fact, eyes and legs started to take off in his direction. It was a memorable party. If you're ever on the fence about booking this digger, I'll provide another piece of information that'll have you convinced. If you're looking at petting zoos, face painting, balloon people, or bounce houses, it'll come out to around the same price. This thing was awesome! My wife and I booked the mini digger for my sons 3yr old party. My son and the kids (even a few older kids haha) loved it. It was the perfect fit with our construction theme party. I booked from a personal referral of another friend who enjoyed the mini digger as well. I was thinking of what to do for a bday and let's be honest that bounce house lasts less than an hour, this thing was rocking the whole way through! Jarret was nice friendly and very attentive. We hired Jarret and his mini digger truck for my child's 4th birthday. There were about 25 kids ranging in age from 2 to 8, and they all and a blast!! Jarret was so patient and focused with each child. He helped them learn to use the excavators, cheered them on, and made sure they dug up lots of treasure. What a hit this was at my sons preschool! Such an easy set up and tear down because the adults don't have to do anything, Jarret takes care of everything! That alone is worth it. Although I supplied treasure and goodie bags there were some little cars that he included in case I didn't have anything to dig up, so that was a nice touch. First thing that I really noticed was how hands on he was with making the birthday boy feel special. Asked his name, let him go first and the longest time, drew attention to it being his special day. This job takes ALOT of patience on his part. He never got upset at the kids when explaining how to operate the diggers over, and over, and over, and over, and over and then 1000 more times. He scooped dirt into the diggers for the ones who didn't do too well so they didn't feel bad and congratulated them along the way. He could've just pulled up and sat in a chair for an hour but he was sweating on a 90 degree day trying to make it extra special for the kids and zero stress for the adults. Super great experience!
