I came along to Burnswick street to check these guys out l reticently been to a few street food…read moreevents and quite enjoyed what they had to offer. On arrival My first impressions where "oh is this it" l was a little disappointed with the selection that was there, the highlight of the show was the fruit & veg stall that was beside them where l bought myself some bananas. Food With the street food l expected quick fast, home cooked basically something different. The first stand that l went to was fire dog and this truck sold hot dogs & burgers. I chose the Firedog and for sure this did look amazing, but the amount of hot sauce that was put on was way overkill and the only flavour that l got was hot sauce my mouth was on fire all the way up the street. The hot dog was on a large half French baguette and when you calculate the size of sausage you would have to have a massive gob to take a bite. Next time l need to really check out all the vendors before choosing what to go for, l just saw the picture of the firedog van on Twitter and as l don't normally do hotdogs maybe that's why l went for it straight away. I would love to buy one of these vans though, but not sure what l would do with it.

Ok, I now feel like I've tried enough of what's on offer here that I can write a fair review. I'm…read moreall about street food and this seem to be a good idea. The times I've visited they've had about 6 different food trucks or stands, plus a market stand selling fruit and veg. There are usually places to get coffee and cake, ice cream or crepes in among the more substantial food options. What have I tried? Firebird pizzas: Sure, nothing new. I've had these pizzas in Firebird itself and their food truck is a common sight at events. Thing is, the pizzas are really good and they can be ready in 3 minutes. I chose the truffled mushroom and brie pizza and everything about it was perfect. Fresh Revolution: They do this seafood gumbo that's just amazing. I got so many mussels I thought I must have cheated somehow. Too good. Everyone else was into the Irish pakora and I'm sure it's great but the gumbo is important. The Buffalo Truck: These guys do buttermilk fried chicken rolls, chicken wings and fries. I got the buffalo chicken roll with parmesan fries and it was all really good, especially for the price but I wait about 35 minutes for it. They hadn't really found their rhythm when I arrived though, and I suspect they'll get quicker. However, if you see a queue, know that it takes a while to clear. Rost: Sliders and salads with pizazz. I tried the chicken slider which was nice, but smaller and pricier than the chicken rolls available from Buffalo. Also the guys running it were kind of rude. Maybe they were cold. So I still need to try Might Mexican, Firedog Hotdogs, Babu Kitchen, Chompsky, Cav&Co, Flat Out, Linton and Co, Equis, and on and on and on. Neither my waistline nor my bank balance will thank me but I doubt if I'll regret it.

Woah, Loving Food, woah…read more I've wanted to go to a pop-up restaurant for an eternity so when LFT announced that they'd be hosting their very own at Cowane's Hospital in Stirling, I jumped at the chance to get tickets. GUYS, there was a magician. He made a potato appear from air. If you hadn't guessed, 'magic' was the night's theme and Loving Food certainly put on one hell of a show. I was welcomed by LF's lovely Sandra who hugged me on arrival which made me quite possibly the happiest lady in the world. If you don't know the love-child, Hervé, that is Sandra and Stoobs' fabulous food truck then you're missing out. Get on that there Facebook, give them a search and I swear you'll be tempted by their drool-worthy daily menus, pictures of their truck antics and all-round general witty banter. If that doesn't have you running for the truck, I don't know what will. Food-wise, it was all delicious and then some. If I told you, I'd make you jealous. There was wild garlic soup, salmon gravlax, braised neck of lamb, caramelised lemon tart and some tasty little chocolate brigadeiros with tea to finish. All kinds of 'mmm.' All kind of 'yum.' All kinds of 'these guys are doing something really special.' I do love the Loving Food Truck. Not only are they bringing street food to Stirling, they're establishing a real foodie community. And that; that's something to be proud of. Count me in.

I got pork tacos and orange panacotta. The pork tacos had cheese and salad - I could have gotten spicy sauce to but I'm a wimp so I turned it down. They were well seasoned and lovely. Panacotta was a very generous portion and the orange topping was very pleasant indeed. Texture was exactly as it should be. Overall, a triumph, better than most of the restaurants in Stirling. This food truck has seating and is accessible for wheelchairs. You get to see the food being prepared. They have tea, coffee and soft drinks too. For what you get the food is cheap. Highly recommended.

There's lots to choose from - booze, food, cheese and as usual, everyone goes daft for the BBQ stuff so the queues are mental. My gang also reckoned it was in a smaller space than last year so the Saturday was very crowded, despite the fact it was outdoors. Didn't appear to be any attempt at capacity management which then has an impact on what food/drinks/tasters are available. Avoid - Dorset Cider company - cider was pretty bad and the raspberry cider is cider with raspberry puree in it, not raspberry cider like Kopparberg, etc. There was a cheese stall too that looked interesting - except they weren't cutting samples of cheese but letting people gouge it out with their hands - so hygienic, not. Bar Soba - meh Pad Thai, they had run out of prawns but from my portion, I was left wondering where the chicken was too. Jackie G had a lovely coconut chicken curry - GF too with tons of chicken and a decent size portion for £6. Less samples - definitely available in the morning when we arrived but by the afternoon, you were having to ask for them as they weren't being given out freely, though the cheese, wine and Parma ham stall were samples only and held up their end of the freebie's well. Free Lavazza coffee too. Toilets were meant to be posh ones rather than portaloo's. Again the gang reckoned more people than last year and less toilets. 10 minutes after my visit, late afternoon (they weren't nice then), they exploded. I was clear of the vicinity but I pity the poor sod's who weren't...

We started with a couple of their local draft beers, the chilaquiles(special) and the elote. The chilaquiles were delicious! Very flavorful but all the chips were quite soggy and a little thick. We also got a hot sauce on the side which was divine! It was spicy and had a great taste as well! The elote was sweet, juicy and the spices it was covered in were delicious! For our meals we got the steak and chorizo tacos, cauliflower tacos, Baja cod tacos and the pork carnitas tacos. All of the tacos were delicious! Again, the tortilla was a little thick, which was nice but it was falling apart a little. The cauliflower tacos already had a nice amount of spice to them. These were a great veg option for our vegetarian. The steak and chorizo tacos were interesting as it seems they were blended into a crispy pan fried patty and the sauce it came with was incredible. The cod tacos were my favorite! The fish was well seasoned, super crispy and very light! The sauce it was served with was rich abs tasty as well. I wasn't a fan of the pomegranate but that was my fault--should have ordered without it. They did not have any dessert. The service was also so great! The staff is very friendly and efficient. Would definitely recommend!

They have good specials and we ordered their two taco special. The beef in the tacos was on the tough side and definitely could have been more tender. The service was slow despite us being the only people in the shop at the time and the waitress we had was not very friendly. The margarita was weak and watery. Overall this was a disappointing stop and I likely wouldn't come again.
