Wasn't as many trucks as I had hoped there would be. So not the widest of selections Grabbed a pulled pork burger with coleslaw, the slaw was amazing however the pulled pork wasn't the greatest, plenty of filling however just made the bread soggy and unappetising The area is lacking enough seating , I was unable to sit and enjoy my messy meal All in all.....if I am passing again I'll get a coffee but nothing else

Did someone say tea?

Good Food Glasgow were down by the Clyde yesterday and I went along to try some dishes. They are at Brunswick Street every Saturday until nearing the end of May, with different trucks every week. So I thought I would share my experience... I arrived just after 1pm which I admit, was incredibly bad timing - lunchtime rush! I decided to queue up at Flat Out Food and the couple were honestly lovely, such nice people. They are going to be back in May so definitely look out for their green van with a table of daffodils out in front. They offer an amazing selection of teas too! I went for the Swedish Style Meatballs with pickled cucumber served on a warm flatbread with greens. It was DELICIOUS! Three succulent meatballs and the pickled cucumber was the perfect accompaniment. Very impressed! Beautifully presented. I've not had pizza in quite sometime so when I noticed there was Woodfired Pizzas on offer (Thanks Firebird!) I had to try them. I opted for the pepperoni and sundried tomato which was so yummy. Served in a pizza box, I took most of it home for dinner that evening. And it went down a treat! Even at Brunswick Street, expect these trucks to be busy and you can queue up for easily 10-20 minutes at a time. There was a fruit cart selling a range of fruits (£1.50 for a punnet of blueberries, strawberries or raspberries) and an ice cream van which was so tempting! I'll definitely be heading back to try a couple of things. I think it's a great idea they are changing the trucks so that each week you can experience something different if you choose to go along. And if the weather is nice, why wouldn't you?! Yeah seating was really limited (which isn't ideal) but is was worth while making do for some really tasty dishes!

For once Glasgow City Council gets it right! I really loved this idea and I hope they bring back the event during the summer months. I only got to visit once on a sunny Saturday and I'd like to go back and try more dishes. There was a great range of food on offer the day I was there. About 12 different vans serving up all kinds of tasty sounding stuff. I was on my way to dinner with friends so I decided to go for a sweet snack from Fresh Revolution (though I was VERY tempted by the creme brulee van). I had some poached rhubarb with raspberry whipped cream and it was really good. I would have liked a wee bit more seating but there are seats on Brunswick Street already so it was ok. If they did run this event again then a marquee on Candleriggs Square might be a good idea just in case it rains. Fingers crossed that Good Food returns as I think it's exactly what Glasgow needs.

If you see a Chompsky sign/event pop up make sure you go. The food is simply delicious!…read more I caught their pop up at the fantastic 'King of the Breville toastie' café Peña. They had an excellent choice for a small menu and catered well as Peña has no kitchen, so it's all in the prep. This was The Breakfast Club so had the choice of fresh pancakes or southern grits. I had never had grits before but the pancakes sounded amazing. I opted for the wholemeal pancakes, blow-torched with brown sugar bananas and coconut mascarpone. Oh man it was just heaven. I decided on a wee cheeky mocha from Peña to add to my sweet breakfast. Why not?! It was a lovely experience and I would definitely look out for another Chompsky event soon.

They had a small table set up on the street and on offer was American themed sweet, baked goodies. They had S'mores; 2 different types ~ peanut butter & jam or salted caramel and banana. Also on offer were Blondies (coconut & orange) and Pumpkin Cheesecake Brownies. Yum. All sounded lovely and all priced at £3. We went for one each of the P&J and salted caramel & banana s'more(s) and also I couldn't resist the brownie as I do love a good brownie and cheesecake so combining the 2 is just genius! The s'mores were finished off in front of your eyes with the addition of mini marshmallows and a blow torch. Having never eaten one of these before I was most intrigued...my boyfriend said his P&J one was brilliant and I did like my caramel & banana one but I can't say a s'more is something I would crave (s')more of (haha!). The brownie was really good ~ not quite enough of the pumpkin cheesecake in the slice I had but what I had of it was truly delicious. Maybe could've done with being a tad more moist, but that's just my preference. I am a fan of blondies (being a natural blondie myself, ho ho!) but I prefer the more brownie textured ones as opposed to the cake-like ones. So I didn't buy one of these although the combination of cocnut & orange does sound good. Nice people & lovely eats ~ just what we needed on a Sunday afternoon.

Woah, Loving Food, woah…read more I've wanted to go to a pop-up restaurant for an eternity so when LFT announced that they'd be hosting their very own at Cowane's Hospital in Stirling, I jumped at the chance to get tickets. GUYS, there was a magician. He made a potato appear from air. If you hadn't guessed, 'magic' was the night's theme and Loving Food certainly put on one hell of a show. I was welcomed by LF's lovely Sandra who hugged me on arrival which made me quite possibly the happiest lady in the world. If you don't know the love-child, Hervé, that is Sandra and Stoobs' fabulous food truck then you're missing out. Get on that there Facebook, give them a search and I swear you'll be tempted by their drool-worthy daily menus, pictures of their truck antics and all-round general witty banter. If that doesn't have you running for the truck, I don't know what will. Food-wise, it was all delicious and then some. If I told you, I'd make you jealous. There was wild garlic soup, salmon gravlax, braised neck of lamb, caramelised lemon tart and some tasty little chocolate brigadeiros with tea to finish. All kinds of 'mmm.' All kind of 'yum.' All kinds of 'these guys are doing something really special.' I do love the Loving Food Truck. Not only are they bringing street food to Stirling, they're establishing a real foodie community. And that; that's something to be proud of. Count me in.

I got pork tacos and orange panacotta. The pork tacos had cheese and salad - I could have gotten spicy sauce to but I'm a wimp so I turned it down. They were well seasoned and lovely. Panacotta was a very generous portion and the orange topping was very pleasant indeed. Texture was exactly as it should be. Overall, a triumph, better than most of the restaurants in Stirling. This food truck has seating and is accessible for wheelchairs. You get to see the food being prepared. They have tea, coffee and soft drinks too. For what you get the food is cheap. Highly recommended.

Mouths won't go hungry as local businesses set up stalls and seats outside. Burgers, pizza, chips, cakes and pastries: there's lots to fill you up whilst you're entertained by the parade. Outside Hillhead Bookclub is the over 18s area which is a good escape from the pushy prams. You just need to make sure you get a good spot or you might not get to see a lot!

The festival had so many things and I'm glad that it was free too seeing as it was in Kelvingrove Park! The atmosphere of family, children and friends of different cultures (many Indian folk, locals and a bunch of other random nationalities including myself :D) came by to chill out at the park. Whether it was to play with outdoor installations or at the fun fair, or listen to music with a pint under the sun, or watch silly performances by street artists (and magicians) or even dance along with the amazing traditional performers (and also Irish line dancers) the day was just great! My partner and I explored everything! We were down at the smaller stage listening to Indian music with toddlers dancing everywhere. And then we watched as a parade of what seemed to be circus performers walked by. We slept on the grass while having Pimm's cocktails and listening to some dj sets. And then watched the amazing performers by so many tradition local clubs! If you haven't been before, you should really consider going in the next years to come :) Update: also, went to Chop Pop's exhibition of her Love Letters to Glasgow in the Hillhead Library and it was wonderful! Her artwork is amazing and meticulous! She's also a friendly wee lady and I love her. Check out her facebook if you didn't manage to catch her!
