This is the first day of what is hoped to become a monthly festival of Street Food. There's a selection of food vendors from around the Edinburgh area including Barnacles & Bones and Fresh Revolution as well as the beers from Barney's. Most of the food offerings are around £6 so it's a nice way to try some of the best street food offerings of the city as well as experiencing some rather cool background music. Definitely recommended to get you away from the city centre and down into Leith

    Busy already at 1330

What a place!! If you're into eating and drinking good and different fares then this is the place to be. Currently on every Saturday from 12pm till late in a wee back alley in Leith, it's well worth a trip. The food trucks on offer changes week on week I believe and this week was a fab selection. Hot dogs, seafood, burgers, crepes - sounds like your normal street food but everything seemed to have a unique selling point. I had a halloumi bao bun which was incredible. Served with hoisin sauce and fresh cucumber and spring onion, it was unlike anything I've had before! They had a great selection of local drinks too. The portobello gin stall was a firm favourite of our and the guys were so knowledgeable and engaging we just couldn't help but keep going back! Highly recommend a visit if you're anywhere near the East Coast. It may be a bit out of Edinburgh City but a quick 10 minute bus journey got us there hassle free.

Fantastic first time at the Pitts in Edinburgh!

Love this place!!!!! What a great way to spend a Friday night, surrounded by great good and drink with live music and fantastic friends. The gin fizz from smith and gurtrude was out of this world- if you are a fan of gin and strawberry it's a must have. Also glad that I ended up sharing my falafel wrap as half was more than enough. And yes it well out of this world. Next time I am heading straight to the fro-yo stand! This may have to become a regular place for me!!! Thanks Pitt street

Whenever I'm in a new city, I try to find the pizza place locals argue about…read more In Edinburgh, that was Civerinos. This isn't trying to be classic New York and it isn't trying to be Neapolitan either. It lands somewhere in between with its own personality, and it works. The crust had great structure with just enough chew, the toppings were balanced instead of overloaded, and every slice held together exactly the way it should. You can tell they're using quality ingredients without feeling the need to advertise every supplier on the menu. As someone who has spent plenty of time eating pizza everywhere from Long Island to California, I appreciated that Civerinos wasn't chasing authenticity for authenticity's sake. It just focused on making a really good pie. The atmosphere fit the food too. Casual, energetic, and the kind of place that feels equally right for a quick slice or hanging out with friends over a full pie and a beer. Edinburgh has an outstanding food scene, and Civerinos deserves to be part of that conversation. If I lived here, I'd be back often.

The crust was perfectly light and crispy. I had the wild mushroom & prosciutto. Highly recommend it! Highly. Hubby got The Civerinos- had a little kick, ricotta, pepperoni, marinara and parmigiana. He said it was amongst some of the best pizzas he ever had. Drinks were excellent. Severs were skater girls. Restaurant was clean, well ventilated, and comfortable.
