The middle pedal on our upright Steinway was not really working (it hadn't since we could remember). Justice offered to come a second time a few days later with some special tools to fix the pedal, even though this had not been budgeted or planned. Justice was also super sweet with our teenage daughter, who was genuinely interested in watching Justice work on her piano to understand how it is done. After a recent move, I wanted to find somebody relatively local to service my piano and, after doing some research, found Jake. All I can say is that the reviews about him are extremely accurate! Communication was excellent, he is punctual, and he will give you a pretty accurate estimate on the pricing prior to booking the appointment. The piano sounded great after the initial tuning, and he also replaced some clips on the Dampp-Chaser that were damaged during the move, as well as replacing the pads and liner. I had some regulation work done on the piano about 20 years ago and was never very happy with the piano action after that work. I mentioned this to Jake and he told me that the regulation was currently not in spec. He spent some time asking me what I disliked about the action, and he felt like there were many things that could be done to improve the playability. We scheduled a few additional appointments, and I couldn't be happier with the results! I think it actually plays and sounds even better than when I first purchased it many years ago, so if you are looking for somebody to service your piano, Jake has my highest recommendation!

I asked them to add the value of the piano to the contract and they refused. At one point they didn't want me to call so we had to go back and forth over text. Who does business that way??? To have the piano covered for its full value they asked me to pay $150 extra for insurance. How can a piano moving company not have their own liability insurance that covers the total cost of a piano??? Eventually I got tired of texting and went with someone else. Bottom line, train the people answering the phone so they understand the business, can make decisions and don't have to go back and forth to "the boss" and make the customers wait all day over text to get basic agreements settled. Very unprofessional.

I needed to move a grand piano from Westchester to Queens. I contacted this company and was given…read morean estimate which seemed reasonable. There is also an extra 3% surchage if you use a credit card. There were no long, twisting stairwells to navigate (which I believe increases the cost), so a relatively straight-forward move. The company was very responsive via email with answers to my questions (usually within a day) and we booked a date. It snowed the day before the move, but the movers showed up on time, were very professional, and the move went very smoothly. I did not notice any issues upon delivery. I have a Dampp Chaser system attached to the bottom of the piano to help regulate the humidity around the sound board. About 1 week after delivery, I noticed that one of the bars from the Dampp Chaser was on the floor hanging from its power cable. It turns out that two clamps that hold the bar in place were broken, and the bar eventually fell (I think from general vibrations from playing the piano). I suppose maybe this could have been from just general wear, but the timing with the move was just a little odd, and it was two clips, not just one. I contacted the company via email (using the same e-mail address that I had used previously) with photos of the problem and received absolutely no reponse. Eventually, it was a pretty simple, inexpensive repair, but I was a little disappointed in their lack of response (which is why I took off a star), and just wonder what would have happened if we were dealing with a bigger problem. I'm not going to pass judgement, I was otherwise happy with the move, but you can read about the interaction and decide for yourself how important this is if you chose to use this company. Update: So the company did reach to me, took responsibility for the damage, and offered to make it right. At this point, I did not take them up on their offer since it turned out to be a relative easy and inexpensive repair, but I just wanted to acknowledge their follow-up.
