So let's start with the good. The crab cake was ok for a frozen crab cake. The grilled salmon was good and the shrimp was pretty good. The kung pao Brussel sprouts were probably the best part of the meal. While a little slow the drinks were amazing! What's no so good: the steak is bland, the Mac and cheese just horrible, the risotto was pretty bad too. Crispy potatoes wouldn't sell if you put them on a Denny's menu. Service was poor and that I attribute to our waiter, I'm not sure if he was high or tired, although there weren't many smiles on anyone's faces. Happy hour 3-6 martinis $7 wine$6, 3 different s appetizers $7 each calamari, ahi poke and mussels. Delicious. Tonight husband had the steak I had the Rockefeller Butterfish. This spot was just down the road from our little resort hideaway tucked next to the CVS across from Sea World. I'm one of those types who loves to sit at the bar rather than being stuck amongst a dining room of tourists with screaming kids, etc. A great choice tonight... Melvin is the barkeep tonight; very affable and nice young man. He answered all our questions and offered honest opinions about each item we queried, too! He didn't rush us at all, which is great because when we are out and running a good vibe, we LOVE to take our time and soak everything in! There was only one other person seated at the bar. A few couples were scattered around at high tops in the bar area, but none anywhere near our spot. The low lighting and '80's plus Motown mix on the music system was awesome! We began with beef and ginger potstickers. Several little pockets of dumpling dreaminess laid atop a soy-sesame sauce and what can be best described as an ounce or two out of a chopped salad kit. The sauce made even those crappy lawn clippings taste nom noms! Queen Bee asked for Cod Imperial; cod (oddly enough) stuffed with crab, shrimp, mutz and parmesan cheese, topped with lemon caper butter. Sounds a wee bit rich for my blood; the same stuffing is offered as an app but with tortilla chips rather than a cod cadaver. I in turn had opted for a so-called perfect pairing: steak and crab cake. Sirloin medium please! We both ordered mashed taters as one side. I got sautéed spinach and she: steamed broccoli for the second one. Premium sides are an extra $4; not worth it given what they charge for their entrees in the first place! Her cod was tasty, albeit a bit overcooked.! As I figured, it was a bit rich for my blood. Since, however, it was a SMALL piece of fish I'd likely have finished it. My crab cake was nice too. Little filling, a lot of lump crabmeat but also kinda small... Where the train fell off the rails is with my steak. I ordered it, as stated above, medium. I cut into it and it was well done. I immediately got the attention of our friendly barkeep, who quickly whisked the plate away. Manager type named Courtney came around a moment later and apologized profusely. Offered me a free salad or bowl of soup as I waited; no. I just want my entree made properly, and a fresh plate of everything. In the meantime our boy Melvin told me that my entree was on the house; major screw up on their part, I'm thinking. So the entrees were both not what they could've been. My steak came out a great medium this time. New crab cake and new bowl of spinach too. Biggest gripe is the mashed taters. All they are is basic plain Jane mashed taters with (too much) garlic powder. Blah!! So why four stars? It sure wasn't the value for the food, to put it politely. Melvin, the atmosphere as well as how nice Courtney was in making things right...otherwise no more than three stars at most! I've been to bonefish multiple times and has always been impressed with their service and food quality. I'm from out of town and every time I make it to Orlando, I always hit up bonefish for their big bang Shrimp Appetizer which is creamy, Tangy and savory all at the same time. I try their Seabass for the first time and again was very impressed with how delicious everything turned out. The green beans were crunchy and the Seabass Fell apart with every bite. I selected this place solely based on the fact it had a solid four star rating plus it was only 2 miles from our hotel. We arrived at 7:30 and did not need a reservation. The dining room had a nice subdued lighting atmosphere and was beautifully decorated. I ordered the Cod Imperial which is a house favorite. The fish was stuffed with shrimp, scallops, crabmeat, Mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses and topped off with a lemon caper sauce. A choice of two signatures sides comes with the entree. I choose the AuGratin potatoes and the Seasonal Vegetables. The potatoes were excellent and cheesy. The green beans were better than the usual restaurant string beans because they were cooked thoroughly. The entree was superb! Absolutely outstanding! The grandson ordered the Blackened Baja Fish Tacos. They were spicy and didn't have much taste according to him but then he is not a connoisseur of fancier cooking. The granddaughter had her usual chicken strips from the kids menu. They satisfied her. I found the lemonade to be watered down and not tart at all. We opted to skip dessert. It was a little unappetizing that our waiter was so incredibly sweaty that he was constantly wiping his face. He was drenched. We ordered the Ahi tuna sashimi -- it is actually seared tuna and was quite good. The flavor was good and we enjoyed it. We thought we were off to a good start. I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass with broccoli and asparagus. The veggies were good but the Sea Bass was not. This is a fish restaurant, but they served me rubbery, overcooked fish. I was disappointed in the fish but I was hungry and ate it. I don't send back food unless it is inedible, typically. I hate wasting my time sending back and waiting for new food. The restaurant is very nice, clean and laid out well with plenty of parking. Service is always good at a Bonefish location and this one was no exception. The brunch offerings are a bit larger than expected with some creative seafood inspired takes on brunch classics. That being said, what we tried wasn't very good. The California omelette was tiny, watery and flavorless. The bacon was completely soggy and the toast was dry with nothing provided to put on it. The French toast tasted like slightly sugary bread with almost no flavor and even more soggy bacon. Started with a couple happy hour offerings priced at $5-$6. Artichoke fritti was nice. Lightly fried with capers and a nice aioli. The fried cod sliders were excellent as well, lightly battered served on small brioche buns. Happy hour drink specials were pleasing as well priced at $6. Tom collins and a Titos raspberry collins are worth a try. Excellent variety on the main menu including beef, chicken, seafood, soups and salads. We are at the Bonefish in Orlando. Our server was Callie, who was fantastic. She was there to get what we wanted and suggest what was good. The atmosphere was good and comfortable. Service was great and good excellent. We ordered the Corn / Lump Crab Chowder which was very tasty and filling. It really does have chunks of crab. I go the Spicy Albacore Tuna Bowl which was tasty and filling. My wife got the Pineapple Glazed Shrimp with Coconut Risotto which was also fantastic. No sure if that is the correct name. It was on the special of the day menus. For my drink I got the 1901 Dirty Martini. When I moved it to get the picture, I dumped it. Cali brought me another one without charging. My hotel is right next door and we were too tired to wait for the first available table which was at 8pm. We ordered takeout and I was just thrilled to eat in my room. Easy to order online and pay at the restaurant. Very friendly service at the takeout area. Ordered calamari that was greasy from the too much deep fryer oil. The mahi mahi was overcooked with shiny mashed potatoes and mushy broccoli. The scallop and shrimp scampi pasta had 3 shrimp and a few tiny bay scallops. Pasta was slimy and not completely drained.
