Very disappointed with our experience at Bonefish Grill last night. We had made reservations weeks in advance for a local charity event and specifically requested seating in the bar area. Our reservation was for a table of 8, and I even called the day before to confirm that our table would be in the bar area for the event. When we arrived 15 minutes early for our 5:45 PM reservation, we were informed that a group had been sitting at the table since 2:00 PM and management did not want to ask them to move, despite our confirmed reservation. As a result, the reservation we had planned and confirmed weeks in advance was not honored. The purpose of making a reservation is to ensure accommodations will be available at the agreed-upon time. Failing to honor a confirmed reservation, especially for a group attending a community charity event, is extremely disappointing and reflects poor customer service and management. My wife and I decided to stay in Lafayette for the night and this place was across from our hotel. Since it was within walking distance we gave it a shot. We probably should have looked at the reviews first. Service was excellent - Amelia our server was great, took our orders quickly, and was just great all around. The problem was the food. My hamburger was overdone- the patty was black and it wasn't from blackening spices. The patty was cooked too long and tasted burnt. I ordered a Caesar salad that was completely over dressed to the point that I couldn't eat it. My wife's salad was lacking and didn't have much apart from shaved Brussels sprouts and romaine lettuce. Too bad. Great ambience in the place, friendly staff but they dropped the ball with the food, which was surprising given that it didn't seem like a very busy night for them. read more

We always have a great time and meal at Bonefish. Victoria is a super bartender and does a great job taking care of us, from excellent cocktails to a slightly chilled glass of quality house Cabernet. My wife always orders the steak with chimichurri. It is fantastic and the thing to order if you are undecided. I am more of a fish person and whether the terrific Asian Butterfish or the Salmon with Mango Salsa, the fish is always cooked perfectly. And the garlic mashed potatoes are scrumptious. I suggest that you advertise that your establishment can accommodate for large parties for Mardi Gras Balls, without having to put down a huge fee. My first observation when getting my meal was the surprisingly small portions. I got the osscar snapper and the serving of fish was about 1 and a half inches wide by about 2 1/2 to 3 inches long. I was expecting a bit more since the menu said it was a filet but this was not a full filet and was a small square of fish. The sides were also very lacking with a small side of beans and a spoonful of rice. I paid $32 for this and wish I had taken a picture to post of it. I was very unsatisfied and still hungry. Now on to the meals the others got. Their meals were also very small portions. One friend got the salmon and it was about the same portions as I got. Another friend got the filet mignon and the filet was not only small but they ordered it medium rare and the steak came nearly blue rare so be careful when ordering the steaks as they did not cook it to what was asked. The portion on the steak was a typical size for a filet but again the sides were almost laughable. Aside from the very small portions for meals that are 30 to 40 dollars the weight staff was also not great. They did check on us but as we were trying to talk amongst each other and visit the staff kept interjecting and trying to join our conversations unwanted even when not asking if we needed anything. They repeatedly stopped and leaned over the half wall and interrupted to talk about themselves and their job and even asked what we were doing the next day unprompted. I found this very strange and it was unwanted as we did not try to engage in conversation with them or try to have a conversation other than the normal when they were refilling drinks. I found this very rude to keep interrupting us and join in our conversations as they were eavesdropping. I do not recommend this restaurant. Overall a lacking experience. They need to increase the portion sizes as the food quality was not amazing and I did not feel it was deserving of the price. If the food had been outstanding quality then the portions may have been fine but it was about the same quality food as you would expect at Texas roadhouse but much more expensive and very small servings. Also the staff needs to be better instructed in how to weight tables so that they are tending to the customers but not interrupting them with their own random conversation unprompted and randomly when not tending to a table. I've never had this experience and don't care for it. A simple how is everything and then moving on would be fine but the leaning over the wall and listening in on us talking and then trying to join in is not alright when we were trying to visit. My seafood pasta dish was very light on tasteless scallops, and imported shrimp and very heavy on small to medium sized mussels (still in their shells). The dish would have been merely disappointing without the watery, unpleasant tasting, messy sauce. With the sauce, it became a "why would anyone serve this" entree. The bang bang shrimp appetizer was good...the bread was ok. Overall, the place is several notches below Red Lobster. Went to Bonefish Grill Saturday February 15, 2025. We arrived about 5:50 and were seated right away. We waited around for over 15 minutes and had not been waited on. People that came in after us were getting their appetizers. Wait Staff were dashing around everywhere but at our table. We ended up walking out no one asked us about our food, etc. I might add this is the second time this happened. We will not be back. The tables are close together. Took my wife out for a date night. Place was busy and the waitress was apologetic for the food taking so long. Wife had a beer, I had a coke and a Bang/Bang Shrimp while we waited. Yea, the food was delivered to the table, it looked great, it was COLD. Not even room temp. I called the waitress over and she was again apologetic. Second round for food took almost as long as the first. When it came out, it was COLD AGAIN. Ask for a manager but the waitress came back saying she was busy. I told the waitress we were going to go, We were not waiting around for round three. I could see the waitress talking to what looked like the manager. Waitress came back to the table with a bill for the drinks & BB Shrimp. I laughed and ask for the manager again. Waitress came back and said there would be no charge. I gave her a $20 for her time (it was not her fault) we got fast food on our way home. At least it was HOT. What a crappy date night. I have to add we come here every couple months. The food has always been pretty good and plenty hot. This time, not so much. What really irritated us was the managers not give a crap attitude. read more

I used to enjoy going to Bonefish, it was a reliable upscale dining experience with quality food and ambience. I am in town for work and just want to grab a quick salad for dinner. Most of the options are fast food chains so I thought I could rely in Bonefish.... Wrong. I walked in and the whole ambiance is more of an old pub then upscale. I sat at bar and ordered the harvest spinach salad (goat cheese, cranberries and apples) with salmon, i wanted to try the beef potstickers so I got that as well. Potstickers arrived fried swimming in a pool of soy sauce. There were 8 in total and there was a bed of. CAbbage, pumpkin seeds, onions and other veggies. Seemed like a salad on its on. I was weary that it would be too salty and it was. Had I known I would have asked the soy sauce to be placed on the side. Not sure if this is how it supposed to be served, seemed unusual. The whole salad/veggies tasted off. I love veggies. I can and will clean my plate, but there was something very off. The salad arrived and right away I noticed the spinach appeared wilted and the apples brown! I really do not like to complain about food, it throws the whole vibe off and you can't enjoy the meal. I planned to pick out the apples and move on. The salmon was covered in spices but tastes like nothing. I don't even know how that is possible! I had to ask hot sauce just to make it edible. Surprised that they have only cholula and siracha in a Louisiana restaurant. Where's the crystal?? bartender came to check on me in between and I didn't want to complain I just wanted to get out of there, but I told her the apple s were brown and not fresh, didn't mention anything else. I told her so please don't say anything I just will put them to side, eat and move on. Of course a manager comes over and disrupts my dinner. I heard you a problem with the apples? At this point I am livid. I have a problem??? The apples are clearly not fresh and browning. He goes on to say they are marinated, that's why they are like that. I have never had a salad with soggy, brown, marinated apples, and I am pretty sure that is not the intent of the recipe. Tossing fresh apples in a vinaigrette before serving maybe, but not marinating them to brown mush and gas lighting customers into thinking that is the recipe, I don't think so. I ate what I could, promptly paid and left. Paid $34 for that absolutely disappointing meal, I still tipped the bartender $8. Never again will I patronize bonefish. read more

The waitress did admit that it did taste funny, when she compared it to a new drink. When he got his new drink it still wasn't right. We smelt a funny smell like dirty mop water while we were eating. That was not good. The imperial dip was good. The food was 7/10, Bacon Mac and Cheese had no taste. We both had the Sirloin they didn't cook it how we asked. The garlic potatoes were amazing.
