Wow. I wasn't expecting to be blown away by a chain restaurant. The Bang Bang Shrimp, as mentioned, are completely delicious, but so is every other thing on the menu that we tried. Definitely make reservations, this place was hopping on Saturday night. Both my charming companion's fish entree and my steak entree were amazing, and cooked just right. The crab cakes were also fantastic. Tried the Key Lime Pie for dessert, only to be once again amazed. The best part? They serve Blue Bell ice cream, imported from Texas. A huge bonus. Our waiter was attentive, willing to chat, and put in our drink orders before happy hour ended but didn't bring them out until we were ready for our meal. This ain't Red Lobster! I loved my meal. I don't say that very often. However in this case, Bonefish earned my amorous description. I have eaten at far more expensive restaurants that were not nearly as enjoyable! I had the corn chowder, Arctic char entree with potato au'gratin and snap peas. I then had the strawberry shortcake dessert. Every item was excellently prepared and left me fully satisfied. I wouldn't call Bonefish an inexpensive restaurant, however I feel it offers excellent value when taking the exceptional quality into account. My server was fantastic as well. I stuck to his recommendations and I'm glad I did. He was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. So, would I eat here again? In a heartbeat! No interest in returning. Visited on a Saturday at 6:30. We used to frequent this restaurant for a wonderful experience. Not so as they have added so many tables, so close together it could be an escape hazard. Felt sorry for the servers. The noise level was extreme. Could not visit with my guest and since the tables weren't even staggered by the half wall, I was a foot away from another guest, heard her whole conversation. Felt like we were in a mess hall, not a five star restaurant. Server apologized for the delay in food prep. Food was only average. This was an amazing place to eat! I loved how when my family and I first walked in how welcoming the staff was. Our server was fantastic as well! She explained everything and had a lot of wonderful suggestions. We have eaten at several Bonefishs before and they were great. This one in Johnstown is the Exception. We have given it several times and it's always the same; small portions, fish was gummy,,,only thing good was the salad and bread. We hear the same thing from several friends of ours. Went there tonight for an early dinner. Service was good, but each person was disappointed with some aspect of their meal. My dad got the cod and said is was tough and chewy. The man has eaten fish all over the world and expected a better piece of fish for that price point. My son and stepmom couldn't understand why they don't fully cook their rice. Still crunchy. I remember returning my rice a year ago for the same reason. Come on...I've lived in Asia....cook your rice! If people are leaving on their plats there is something wrong. I am a gluten free vegan and the house dinner salad was lovely but I ordered the entree size and it was not filling. I came home and ate another meal. This is the second time we have been to Bonefish, and both times we had a very enjoyable experience. The 1st time it was just the wife and myself, this time we took our kids. Everyone found something to eat, and if you are trying to eat healthy, you can do so here with out much effort. Very nice plus. I had the grouper with the mango salsa, it was cooked perfectly and the mango salsa paired very nicely - I wish it was at least some what spicy though. My wife had the trout with the Asain sauce, she said it was very good as well - the sauce was pretty much a fancy teriyaki. This time we tried the Bang Band shrimp, my wife and my 8yr old really liked them. I thought they were OK, but nothing I would honestly go there to get. Last time we got the Wagyu Beef + Ginger Dumplings, and we both agreed they were AWESOME! I'd much rather have those, but my wife really did like the Bang Bang shrimp. Ehhh no accounting for taste (other than marrying me of course). Service both times was good, last time I remember it being exceptional, this time I remember it being good. One thing to note, this place get's BUSY!!! Don't go if your in a hurry unless you have reservations! We didn't have them on a Saturday night, but they were able to make us some a little over an hour after we called to check for call ahead (which they don't do). They got us in right on time or a few minutes early. Coming from California, we miss good fresh seafood. While Bonefish doesn't completely fill that void, it does help. read more

Had dinner there tonight. Amazing service and manager, they made it great. Calamari appetizer was stellar, great dipping sauce. I ordered the pad Thai and unfortunately it was too spicy for me to eat. Flavor was great but I couldn't eat it. I asked for an alternate dish seafood gnocchi, which was wonderful but I fully expected to pay for the pad Thai, it wasn't their fault it was too spicy for my wimpy taste buds, but they kindly removed it from my bill without even asking. Short: Make a reservation, food is B+, quite consistent, service B+ Long: Bonefish is close, and a great place to go with friends, provided you know in enough time to make a reservation ( which is quite easy via their website). The fist time I went, I left as it was over an hour wait. Even though I make reservations now, you still usually have to wait 10-15 min after your time. The place is always buzzing, if that's not your style I have yet to be there on a "quiet" night. The servers are knowledgeable, decent selection of beer and drinks. The food is good, always consistent and they offer some great specials but you cant go wrong with the standbys. read more

I have recently been back to Bonefish to try some of their more expensive dishes and all I can say is WOW! The Imperial Long fin is a great dish at $17 and is most definitely one of the best seafood dishes I have had in this area. It was well worth the price and I would absolutely order again. This is always on the menu! The latest thing I had was Arctic Char. It was a seasonal item so it will probably not be available for long. This is a cross between Trout and Salmon. It came topped with blue cheese, bacon and spinach and it was truly a masterpiece! I think this was around $18 After trying some of the more expensive dishes I can easily say that Bonefish deserves that extra star from my last review! Don't let my review be your reason for going/not going to this place. Just go and be the judge yourself. Okay so, last Sunday, my husband and I went there for my birthday. We get there and there is no wait. In fact, it was actually pretty empty. So we asked for a booth. The hostess comes back and says, "is it okay for a half table, half booth?" Annoyed but politely we reply, "sure." So as they sat us, "my husband asks, "can I ask you a question, why is it that there are so many empty booths yet we can't sit in one?" I think this was the assistant manager who sat us and she said, "well we save those for our reservations." But that's just complete BS. The hostess AND the assistant manager just wanted to single us out for whatever reason. I mean I actually just go into every business with the attitude that we are now dealing with total loser millennials that DO NOT want to work and have a total attitude with EVERYTHING. But this by far was one of the worst. So we sit down. And NO JOKE wait for 20 MINUTES before the RUDE and entitled server came over and asked what we wanted to drink. So I said, "well gosh can we at least finally get some waters?!?" And she literally looked at us like, "wow the nerve of you to talk to me like that." So my husband and I timed her to get our waters. We waited ANOTHER exactly 7 minutes. So while we waited, we called The Chophouse right down the street and we left to go there. Had the absolute BEST experience at that adorable & charming restaurant and left a really nice tip. And it was so refreshing to be welcomed with a sweet smiling face at The Chophouse and have such a sweet and lively server. So if you're not having the best experience at Bone Fish, head over to The Chophouse. It DOES NOT disappoint. read more

The only reason I even gave 2 stars is the cleanliness of the restaurant was on point and our server was outstanding. We hadn't eaten here in many years since last time we had such a bad experience but decided to give them one last try. For my husband's bday no less. Bang bang shrimp was good but not as spicy as it needed to be and a TINY portion for $14. For dinner we got their butterfish and they put so much seasoning on it that it tasted like it had been smoked with burnt wood. I almost had to send it back to get no seasoning but I was able to scrape it off and eat what I could. The crab topping was minuscule, I'm not kidding it was one bite and covered maybe the very edge of the entire fish. I couldn't eat the creamed spinach (gross). The mashed potatoes were nothing special. My child didn't like the mac and cheese, said it tasted off. Fries were good but tiny portions once again. Cole slaw was from a bag with not even close to enough dressing. The sides in general to choose from were abysmal. For the high price, portions and terrible food, regrettably we will not be back and will steer friends and family from eating there unless they get bang bang and a beverage only. The interior revamp was unimagined and the booths reminded me of fazoli's with pics of their food on them and there's 0 sound buffers in the ceiling and the entire restaurant is open to the bar so it's LOUD! read more

This place was gross, first of all note to self if you walk into a restaurant and the lights have been dimmed so much you can't see your menu to read they are hiding something. My husband ordered a steak that came raw and frozen in the middle the waitress said they have a problem with their grill where sections of it doesn't heat properly. The waitress went on to say (after she brought it to us the second time still raw) that the owner knows about the grill but won't buy a new one because it's to expensive. On top of that the kids food looked like it came right out of a kraft box or something and totally inedible. Luckily (or unluckily)we were there for my birthday so I paid with a gift card after they comped the steak which was not touched. I won't be back and hopefully the owner buys a new grill before they give someone salmonella poisoning from under cooked food. read more

After a few mediocre visits, my husband was craving the bang bang shrimp so we decided to go and wow!!!! Our meals were incredible and we left fully satisfied. The bang bang shrimp is seriously to die for. Crispy and hot, the flavors are on point. Then I had the filet mignon, mashers, and broccoli. Steak was cooked perfectly and sides were delicious. My husband was equally satisfied with his steak. My honey crisp martini was weak and a bit disappointing but the meal was so good I was wiling to overlook it. We will be returning soon! read more

This place used to be mine & my wife's favorite place to go. Now that they removed most of the decor added so many tables that it is very uncomfortable. You are so close to other tables that you can barely walk through. Service has seriously slowed down & decreased in quality. The food quality had severely gone down hill & does not match the increased prices make it not worth the trip. This will probably be my wife's & my last time coming here. My husband and I had a night out and Ended up at the Bonefish Grill. The menu looked great and there was a $10 holiday coupon on their website, a winning combination. We have just recently moved to Loveland from NH and haven't changed our drivers licenses yet, so when I ordered a martini, our server examined my ID and ended up bringing it back to check it since he had never seen a NH ID before. This would have been fine (flattering actually since I'm 28 years old and hardly even get ID'd anymore) save for the fact that we saw him show multiple employees while laughing for about 5 minutes, then came over and preceded to quiz me on my birthdate. Luckily, I passed or we would have left and gone somewhere else. As for the food, I had the bang bang shrimp tacos with a side of French fries, and they were delicious. I had the white cosmopolitan, which I must say was worth all the ID trouble. Yum. My husband had the American Kobe Beef burger which he wasn't too partial to. He paid an extra $4 for the side of white truffle Mac and cheese which was good, but he said he would have rather had the fries. All in all, we had a decent experience and we would go back again to try a different dish, although maybe we'll wait until we get our Colorado ID's. read more

At first glance, the menu appeared to be that of a fine dinning-restaurant. Good selection but not too much. Four of us had very different opinions of our meal. Three out of four of us would give this place a 4.5 rating. However I give it three stars. I had the Chilean Sea Bass, au gratin potatoes and green beans, as well as a cup of Lobster Bisque. My soup was room temperature, green beans were unseasoned, au gratin potatoes looked as though they were from a box, taste was pretty much the same. The saddest was the Sea Bass. It was a beautiful filet of Fish, however it had no flavor and it To was unseasoned, boring and flavorless. ( I have eaten Sea Bass in the finest of Restaurants all over the Country). Service was mediocre. However, again the rest of my party gave 4.5 stars. I will definitely eat Sea Bass in another restaurant where the Chef knows how to properly season a meal.
