Hawaiian Roll, Montana Roll and Tuna Handrolls
    Nicole H.

So glad we found this place as our go to sushi spot has been going downhill lately. Japango has a really cool vibe in the restaurant with a jellyfish tank. The sushi bar is in the back of the restaurant with seating available. Our server was great, since it was our first time in she did go over the different menus for us. We ordered; Crispy Brussels Sprouts - these were really good and have a slight kick of spice to them. Would definitely order again. Miso soup - good flavors but neither of us had any tofu pieces. Two salmon hand rolls - really tasty! Would order again. Hawaiian/rainbow roll - loved this roll, the California roll inside was really good and the fish on top was fresh and tasted great. Montana Roll - this was so tasty! Some restaurants will use a torch for beef on sushi and that's all you can taste but that wasn't the case here and the whole roll was really good. California Roll - we were still hungry and ordered this and their cali crab mix is really great! We also got a pot of the Lady earl grey and it was really good. You do get a lot of tea from the pot and we wanted to take a to go cup with the rest of it but they don't have hot to go cups, which was a bummer. Overall - a great sushi spot and we will definitely be back!

A genuine gem of Fort Collins, Fantastic Sushi, Sashimi, bento, etc. Amongst other things was the friendly environment and incredibly joyful staff, who seem like they're enjoying their job, not simply acting nice for minimum wage. Incredibly clean, exquisite.

Magic Mushroom you get four and it's not worth it.

Like many of you will do, I ignored a lot of the red flag reviews because of the ambiance and hope of good sushi in FoCo. And like many of you will do, I left feeling like I won't need to go back. The food is fine, but they're trying too hard to be upscale. With small portions at high prices, you can get away with it if the food is absolutely amazing, but missed that part; it was just fine. We got some sashimi moriawase, but the server didn't bother telling us what was what-- but disappointingly, she didn't have to because there were only three VERY THINLY sliced kinds of fish. (See pic) We also ordered the lobster potsticker (don't call it a potsticker if the bottom is not seared, it's just a dumpling.) which was mid, as the kids say... And we got the magic mushrooms which were the size of my thumb nail. (See pic) Overall, insanely overpriced for the quality of food. Not worth it, in my opinion. Server was nice.

Service was great overall ambiance is super nice too. Clean and cozy inside. LOVE the jellyfish tank. The food was good not great. Best bite was the unagi nigiri in my opinion. The El Corozon roll was delicious too. The otoro was super disappointing for being such a nice cut of fish. Love nothing more than a rice tea so I was really happy they had one here! Huge selection of rolls and drinks. Next time I'd skip out of nigiri or sashimi and probably just order a fun roll - seems to be more their specialty.

Definitely not a cheap place to go, but the quality here is amazing! I've been twice so far - sat at the bar both times. Service the second time was incredibly attentive and I enjoyed a few things off the happy hour menu - a glass of house red, the hamachi jalapeño (so fresh and savory) and then the Gilded Bee roll for $2 off. The first visit we tried the Heart's Desire which is quite similar to the Gilded Bee but with serrano chiles and sweet mayo instead of a habanero and lemon masago and black truffle honey. Both are absolutely delicious - highly recommend! I never finish an entire roll myself, but I couldn't stop until it was gone. We got the Magic Mushrooms the first visit (avocado wrapped with seared salmon, topped with dynamite sauce) and they were delicious, albeit the salmon quite fishy. We finished on the Green Tea Crème Brûlée which was OUT OF THIS WORLD, and paired it with a piping hot cup of their green tea. The first visit took a while to get acknowledged, and also about 15 minutes of us waiting to get change, but the second time more than redeemed. The bar is comfortable, there's a giant tank with jellyfish in the middle of the restaurant, and they just opened their patio which I look forward to enjoying as summer rounds the corner.

Hearts Delight, so decadent and really touches the heart warmth!

Yum!! So excited for some good sushi in Fort Collins! We had the miso black cod, a yellow tail maki, the Diablo roll, the lobster potstickers, and a kitsunes kiss roll. Everything was very good! The decor and vibe inside was very nice and clean! The staff was knowledgeable, quick, and on top of it. Very please with our dinner.

Prickly Oasis and I can't remember the 2nd one but it was non alcohol.

Wow, Fort Collins needed a great sushi restaurant. Long overdue. So good, so fresh. Decent service. Great atmosphere, we sat on the patio to people watch. We got so much food and all was great! I got the Prickly Oasis and the Sandy Beach. Prickly Oasis was my fav out of the 2, Sandy Beach was also very good but was a little out of place - should've been drinking it on the beach. Husband got the Japango soda and enjoyed it. For apps we got miso soup, tempura veggies, seaweed salad, hamachi carpaccio, and edamame. All were really great, we even got a shrimp on the tempura veggies that was misplaced. We didn't mind! For our meal, we got Hiro, Kitsune's Kiss, Hearts Delight and one of the specials called something like When Tuna meets Scallop. Hiro and Kitsune were our absolute favs. Hearts was a close runner up. We did not love the special, it has a sour plum in it and turns out we don't like sour plums haha. Definitely will be back!!

Ace Gillett's -- The Best Speakeasy Vibe in Fort Collins…read more Ace Gillett's is one of our favorite spots in Fort Collins -- a fun, underground bar with true speakeasy vibes. Cozy booths, dim lighting, live music, a full bar, and genuinely delicious food make it the kind of place you want to linger. We love coming here with friends and sharing appetizers: flatbread pizza, fries, Brussels sprouts -- everything is consistently great. We've celebrated our daughter's 21st birthday here, and celebrated our new home here. It's perfect for date night, girls' night out, or a cozy, relaxing evening with live music. One of the best things about Ace Gillett's is how flexible it is. As my husband and I say, it's an "every evening place" -- you can splurge on an incredible full meal or spend $15 on a happy hour drink and an appetizer. It works for any occasion and any budget. And the location is unbeatable: tucked beneath the historic Armstrong Hotel in the heart of downtown Fort Collins. Super convenient if you're staying there, and a wonderful spot to add to any night out. Highly recommended.

The bar almost resembles something you might find in a small European hotel, which may suggest they are aiming for a slightly upscale tone, though it never feels pretentious. The seating is varied, with small tables and retro chairs that seem intentionally chosen rather than bought in bulk. The spacing is better than most coffee shops, which makes it easy to settle in without feeling crowded. The back area opens up even more, and the soft drapery adds a touch of personality that appears to hint at events or just a bit of flair. The staff continues to be the standout for me. Everyone I spoke with was kind in a way that felt natural, and they knew the menu well enough to help me navigate dairy free options. I usually order the avocado toast on focaccia because it is consistently fresh. The bread looks oversized at first but is airy and soft, and the avocado and radish topping feels simple in the best way. The matcha made with water has also become a go to since it tastes smooth and well-bodied without that chalky, thin finish some places have. My partner and I visited during their Dia de Los Muertos weekend and tried a few themed items. Everything was good, and they were quick to suggest dairy free choices. Prices seem fair, even with the general bump everywhere lately. The only thing I wish they had more of is outlets. It is still a nice place to work for a couple of hours, but coming with a charged laptop helps. The overall vibe is calm with just enough energy to keep the space from feeling sleepy. It works well for coffee dates, casual catch ups, or solo work, especially for anyone who prefers a relaxed atmosphere without too much chaos.

Starting off with the good - the service was good. The manager had a lot of positive personality. In general, the service staff is trying their best and there's no negative attitude. Great ! The ambiance was nice. Business appropriate , date appropriate. Nice night out level. However, the food. The most important part of dinner. Sadly, it was a bit disappointing. - meatballs: tasted processed. Not made from scratch. It may be the blend or the seasoning or both, but this was not something worth ordering at all. 3 small meatballs. A bit on the dry side. - the mushroom appetizer. Hardly any mushrooms on the middle of the fried outside. Really it was a shell of fried outside breading and very little of what resembled the taste or texture of mushrooms. Pass on this. -fungi pasta - this wasn't bad, but not a standout. 3 stars. Probably the best thing I ordered. - short beef ravioli - I'm not trying to be critical or harsh but this tasted like something I can buy as a microwaveable meal at Trader Joe's. Huge disappointment. If I needed a nice place to discuss business , I may go in to get drinks and light food. But if you're a foodie , or remotely emphasize food as an important part of a meal, I would probably pass, at least for now.
