Came in expecting an item listed at $12 on the menu, but was charged $18 at checkout. When I asked about the difference, I was told the price had changed and the dish now includes a larger portion and soup. That may be fine if clearly communicated, but it was not explained at the time of ordering and was not reflected on the menu I was given. It felt misleading to only find out at the end of the meal. 4/5 food, 2/5 service time. I've never been to AYCE sushi in FoCo before so I was pretty intrigued. It was about $50 for their Premium AYCE option. If you're into sashimi/nigiri and specialty rolls, premium is the way to go. They definitely maximized the space and put seating everywhere they could while still leaving enough space for folx. The servers were kind. In regards to the fish, it's definitely some of the better quality AYCE sushi that I've had. None of it was too fishy and everything was pretty delicious. My favorite thing on the menu had to have been the spicy tuna crispy rice. I'm a sucker for anything spicy tuna, so I was definitely a fan. The appetizers were pretty mid and nothing too special. Just nice to have as some palette cleansers. Only issue my group of 3 had was the wait time in between each round. The dining time limit is 90 minutes, which is what most places do. I expect to get at least 3 rounds in with that timing. It took about 30 minutes for each order to come out. We were there for 2 hours because of this. If you're ready to chow down and looking for a place that can have quick service, this just isn't the place. The only regret I have is not dining in and taking full advantage of an all you can eat sushi opportunity. But from what I did get, it wasn't too shabby. Of course, I dipped into sashimi and a little nigiri, all great. This includes soup and seaweed salad. We tried the regular all you can eat for $33 a person. The service seems a little slow, but we were able to eat so much and walked out full! There are dishes i want to try but didn't have the stomach room. Tv had Manga on silent with cc, and the radio was quite loud. Maybe traditional music might be a better option? Staff is friendly and food was good. I don't think there is another restaurant that serves katsudon in Northern Colorado! Just had lunch today... it pains me to write this because most of my experience here has been exceptional. Today was a little disappointing. I think there may have been a new sushi chef or maybe they're under new management? Not sure... but the quality is definitely not the same. The sushi was not seasoned with rice vinegar. It tasted dry and bland. The cuts were not sharp and sloppy. Their chicken katsu was pretty thin and was mostly the breading. Tempura was on point. Service was fine. The waitresses were attentive. Their soy sauce bottles were grimy. Two bottles were full of soy sauce but for some reason soy sauce wouldn't come out. Third bottle was fine. Not going to completely cut them off my list of favorite restaurants yet. Will give them one more try in a month or so and see if maybe today was just an off day. read more

While the premium is my favorite, the basic AYCE option comes with plenty of delicious options and is what we normally get. The sushi is SO fresh and yum. Best sushi we've had in Northern Colorado! Amazing food and amazing service! Everyone we interacted with was so kind and attentive. We did basic AYCE and tried several items ranging from appetizers, kitchen items, sushi rolls and Nigiri. Everything was delicious and exceeded our expectations. Some of our favorites included: Monkey Brain, Crab Volcano and all the different Nigiri! Our kids LOVED the beef Udon and didn't leave a drop behind. Food so good I forgot to take pictures! You'd think that with all you can eat, the quality would be subpar, but they had some of the best sushi I've ever had, and I consider myself a sushi purist. Because it's a very small place, they are able to see you and attend to your needs quickly. And everyone jumps in to help customers and not necessarily your server, which definitely expedites everything. The only issue is the wait if you have 3 or more in your party. Because it's a small place, table space is very limited. Expect to wait over an hour for dinner. 1 or 2 people are about to sit more quickly at the bar. However, the wait is worth it! Well I called to be put on the wait-list since online wasn't working and was stayed on hold for 30 mins and I could here the lady that answered having casual conversations for the entire time and ignoring the phone placed right in front of her. I have guests in from out of town and they were making a 3hr drive and it's another hour from here to ft.collins. So if the service in the restaurant is like their communication I don't think we will ever go to this restaurant. I'm not risking all their drive and gas along with mine after purposely being placed on hold because if we don't get a table it's a huge waste of time and resources. So if you think about eating there go on a slow day and at odd times or they will likely treat you the same. I can't imagine service being good if that's how they treat their customers trying to get a table. Maybe busy now cause they are new but treating potential customers like this I imagine they will be empty and out of business soon. Complete waste of my time and my group was excited to get all you can eat sushi.
