I really wanted to be impressed, and I really wasn't. We received a $75 gift certificate for Christmas that came with an additional $10 card that had to be used by a certain date. My husband and I made reservations for 12:15 pm. on a Sunday afternoon. There were 2 other tables occupied, so a reservation wasn't necessary. We were seated in a booth, and our waitress promptly took our drink order. I had an espresso martini, and my husband chose a Stella Artois beer. We received a basket with bread, and since we are carb people, we enjoyed it and loved the dipping oil with spices. I ordered the B.A.E. tacos and grand Marnier French toast from the brunch menu, and my husband ordered the cod imperial with sides of garlic whipped potatoes and coleslaw. My dish was basically scrambled eggs with bacon placed in taco shells and a few French toast sticks. I chose to have the bam bam sauce on the side for the tacos, so perhaps that is where the flavor lies. I had to ask the waitress if there was any syrup for the French toast sticks because they seemed dry. She said that "they should have put it on the plate." She went and brought me the syrup. For almost $16. I think I was expecting more than something I could have made easily at home. My husband didn't care for the coleslaw, but that is a personal preference, and he said the rest of his meal was ok. We still had some money left on the card, so we ordered 6 cookies to go. The waitress said it would be a minute because they were warmed up. When we received them and split it, it wasn't that warm, and unfortunately, they were ok. After tax and tip, we were easily able to spend $85 for lunch, but this was a one a done place for us. read more

Food was overcooked. I had the grilled scallops and shrimp with jasmine rice. The scallops and shrimp were dried out and the rice was hard. Poor food quality for the money. Service was average. Very disappointing. read more

The mahi-mahi was so overcooked that it was inedible, had to use a knife to cut it. The shrimp was equally as terrible, overcooked and cold. Grilled chicken on the salad was insanely dry and flavorless. Embarrassing. read more

Always a good choice to celebrate a special occasion. The staff wears masks and the restaurant has modified their service to comply with the required guidelines. Tip: The Signature Red Sangria is really good! I liked it much more than the Signature White Sangria. read more

Food overall is pretty good, but after two consecutive instances of bad service, I'm done. Our previous visit we had to get our own drinks from the bar and needed to ask the manager for anything else. Our current visit I thought I'd out smart them by ordering our drinks and food at the same time. Of course our food came first (which had clearly been sitting) by another server before our drinks arrived. Location is fabulous with a great view of Nagawicka. Too bad the service can't measure up. Edit: while waiting a ridiculous amount of time for our check, watched as the manager dumped water on a chair as he was bussing a table, leave the water, and seat a family without drying off the chair. Unreal. read more

As far as chains go, Bonefish has always ranked as one of my faves for a couple reasons. The first of which is their bang bang shrimp. Crispy and flavorful with just the right amount of heat, I could literally make a meal of just their shrimp. The second reason is their cocktails. Sadly, as we all stay #saferathome, we can't partake in currently, but when their back in action, they do have a variety of inventive mixology. Most of it ranges on the side of the slightly sweet and tropical, but they do make an incredibly decent Manhattan. When I'm in the mood for something on the sweeter side, I go for their (sugar rimmed, no less) sidecar. Their full meals are also great. But, more often than not, we find ourselves here to enjoy a couple cocktails and some bang bang shrimp. I noticed on their website that they are currently doing carry out and delivery (not sure if that is typical, or just as we all stay safe at home). read more

I went there with three other people. The atmosphere is beautiful and the food was really good. Our waiter was really nice and had good sense of humor. There's white paper to cover each tables. We had fun writing messages. Manager liked it and took picture. I recommend you to go there. read more

Solid. The Mister wanted fish and I wanted to not eat fish, and Bonefish had lots of choices for both of us. If you haven't been, Bonefish likely describes itself as an "upscale, casual" chain and it does a very good job delivering good food in a pleasant atmosphere. We started with Bang Bang Shrimp ($9) which is a large amount of tempura style shrimps in a spicy sauce - like the kind of spicy Mayo that comes on sushi. Definitely tasty! Dinners also comes with nice, warm fresh bread which makes the Mister happy as he enjoys filling up on bread. Dinner wise, he had a very nice trout ($19) with a butter sauce and I had a perfectly cooked filet. For a fish place, they made a very good steak and the price was quite reasonable ($26). Service was attentive and kept things moving. Overall - I was pretty impressed. Happy to come back when the fish craving hits again. read more

I am redress from Door Dash which was super quick and the Dasher was great. I received my food which was the appetizer ahi sushi and the calamari. The sushi was pretty good but the calamari had what looked like sweet potato fries in it. And not just one but about 10 in my order. Still ok but not thrilled. read more

There is always such a long wait to get into bonefish, but we were finally smart enough to make a reservation. We went early since we had our antsy son with us and the place was still packed. The ambience was a little bit darker with a feel of a nicer restaurant. Many people were in shorts and T-shirts baseball had, etc. so no one was really dressed all that fancy. Our server was very knowledgeable and was able to guide us, we did not have any issues with our food or our service but the table next to us had a couple problems. They were all quickly rectified however, when you start adding them onto each other, you could tell they were over by the time they left,. We got the mussels as an appetizer and were disappointed to find few closed ones that we promptly sat aside. We both ordered off of the special menu and we're pleased with our meals. Overall, we are likely to return. read more

The food, although pricey, was very good. Can't complain about it at all. Had the seasonal special. Swordfish and pumpkin ravioli. It was great. Started the evening with the smoked old fashion. Very smokey. Not as awesome as I had hoped for, but good. Not $14 good. I'll just stick to my Wisconsin old fashions for now. Finished the night with the molten lava pumpkin cake. Good cake, but nothing molten about it. Was basically a spice cake with cream cheese in the middle. In the mood for seafood, then this is the place. read more

It was our first time at Bonefish and we came here for an early Father's Day Brunch. They have a tented outdoor space and it's just perfect on a summer day with the breeze flowing and the shade. I loved that they have a couch too outdoors where you can wait for your table or enjoy a nice drink. We were a group of 5 adults and an infant and they accommodated us very well. They servers were extremely polite and got us seated right away along with a high chair for our baby! We ordered a few drinks and they had lovely watermelons martini with cucumber - it was soooo summery and refreshing! Some of my family got the mosco mule, and mango mojito and they enjoyed their drinks too. We ordered the crab crust cod, pork chops and shrimp Rangoon salmon and really enjoyed them all. The chef was accommodating to give us our sauces on the side so that we could adjust to our liking. I really liked coming to Bonefish and the food was delicious. If you love seafood I recommend coming here! read more

Bonefish has been a consistent favorite for a few years. Their food is freshly prepared and their waitstaff is always knowledgeable on the menu and the various specials that are offered. Their Saturday and Sunday brunch has become a staple, due to the endless bubbles for only $10, in addition to giving you the option of ordering from their lunch and dinner menus - for those that may not want the traditional brunch fare! Overall, Bonefish is a great restaurant for a casual night out, happy hour or a weekend brunch - their rewards program is also a plus. I've never been disappointed! read more

I ordered one of the daily specials, the Saigon Scallops and Shrimp. It was served with a spicy/sweet sauce atop a bed of vermicelli noodles. SO GOOD! Everything was cooked to perfection, the scallops were sweet, and the sauce was not overbearing. My only suggestion would be that they remove the tail shell from the shrimp....having to switch from fork to fingers throughout the meal was a slight pain. Also, they overcharged me for my drink. I didn't notice until we got home, so there wasn't much I could do about it, but I will be checking my receipt a little better the next time. I really think they deserve 3 1/2 stars, but I rounded up rather than down because my meal was very tasty. I look forward to returning! 7/2019 read more

Bonefish Grill - Saigon scallops and shrimp on a bed of vermicelli. Delicious! - Seafood Near Me - Brookfield, Wisconsin

Went for dinner with my wife a few days ago. My wife had a seafood entree and I was in the mood for a restaurant quality hamburger. My wife's dinner was okay. I ordered the 1/2 pound special. My burger and my plate and fry's weren't a half pound! I asked the manager why I didn't get what I paid for. He told me "Sometimes they run out of food and have to go out and get it locally " He checked with the kitchen and yes it wasn't a 1/2 pound patty. WHAT! You don't tell anyone you're not getting what you asked for? You falsely claim meals on your menu? No apologies given, no compensation for a 1/4 pound served instead of a 1/2 pound? No excuse for the management. It didn't even embarrass them to serve a lie and admit it. It seemed normal by the way it was handled. read more

Won't go back. Been at this place numerous times over the years. Food quality a little worse each time and for this past visit service was horrible. Waiter didn't understand the menu or how to work his ordering device. Brought me the completely wrong order and by the time it arrived the 3 other people in my party were done eating. I mentioned it to the manager who said it was the waiter's second day. Never offered to make things right or anything. Restaurant not nearly as busy as it used to be and I can see why. Plus the drinks are overpriced. Recommend going somewhere else. read more

Service was slow and inattentive, cocktail took 20 minutes, Entree came out while diners were less than halfway through the Aps, Lobster was so overcooked I could barely get a knife through it, Jasmine rice was mushy in some parts, crunchy-undercooked in others, asparagus mushy and overcooked...Will not be going back. Red Lobster does a better job. And I HATE Red Lobster. read more

Not what it used to be... Went here after work for dinner and a drink. Sat at the bar because we're comfortable there. Bartender makes two margaritas that were delicious. Asks if we're eating there, brings us menus, then she and her counterpart ignore us for 20 minutes although we're three feet in front of them both. Flag down the second bartender, who takes our food order but was clearly inconvenienced. People arriving after we order are wrapping up. Food arrives, one dish is cold, sides are incorrect and broccoli is almost a purée is so overcooked. No one takes our pulse. Twenty minutes later, bartender asks how food is and I share the issues, but at that point it doesn't matter. She recognizes dinner is going sideways, gets the manager to share an apologetic speech she's clearly given many times before about how our poor experience was "just not right". She comped the cold fish dinner, but that was not the point. I'm not sure neither the manager nor the bartenders got it. I just wanted a nice dinner at a reliable restaurant. Was great here in the past, figured it was a safe bet. They've now become just another barely marginal restaurant. Never again. read more

Stopped in for some brunch on a Saturday and sat at the bar. Our bartender Terri was absolutely fantastic! She was fun to talk to and gave my Mom and I great suggestions off the menu. We started with bottomless sangria/mimosas! Best deal ever for $10.00. Then we ordered the calamari which was so crunchy and delicious. The Asian sauce served with it was perfect. Next we tried the bang bang shrimp and Johnny cakes. It was the perfect variety of stuff to eat! Everything was fantastic!!! Went for a nice, easy, date night dinner and after a mostly mediocre to poor experience, we definitely will not return. Arrived just after 8pm on a Thursday night and they were definitely in closedown mode. Server was friendly and drink service was quick but everything else was mediocre at best. Lots of staff hanging out in dining space, talking loudly, cashing out, counting tips, dancing around, and being very unprofessional and discourteous you guests. Manager (supervisor maybe) was sitting at a table (behind host station) doing paperwork but also chatting loudly with staff. Very distracting. Food wise, the imperial dip was pretty good, chips were crispy but overly salted. Balanced out okay because dip was under salted. Shrimp pieces were perfectly cooked, bay scallops were a bit rubbery. For dinner, I ordered blackened shrimp tacos with fries and my wife ordered crab corn chowder. Tacos were pretty good. Good salsa and sauce, fish was coated in blackening seasoning but were not actually blackened. Flavor was pretty good but fish was overcooked. Fries were great. My wife's corn chowder was terrible and returned to kitchen. I'm a professional chef, by trade, and this was not a chowder. It was spicy, peppery broth based, and had only a few pieces of corn. There were great crab chunks, but the soup was so over seasoned that the deliciousness of the crab was lost. At best, it was a poorly made red pepper bisque, but it is definitely not a corn chowder. We told the server the soup was bad and returned it, she took it back and then complained to the bartender and another server about our complaint. We decided not to cause a scene or complain further as it only would have negatively affected us. It was clear that none of the staff cared and we definitely will not return. read more

Made a reservation for a Friday night, process was super simple through their website. Arrived for our 730 reservation, and waited approx 5 min to be seated which was great! Our waitress, Melissa, was really sweet and genuine, you could tell she really wanted every table she had to have an enjoyable evening. Service throughout the night was fantastic. Drinks were awesome, menu was explained thoroughly. The food however, was just OK. The bang bang shrimp was good, and I think the price for what you get was appropriate. The calamari appetizer was also a good value, but it was very greasy. We did get complimentary ciabatta and pesto, which was actually my favorite part of the meal! We both ordered specials - seafood risotto and salmon with crab topping. The risotto was not risotto- it was a seafood soup over a scoop of sticky rice, and the flavor was not good. The three shrimp on top saved it. The salmon with crab was wood grilled which had good flavor, but it was SO dry. It needed the crab and spinach sauce to save it. They say their special is grilled seafood, so that left me feeling disappointed as well. Lastly, the interior was nice, but so many tables were crammed in next to each other, it felt a bit like a banquet hall. No division between sections, which led you to overhear every conversation in your general vicinity. While the service was great, I don't believe we will be paying a visit to Bonefish again. Felt overvalued for the food and experience we received. read more

I wanted to write an update to my last review of Bonefish. It is all about the service and what they do if something happens. And all of that is driven from top down...GM/management down to the people and having the staff on board with the philosophy. In this latest visit, we sat down and Melissa was our server. Immediately she was friendly and inviting. She took our drink orders (wine and mixed drink) and a few minutes later she came back and apologized that they were out of both. Melissa said Katie, their manager would buy us the first round of our next choice because of that. Most places would just say sorry! I came with a large group on a weeknight. We had reserved some space in the bar area for drinks and apps. The space wasn't the best set up for a large social gathering, but I guess not really their intent. I thought they had a good drink menu with lots of different options for beer, wine, and cocktails. The cocktails were presented well which made them seem pretty upscale. The appetizers I tried were all pretty good. The brussel sprouts we're definitely my favorite. My biggest disappointment here was the service. We were a large group, but they were not staffed to handle us. It was difficult to get any ones attention to get refills on drinks or water. read more

This place needs help! Our group ate here this week and everyone said it was one of the worst meals they have had at a restaurant in a long time! Casual fine dining. Nice warm atmosphere and decent service. Prices are fair. Came here with the Mrs. She had shrimp and scallops on vermicelli noodles I think. Her food looked and tasted good (nice grill marks) and she enjoyed it. I wasn't really in the mood for seafood, so I was eyeing up the Waygu burger at $15. The Mrs suggested I "live it up". I should have trusted my instincts, so I will take some responsibility for this. My steak was cooked to a perfect medium on the inside. It looked well charred and the server did ask how our food was. I said it was fine, but after a few bites I found I was wrong. It was bitter from being burnt. I hate sending food back, and I rarely do, so I finished it. To be fair, it's dark in the dining room. I didn't really think it was burnt. But later on I had to wonder how a burnt steak could end up on a plate, let alone a table? How did the server not question it when she picked it up? I'm assuming they have Better lighting in the kitchen. It's ironic considering that the servers wear chef's attire. Again, to be fair, I didn't complain about it. I ate it. Maybe that's what I deserve for getting steak at a seafood restaurant. Let me be clear, 3 stars is good. It's A OK., But I'm not a fan yet. The sides and the bread were delicious and really the only saving grace to my meal. Yes, we'll be back, we have a gift card to use up. If you're here and not in the mood for seafood, I can't recommend their ribeye. All that sweet juicy fat can quickly flare up. read more
