I found my new tree guy! Thank you to Paul W for the reco. While I am reluctant to share such a…read moregreat find for purely selfish reasons, I am compelled to tell my story of Z's Trees. In the midst of all the damage from the latest ice storm and black out, I had a very large tree branch sitting on my roof that was still dangling from the mature oak. And on top of it all, a new snow storm was coming! I called Brian in a bit of a panic, and he was able to pull a crew together and get the work done before the next storm hit. Amazing! His communication throughout the process was great. To speed things up he was able to provide an estimate from the photos I sent. He showed up when he said he would, and within a couple of hours all the debris surrounding my house was gone. As a bonus, I even got a few new logs for the firepit out of the deal! One of the things I particularly enjoyed was that while Brian can bring in a crane if needed, this job was a rope, climb, and saw operation. Two guys and a wood chipper got it all done. Brian's a busy guy. He's booked up for the next month, but he also spent some time to discuss the health of my large trees, and his thoughts on what should be done to get them shored up. My hope is to get him back in the spring. I am super grateful for the fast turn around time and for getting my house ready to face the next storm that's on its way.

One strong wind and the part hanging over my property would crash down on a fence, a shed, and probably clip the corner of my house. No time to waste. Although it rubs right against a powerline, the power company looked at it and said it wasn't going to hurt the lines (B*S*), so we were on our own with it (1 star for DTE). Every tree service in town was telling us two weeks at least before they could even come by for a look. Brian messaged me back the same day I asked for estimates over Yelp, and was able to come by the next afternoon. He and his team made short work of the half on my side of the line. I will be sleeping easier tonight.

They always give us a call prior to doing the service and are always prompt about getting things done. I had a billing question and they took care of it right away. Had 4 treatments done, had to stop it in August. They use the same percentage of fertilizer for everyone - whether you have a manicured lawn in the city or living in the country. Same type of fertilizer whether the lawn is primarily in the shade or in the sun. I live in the country, have a well, so to pump the water requires electricity, furthermore, I have just about an acre, living in michigan is awfully expensive to water my lawn. I have rarely watered my lawn only in certain spots within 25 feet of the house, in the 29 years I've been here. I couldn't give them one star, because in the shaded areas, my lawn looked beautiful, however in the sun soaked no shade areas, so many dead spots, I have NEVER had so many dead spots with any other company fertilizing my lawn. When I put the account on hold, the manager of the location called me and said I have an insect infested lawn. They have a product to fix it, wouldn't you know it. Sales pitch, as if I want to spend any more money for dead spots in my lawn, Nope! First, I had a company come out in April to work in my yard to fix underground guttering so when the workers I had dug up for new pvc piping, it was sand based and they threw the extra sand onto my lawn. So of course Back to Nature assumed it was insect infected. Sounds like technicians are trained to say this regardless. If you have a primary shaded city area, then the fertilizer they use will work. However, if any area has no shade, you're taking a chance. I will not be able to use this company again.
