Wanda H.

Saw the menu posted outside and HAD to stop in for lunch. I was surprised that my friends were willing to try it, so because of that, it was even better. The food was EXCELLENT (Mandu Soup!!!) and it was fun watching folks try things they'd never had before. I hadn't realized that this was a chain restaurant, but still glad we went. The service was good and even though the menu stated that there would be an automatic tip added, there wasn't. Ambiance was nice. Great variety of Asian meals on the menu.

I met a friend for dinner at Bonchon on a Saturday night. The restaurant wasn't busy and we immediately got a table. Bonchon is mostly known for the Korean style fried chicken but has a variety of other Korean dishes. We actually skipped out on the fried chicken but did get the chicken katsu, fried rice, and one of their specialty loaded fries. Overall the portion sizes were good to split between two people. The flavors were average though, nothing that jumped out and stayed with me. Our waiter was attentive and the atmosphere inside was pleasant. We appreciated them letting us sit and chat as the restaurant began to close up. I would try this Bonchon location again but I would probably stick to the Korean fried chicken.

Takoyaki

Service was amazing, our server was very attentive to our needs and she spoke like she knew the menu very well, even listing the ingredients in the entrees. We're not new to the franchise, just the location. So we got takoyaki, street corn, bulgogi fried rice, and a large platter of soy garlic and spicy chicken wings. Every thing was great and had the distinct Bonchon flavor. The bathrooms are clean and the vibes of the restaurant was pretty casual. Great place!

Seasoned French Fries

I ordered BonChon on DoorDash so I can't speak to the ambiance of the restaurant. My food arrived hot, well packaged and all requested condiments included. I ordered the bone in wings with Korean bbq sauce and seasoned french fries. The food was amazing. Chicken was crispy and nicely coated with the bbq sauce. The fried were crispy and well seasoned. I absolutely enjoyed my meal and will definitely be ordering again

Avoid. Food sub par. Food was over cooked and poorly flavored. Restaurant was deserted which should have been an indication.

The place wasn't too busy so we immediately got a seat but it did take at least 15 minutes for someone to come ask for our orders. At that point we were ready to order our food and drinks. I got the ragin cajun burger with fries upgraded to onion rings. The burger was tasty and the onion rings were average, although I liked the dipping sauce. We agreed that it was the classic bar food we were in the mood for. The music (Drake songs back to back to back) inside was so loud that I was having to yell to my friend across the booth from me. I get that they want to have a lively sports bar atmosphere but it felt like I was at a downtown club in Boston on a Saturday night. They have a large menu with plenty of food options but they clearly emphasize the drinks at Sidelines. Overall I would return, maybe the next time I feel like hitting the club.

I ordered the steak tips and my only complaint if I was to have one was the limited options for the side. It was onion rings or rice . It came with a salad that was lame ... I'd drop the salad for a veggie or sauteed onions and grilled black green peppers . I ordered onion rings and excellent onion rings. I really wanted cream spinach, garlic spinach or mashed, or baked potato or corn , carrots anything? Grilled garlic green beans even better with my tips . Now, the steak tips are real deal tender , nice teriyaki I think was marinade . Huge portion in terms of lbs of steak tips . Nice char from grill on tips. All very good . Better to serve an option steak tips, grilled onions and grilled green peppers, mashed potato, grilled beans ,a single hot roll ... like a Santarpios option they offer peppers But, I get it... if it is working... why change... Food Review: Paddy Kelly's - Peabody, MA…read more If you're looking for classic bar food done right, Paddy Kelly's at 154 Washington St, Peabody, MA, is a must-visit. From giant margarita towers to loaded nachos and hearty burgers, this spot delivers on both flavor and value. Whether you're out with friends or family, it's the kind of place where you can kick back, indulge, and enjoy some solid comfort food in a no-frills setting. The Must-Have Dishes Kitchen Sink Nacho Tray ($17.95) - An absolute steal! This massive tray of nachos is loaded with grilled chicken, chili, tomatoes, onions, black olives, and jalapeños, served with salsa and sour cream. Easily feeds four people and is hands-down worth coming back for. 9/10 Buffalo Chicken Sandwich ($14.95) - Crispy buffalo chicken with just the right amount of heat, paired with cool bleu cheese. If you're hunting for a great Buffalo chicken sandwich near Medford or Boston (seriously, where are the good ones?), this is a solid contender. 9/10 Smokehouse Burger ($14.95) - Stacked with BBQ sauce, bacon, an onion ring, and pepper jack cheese, it was a good burger, but honestly, the onion rings stole the show. Cooked perfectly crisp-- which so many places mess up! 7/10 Hit or Miss Steak & Cheese Egg Rolls ($14.95) - Filled with shaved steak and served with buffalo ranch for dipping, these had great flavor but were just way too greasy. 6/10 Pizza - Undercooked, but decent for the price. If you're looking for a great pizza, this isn't the spot. 5/10 Drinks: The Real Star Margarita Tower - Absolutely massive and perfect for sharing. You can't go wrong with this one! Giant Espresso Martinis - If you're a fan of espresso martinis, they go big here--definitely worth trying. Final Verdict If you want a true Boston dive bar experience, this is it. No frills, just solid food and strong drinks at a great price. Come for the drinks and nachos! - Food: 7/10 on the bar food scale. - Affordability: 8/10 - Ambiance: 5/10 (It's a dive bar--if you want a true Boston experience, come here!) - Overall: 7/10

Fans will know about my adventures and misadventures with spicy food. Can we just have nutrition labels list Scoville units in addition to the usual macros and micros? Not wanting to turn into a fire-breathing dragon or the big bad wolf, huffing and puffing through my meal, I went for a Nashville Hot chicken sandwich. While not the greatest fried chicken I'd had (that title stays with Dave's), I've no complaints about the chicken itself. It was cooked nicely, and appropriately crisp and tender. The chow-chow (pickled vegetable relish) was a unique touch, and the lettuce added some welcome freshness. The bayou sauce was pleasant, also. I found everything to be mostly well-balanced, though I personally would have loved a little more lettuce. There's just one 'little' detail: the heat. If there was any spiciness, it was fully imperceptible to my palate. So much so I confirmed with the kitchen it was, in fact, a Nashville hot. Not wanting to be "that guy" I didn't send it back - but 100% going for at least an "Angry Bird" next time. For some final notes: - Value was excellent at ~$12 for a rather large sandwich. - Fries were fine, no complaints and nothing to write home about. - Service was polite and reasonably quick. - Location was clean, and only the paint needed a little touch up. Thus: while not the GOAT in my opinion, a very solid and respectable chicken shop!
