It's a good approximation of Korean food. I didn't like the bulgogi (no flavor at all) or the bi bim bap (doesn't have a runny egg on it and uses some cheaper veggies rather than traditional Korean ones). I come from California and was surprised there was a bonchon was located here! Usually the best thing from a Korean fried chicken restaurant to get are the soy garlic wings. The 10 piece wings for 12-13$ is the best value which we ordered and it came out pretty quickly The pickled daikon was the best thing to eat with since it cuts down on the chicken grease and was a very refreshing meal. This restaurant does something that other Korean fried chicken restaurants don't do in California; provide gloves. We first had Bonchon years ago on a trip to DC and loved it. I was overjoyed when I heard one was coming to our area. I still haven't eaten in yet, though from what I hear it's more of a fast-casual, order at the counter type of deal. This is a departure from our experience in DC, but not a problem. I think this restaurant has a drive-through too but I'm not positive. We've ordered through DoorDash twice as my husband LOVES their bone-in wings. Each time our order has been correct and packaged nicely. The quality is impressively good for delivered fried food; very little in the way of sogginess, even with the sauced items. I got fried chicken tenders with no sauce the first time and I will say this is the worst item we've tried by a decent margin. It wasn't bad but needed more seasoning in the breading. Some ranch dipping saved it but I moved on to boneless wings on my next order. Meals come with a side of pickled radish or slaw, so if you want something like fries that's extra. However, the fries are quite good, so I think it's worth it. ;). The seasoned/loaded ones have Parmesan and parsley and they're delicious. We got an order of pork potstickers on one of our orders and they were good too. The soy garlic sauce was perfect with them. But of course, the best item: wings. Double fried, so crispy and crunchy, and perfectly cooked. I've liked all the sauces I've tried, but the yangnyeom sauce is my favorite -- sweet and a little spicy. This place is amazing! I hate trekking across town for Korean food, so this joint opening close to us was a huge plus to me. I finally convinced better half to get us some takeout tonight and we ate ourselves into a food coma. We got the potstickers (pork, half with garlic/soy sauce and half Korean BBQ). They maintained their texture, despite being sauced and the ride home. In a word: YUM. Onto the bibimbap, which we both got as an entree. Better half got it "fully loaded" with an additional fried egg and cleaned his plate. He also got a side of the Korean street corn (upcharge). I only had a bite, but it was super tasty. I omitted mushrooms from mine and wish I had also omitted the spinach (it had that weird frozen spinach funk to it). The portion was so huge, however, it wasn't a big deal to just scoop out the spinach. I also loved the slightly spicy sauce that came with. I got a side of seasoned fries (upcharge), and these were Five Guys sized in portion. The seasoning was luscious, the fries were crisp, these things were heavenly. We went WAY overboard and got too much food so this was a bit pricey, but now we know that this place will NOT let you leave hungry. I didn't go in, but was informed the restaurant was super clean and the service was quite nice. I mean, it's fast food but not whatever nightmare McD's you're used to frequenting at 1am. I'm eager to come back and try the fried chicken. Note: items containing sesame are clearly noted on the menu. Online ordering allows you to customize your meal clearly and I think many items could be made vegetarian (except for the chicken, obviously). Used doordash to order from here and finally give it a try, and I cannot complain. Packaging was really good, and the food was so tasty. Had the pork buns which were pretty big and flavorful, the bao part was nice and fluffy and well balanced with the filling. The chicken was properly cooked and the sauces were perfect. The parking lot was full when I arrived. It was pretty crowded, but that's expected on opening day. Most of the seats were taken and there were probably about 15 people waiting for food about 30 minutes after it had opened. The menu seems a little abbreviated from what I've seen at other locations. I wish I had taken a picture. Anyways, I ended up ordering an 8 piece Korean BBQ Wings with pickled radish and Chicken Katsu. I ordered to-go and received it about 30 minutes later, again explainable with it being so packed. I can forgive the wait, but it was a little difficult for the employees taking my order to understand me and vice versa. The wings were good. They were crispy, crunchy, and had a good amount of sauce on them. The food was a tad expensive, but that's expected of Korean fried chicken. The pickled radish had a nice crunch and was a little sour; I enjoyed it though. I'll have to update review after I try the Katsu, but I also want to try the Tteokbokki next time I return. While I was inside, I observed some reactions between employees and customers, and it was fairly pleasant. One customer had gotten up and asked staff where the trash can was, and was asked to go to the soda machine. They ended up coming back to the front of the restaurant and placing their tray + box. When I was leaving, I checked the "trash can" and it was a small hole where the box would not have fit. There also wasn't a place where customers could place trays. This is something MANAGEMENT definitely needs to look into! read more

Woooooosh okay last one from our trip to Huntsville. This was our last stop and the last day of Huntsville Comic & Pop Culture Expo. We had heard about Bonchon opening up in Huntsville about a month before it was supposed to open. We were disappointed to find out it wouldn't be open until around the end of this month. So on that weekend chilling in the hotel I came across a post on Facebook saying that they were open. Me being shocked I called the restaurant and sure enough an employee confirmed they opened 2 weeks early! Now look I get it, it's a fast food chain restaurant but hear me out. This place is churning out some of the best Korean fried chicken I have ever had but obviously not better then Big Oh's but still way up there. So I ordered just regular Korean Fried Chicken wings (not spicy) and the steamed pork buns. The steamed pork buns were well they were okay. The buns were pillow soft but they fell short of what I wanted. The flavor was there but they were just filled with mostly coleslaw and one small piece of pork belly. I wouldn't order these again. They weren't expensive but I guess you get what you get at a chain restaurant so I'm not like upset about it. They get a 6/10. Now the Korean Fried Chicken. Not much to say here they were crispy and covered in finger licking good sauce and just juicy and delicious. I am definitely coming back for these if nothing else. 8.2/10 As you can see below there was other foods tried by my friends I did not taste these. I recently discovered BonChon on my way home, and I just had to check it out since it's new to Huntsville! I was completely blown away by the food and the restaurant's cleanliness. I tried the spicy mix combo, and it was absolutely amazing! However, there was a bit of a hiccup with the customer service. The staff seemed to struggle with English, which made it challenging to ask questions or get assistance with the menu. As a first-timer, I found it a bit overwhelming, especially if you're unfamiliar with Korean fried chicken. It would be fantastic if they could provide more guidance for newcomers to help them navigate the menu. Despite the communication barrier, I'll definitely be back for that incredible chicken and slaw--it was on fire! The only reason for the 3 star is based on customer satisfaction and service. After my dental appointment, we stopped by Bonchon. The store is pristine. There were 6 customers at 2:25. We looked at the menu and selected a fried chicken sandwich, japchae and a bulgogi bowl to go. We also got an order of kimchi to go. It didn't take long for our foods to be prepared. Hubs really liked his chicken sandwich which had a slaw mixture and spicy mayo. The bulgogi bowl had white rice, beef, lettuce, shredded carrots, small or chopped mushrooms and chopped red bell peppers and onions. If the bell peppers and onions were sliced like they are in Korean restaurants, the dish would have tasted better I believe. The flavor profile was off. The japchae was on the sweet side and not much sesame oil. The food is good and we will go back to try other menu items. The kimchi was good but lacked the strong garlic profile. The pickled radishes were very good. If you are unsure about trying Korean food, stop by. The food is a modern version of Korean and suited for the American palate. read more

Welcome to Huntsville, Bonchon! I've eaten here twice since they opened Wednesday and the food is absolutely delicious. They soy garlic wings and drumsticks are crispy, sticky, flavorful perfection. The bulgogi fries are next level goodness and the onion rings are nicely battered and extra crispy (just like I like them). My daughter had chicken fried rice and ate every bite. The service is great and staff are extra attentive to takeout orders to make sure you leave with everything you ordered. This will definitely be a new favorite for my family. read more

Tried the hype Korean fried chicken spot. Managed to go in on Sunday for dinner and of course it's super busy as it should be for opening week and weekend. Seating is poor in my opinion as there are really only 4 real tables for customers to dine in at and 5 seats along the wall. Ordered 20 piece wings with half soy garlic and half Korean bbq. They were very good in my opinion, super tasty and worth the wait. Korean bbq is my favorite sauce by far, soy garlic is also tasty but Korean bbq has it beat! Also tried tteokbokki and the seasoned fries and both were decent. Tteokbokki had a nice spice to it and they include 2 veggie dumplings on top as well. Fries were nice and crispy. Finally got a chance to try this place and was not disappointed. I got the ten piece mixed. I like that they give you the option of all drums/wings/ or mixed. The cashier was really patient with me and explained the sauces. I got Korean BBQ an Yangnyeom. Both are good, but I really like the Korean BBQ. I also got a surprise of 2 chicken legs! Was really happy about that. I also got the steamed buns with pork belly, they were okay, and a Korean corn dog, which I absolutely loved!! Brutally honest review: Disappointed Crunch Bonchon offered a decent fried chicken experience, but it fell short of the hype for the price. The chicken itself was undeniably well-cooked, boasting a crispy exterior and juicy interior. Unfortunately, the star of the show, the sauce, was seriously lacking. We ordered the spicy, Korean BBQ, and Soy Garlic flavors, but all three were incredibly light on the chicken. The "spicy" wasn't even close to what was advertised, offering a meek "white pepper" heat at best. The Korean BBQ and Soy Garlic flavors were similarly underwhelming. Another misstep was the Korean street corn. It turned out to be a pile of canned corn with unmelted cheese and a sprinkle of chili flakes for heat. Disappointing, especially considering the price. For a two-person meal costing around $60, Bonchon simply doesn't deliver enough flavor or value. You can find tastier and more exciting Korean fried chicken elsewhere. Lastly, the service was good. I will not write a bad review on service as the person taking our order doesn't speak English as their native language. Rest assured the only thing that can improve is the customers before us couldn't understand him and the coworkers who were working along with him didn't give two shits on assisting him. Note: This isn't a normal Bonchon location for fans of this Korean Fried Chicken guilty pleasure. This location is small, cramped and seems mostly geared towards carry out orders. There are four tables that seat 4 people and a side bar that seats an additional 4 people. Additionally, I'm more accustomed to Bonchon being a table service restaurant. This one has a counter order operation. I feel this cheapens the overall feeling and detracts from the quality of dining experience . That being said I don't think the staff has any idea of Bonchon brand or experience. There's nothing like this in Huntsville. Staff are probably more accustomed to Zaxby's , Tenders , or other takeout fried chicken establishments. The cashier was kind of clueless, we had to repeat our order multiple times and ultimately it was NOT correct when we received our food at our table. The worst part was when he asked for a " name for the order " and my wife gave her name, which is pretty normal ( biblical character from the Passion) . The cashier said, " Doubhave a different one ,I don't know that name?" Yikes In general the flavors and cooking of item were not correct. 1) our potstickers were spicy ??? Despite us ordering soy garlic 2) The pork buns were over sauced and the pork was dry and brittle , rather than moist and flavorful 3) We had ordered a combination of wings and drumsticks- with specific count of soy garlic and spicy--the numbers were not correct. Also the level of sauce and spice were not consistent across the wings and drumsticks, some were dry while others were thoroughly coated. 4) Onion rings ( how do you mess this up ? ) - Whomever was preparing the onion rings didn't realize the difference between onion skin peel and flesh. We had two rings which were not edible because they were skin, instead of flesh. 5) The diakon radish was bland and squishy....not the fresh, crisp and flavorful ones that we know and expect to enjoy .....big miss! Overall, I think this is a cheaper product too, as the drumsticks were not as large and the chicken wings didn't have the distinctive twice fried crunchy crust. Big disappointment as a loyal fan of Bonchon for over a decade. I tried to get the manager's information from the employees and tried to relay some of my feedback. He spoke a few unintelligible words. So we left. Happy to speak to management to help improve what could be a JEWEL in the Huntsville restaurant scene....but I won't be surprised if they close within 12 months if they continue to operate this way, with lack of quality and attention to details that make Bonchon great. read more

Underwhelming to say the least. Got 3 different items and they were all dry with no sauce. Saved our meals with sauces at home
