I called and asked for a remake or refund since the order was made incorrectly. The manager said there was nothing they could do except offer a 15% coupon. When I explained that this was unacceptable, the manager hung up on me. I also asked to speak with the owner and was told the owner was hospitalized and unavailable. WORSE BONCHON DON'T GO HERE. MANGER IS SNAPPY. Ordered through DoorDash. The driver arrived about 30 minutes after the food was supposedly ready, then had to wait another 15 minutes because the order still wasn't finished. She mentioned they were busy, which I understood. I asked through the driver for extra soy sauce to be added to the bag, and the restaurant immediately called me. Somehow there was a miscommunication, and they thought I was asking for free potsticker entree. I was not. I simply wanted extra soy sauce. They said they don't offer potsticker sauce, so I asked to substitute it for spicy mayo instead. Just a kind accommodation. What disappointed me most was the customer service and the treatment of the doordash driver---everything far as principle... I've ordered from other locations before, and they were far more polite and accommodating than this Hanover location. STAY AWAY FROM THIS LOCATION AS LONG AS The general manager, Alex, is still employed here. He comes across as sarcastic, passive-aggressive, and dismissive during our conversation. Even when the driver offered to pay for the extra sauce, he still refused. All this over 99 cents!?! At that point, it wasn't even about the $0.99 sauce anymore -- it was the attitude. A little kindness and professionalism go a long way, especially when a customer has already spent over $40 on an order. The food quality was also below average this time. Chicken was overly spicy, and the coleslaw was dry and seemed to have little to no mayo. I called about the quality, the Manger did not care and refused to give the district number. I've been recovering from recent health issues and honestly did not have the energy for this level of unnecessary stress over something so small. The service was next level. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. They always checked up on us to make sure we were good. The food here is VERY good. A friend of mine had begged me to come try this place for months, and I regret not coming sooner. Everything we had from the rice bowls, to the chicken, to the onion rings were tasty. The chicken, was wet and crunchy at the same time. The sauces were all amazing as well. For dessert I we tried their donuts. And while I don't usually eat donuts often or crave them, I will for sure be getting them again when I come back. They were cooked to perfections. Soft and fluffy. The food has never disappointed as far as flavor goes. The price is a problem. Seasoned fries will run you an extra dollar even though they don't mention the up charge. They also charge $0.10 for a plastic bag. Also I had to ask for the breakdown as I was only being handed the merchant receipt requesting my signature. While there is a bag charge in Maryland I haven't frequented restaurants that charge it and I always check my receipts. The location is pretty empty. I was visiting Maryland for the week and i decided to stop by Bonchon to grab a bite. The customer service was so warm and welcoming. The gentleman was beyond the sweetest, very attentive and his customer service exceeded expectations. Staff here was great, they brought me a little sample of one of the special sauces they have for a limited time - honestly (and I told them this) they should keep that sauce year round, it was a sweet & spicy which is to me the quintessential KFC sauce. I hadn't been to a bonchon in years despite loving KFC due to not being so keen on the sauce options. I got the strips & pickled radish lunch, I could only eat half and took half home. The chicken was good quality breast meat, the sauce was in the realm of what I wanted. The chicken didn't have quite the level of crunch that I am used to but for a chain it was quite a decent lunch. Walking inside, the menu is the same as the other Bon Chon Chicken restaurants. You can have your chicken tossed in a soy-garlic sauce, spicy heat sauce as well as plain with no sauce. I walk up to the counter and ask for a 10 piece boneless chicken. 5 Soy glazed and 5 spicy. My side is Korean radishes. It sounds strange but the radish gives the spicy sauce a nice balance of sweet, spicy and sour. My buddy is next and he says BBQ please. No sir, this is Korean style. He locks on and I think he got plain. There is no eating at this establishment so we had our food to go. Once we got back to the office, I opened the Korean radishes. The entire office is like, mmm what's that smell? haha He looks at me after his first bite and gives me a thumbs up. Hanover MD! Please do not order from here, if you want to go to a Bonchon go to the Columbia one. I couldn't stop eating the Columbia lunch special when I was there, and was sad when I was finished. This one I'm literally sad I paid money for it. Service is ok; the one guy at the front was fine, since the restaurant was empty anyway. A bit of a greasier store than the Columbia one too. I'm not a Bonchon frequenter so before entering, I checked the menu online. The bonchon wrap online said it was $7.95. When I came into this location for just the wrap I paid $14.95! I know locations change prices, but wow! Then the place is almost not open for the public. Tables are covered in boxes and it looks like they just moved in, but this location has been here for long enough to not look like this. The signage is not professional at all and the walls are littered with printer paper signs telling you what you can't do. They don't have a big menu, just a few smaller ones. The overall traffic flow is terrible with only a few places to sit or stand while you wait for your food. And what a wait! DO NOT COME HERE if you are looking for quick service. For my one wrap, with only two people in before me, I waited 20 minutes. And those people weren't waiting for big orders. Why is this place open? It doesn't seem in any condition to be able to feed more than one person at a time in a pretty busy part of town. Busy prices, but BANKRUPT service. Have you tried Korean fried chicken? Bonchon is a pretty decent place to introduce yourself to this style of food. Of course it's a chain, and more locations are popping up in the area. There is no Chick-Fil-A speed of service here ( but this is pretty common for Korean chicken). A little dark and dank. Not spotless inside, but not terribly dirty. The salad-- I always get the Sesame salad with chicken (on a diet). The cut up chicken breast on top was crispy and juicy inside. Plentiful salad greens, peppers, and onions. Bonchon is not quite as good as Momo in Mont. County, but there are many locations closer to the Baltimore area. *Looks like Anne Arundel county is still restricting indoor dining at this time. Before I even entered, I saw a family walk out of the next door restaurant by with disappointed faces, saying " no indoor dining". Sorry, this is the longest review I've written . . . I am so through with BonChon! So, here lately, I've been craving Korean spicy chicken. After a long day at work, I decided to go ahead and reward myself with some spicy Korean wings. I hadn't given up on them yet even though the Pasadena location disappointed me the last time I ordered. I timed the pick up perfectly with my route and decided to only get the spicy ones but I also decided to order some pork buns as well. Yes, I know I'm not supposed to be eating pork but I've kind of been off the wagon. Don't worry, this helped revert me. I couldn't wait until I got home so I dove in. First, a bite of spicy wing: YES! YES! YES! YAAAAAAAS! Perfect crunch. Perfect spice level. This gal was doing her happy food dance lol. Then I decided to try the bun. Was a little chewy on first bite but had good flavors. You know how you're chewing and tasting but your mind is also going because you're wondering- is this right? That's what I was doing. I took another bite and realized this is not the cloudy-pillowy texture the bun is supposed to have. I wasn't too sure though and I was trying my best to remember the first time I had tried them. A few more bites until I was done and thought, oh maybe they're just a little bit dry. By now I had decided I would go ahead and finish in the car. A little bit of daikon and some more wings and then decided to go back in for a bun. This time I realized, oh no. Something is really wrong. This one was so hard it was almost a cookie texture. You can see the imprints from my teeth in the pictures. That's how hard they actually were. Oh, it's a cookie pork bun, I thought. Lol. That's new but not what I ordered or wanted. Now I had the problem of contemplating if I should go back in to return or suck it up because I shouldn't have been eating them anyway, take the L, and go home. After a little bit of thought, I got upset because I was not going to pay for something that was not cooked right. Again, I was rewarding myself and eating something I wasn't supposed to. If I'm going to be bad, I want it to be done right. I decide to go back in. I spoke with the lady who took my order and informed her the buns were not cooked properly. They were dry, hard, and I did not like them. She quickly informed me that because I had ate one, I would only be refunded for two . . . . {ME}Huh? Blink, Blink. Huh? . . . I'm thinking, ok yeah that makes sense. Then I thought, excuse you what? I giggled a little asked her if she was serious and then asked to speak to the manager. After some time the manager came and I informed him of the same thing and then asked if the texture was correct. Without looking at the buns, he quickly told me I took too long to pick them up and they dry out as they sit. Then he asked me how long did I take to pick them up. {Me}Blink . . Blink . . Blink. Huh? I giggled and held my receipt out to him and stated it wasn't even 20 minutes. I had no words after that. He look at my receipt and then again said the longer they sit the more they dry out. What is he taking about? My first receipt clearly shows that my promise time was at 6:14 and the second receipt, where he took the pork buns off and only charged me up for the wings was at 6:30! I had already ate a bun and some wings in my car. Please tell me how that took too much time. At that moment, I didn't really remember how long it had been but I was not in my car that long. Then with an attitude, he asked me what did I want him to do. I was so taken back that I didn't know what to say and then he suggested he would take them off and I said yes. No apology, just a straight attitude. How is he going to tell me I took too long to pick up my order and that was why they got hard? No, not at all sir. I mean what else were my options? Wait for more hard buns. Yes, that's common courtesy to apologize and offer to correct the problem with new fresh food. Perhaps he already knew they had a prolem with their cookie buns . . . Don't give me attitude and then tell me I'm the reason they were hard. Unbeknownst to him, I'm not stupid when it comes to Asian food. SMH I more than know the texture buns are supposed to be, light, cute, and fluffy. Like Stitch. Not happy. The one star is because those wings were perfect! One thing we didn't know was this place is more like a fast food place than real Korean restaurant. I was expecting to have some fun appetizer like we do at most of Korean restaurants but they don't provide it - so be aware if you're new to this franchise restaurant. That being said, this please is not as bad as the other reviewers said. People work there were not really friendly but polite, as you can expect from most of Asian restaurants, food was not bad especially for the pricing, and the inside was clean. The atmosphere inside was a bit weird, partially closed and half of the lighting was off so it was kinda dark but I'm sure it's because of the Covid restrictions. The reason I give them 4 stars instead of 5 is because we got our food in plastic bags although we were dining in. Finally tried this Korean style chicken restaurant. I must say I was very satisfied. I ordered through the website for lunch. I got the 2 Korean chicken tacos. Had a nice spicy taste on the chicken. Coleslaw added a nice crunch to it. Tacos come with 2 separate sauce; ranch and spicy Mayo. Spicy Mayo gives more of that kick flavor. I also ordered 4 drum sticks. I'm thinking I was going to get party drumsticks but they surprised me with the size of the chicken. Nice and crunchy just like I like it. I got the half and half. 2 plain and 2 soy garlic. Kind of dug this place. Nothing fancy inside. Straight up fast casual with eat in booths. Had the 8piece traditional wings half ginger soy half spicy. Spice level catches your attention but nothing to roast your mouth off. The ginger soy was tasty. The CRUNCH of the wings was outstanding. Came with pickled radishes which I loved the cold acid to balance the heat from the wings. And a side of kimchi was a delight. The coleslaws were all half empty and the large container of chicken Bulldak was half rice for 17.99. I have eaten at many Bonchon's in a variety of locations and never received such small portions. To add to it they forgot our fries. I call backed immediately to tell them and was told no problem! The said they wrote down my name and information to pick it up next day. The next day when I went to get it, no note was left. I had to wait over 20 minutes in the store with no A/C to get something I already paid for and had to go out of my way.
