Bonanza Bus Lines (now Peter Pan) have improved the years, they even renovated their depot. The Peter Pan bus depot is one of the most pleasant bus stations ever, with clean bathrooms, high tech schedules, a ticketing desk (tho currently discontinued due to COVID-19 concerns). It has a clean, well-arranged waiting area. One can do people-watching of folks on the Shining Sea Bike Path&gaze upon Beebe Woods. Bonanza/Peter Pan is (was?) popular for its cheap fares among MBL students. It's about $35 to go just about anywhere- Logan Airport, New Jersey, Providence (Rhode Island), Provincetown, Woods Hole. Bonanza/Peter Pan deserves some uplifting to their Yelp average, so I want to note here that their wifi service has become much more consistent over the past 1-2 years (the buses with the leather seats generally seem to be the best) and they have also belatedly vaulted in to the e-ticket age with fully functional smartphone capability and ticket readers. They do try to stay on schedule as much as possible, so it's worth being aware of their scheduled departure times, while also being willing to roll with the punches of timings, such as the possibility of arriving in Woods Hole -just- as a boat is leaving. (You'll be fine as long as it's not the LAST boat.) read more

The wifi does not work at all. Some of their routes are comfortable. Others are less due to bus being not of the same standards. But hey you do get from one point to the other ( with no luxary). That deserves a second star. read more

I've used Peter Pan many times to go to and from South Station because I connect with another bus that takes me to my university (normally 5 hours away from Falmouth). It is convenient, but wifi is always spotty so trying to do any kind of work online is nearly impossible. Ticket prices jack up during the summer time so it is becomes difficult to cough up $80 round trip and then another $80 for my connecting bus. My boyfriend for the July 4th weekend headed down to the Cape to visit me and, on his way back to Boston, was told him and other passengers could not board the bus because it was full. They had to wait another hour for a replacement bus and he had to risk missing his connecting bus even though he paid for his ticket months in advance. He did not have the pay a transfer fee (which is $15), but I have had to one time when my connecting bus was late. You should not have to do that if it is out of your control. It may be a convenient service and the people who work in the office and drive the buses are very polite, but I would avoid giving your money to this company. Very customer un-friendly. read more

I rode the Bonanza Bus Lines, AKA Peter Pan Bus Lines, to and from Woods Hole for a weekend trip. My experience was incredibly disappointing. My first complaint is that the website is terrible. There is absolutely no information about how the bus line works. It doesn't even clearly state where the bus goes- just a simple map showing each of the stops would be helpful. There are fees associated with reserving tickets online... so I just planned to get my ticket once I got on the bus (a friend told me I could do this). On the way to Woods Hole from the airport, the driver rushed everybody into the bus and no explanation was made as to how reserved seating works and when you can buy tickets. I would have liked to know in advance that if you buy your ticket on the bus, you must pay in cash. Also, they require that if you have a reserved ticket, it must be printed out (not just on a cell phone). As we worked our way to Woods Hole, the bus driver didn't announce any of the stops. I wasn't familiar with the area, so I had no idea when I should have gotten off of the bus (luckily my stop was the last). In the end, I got to Woods Hole 2 hours after my expected arrival time. On the way back, I had the meanest bus driver ever. Her attitude alone makes me wish I could give a 0/5 star rating on yelp. Ticket purchases on the way back must be made at the ferry station, as you cannot purchase them on the bus (why the change in policy in this direction? just to confuse travelers? to give the bus driver another reason to yell at her customers?). I highly recommend coughing up the extra dough to rent a car... or possibly even stealing a car and dealing with the consequences, rather than having to take this awful bus line. read more

Just because they claim that they have "Free Wi-Fi" on their buses, that doesn't mean you can access it! Traveled between Falmouth and Boston, round trip, and their was no wifi. The bus driver attempted to fix it by restarting the system, but that is it. He obviously was not trained how to fix it. When I filed a complaint about the loss of wages due to no wi-if, company claimed that since they didn't charge for wi-if, they aren't liable. ARRGH! read more

From Boston South Station to Woodshole, I was able to show my ticket on my phone to the bus driver. He took out a form which I filled out with my confirmation number and let me on. From Woodshole to Boston South Station, the bus driver did not allow me to use the confirmation number on my phone. She told me I had to email my ticket to Falmouth and get off for them to print it for me just so she would have a piece of paper to make the company happy. Awful experience! Clearly this company doesn't train their employees to provide any good level of customer service, especially if they tell the customer to their face that they're doing it to make the company happy. read more

my ticket said e-ticket. but then in small print it says i have to print it. i didn't see that (yes that's my fault). so i had to do it at the station. which was challenging. why don't you make all tickets electronic so that no paper will be wasted? please do that. it's good for the environment. you have many passengers, most of them have smartphone. they can easily have it on there phone to show as boarding pass. that would a be great improvement for this service. also the bus to boston through providence was fine. on-time and seats were comfortable. the bus back from boston was delayed and in providence the new bus had no leg room whatsoever. it was a tough ride back. the drivers are very good. polite and nice. read more

I take their bus travels every weekday to commute from Boston South Station to Kennedy Plaza, downtown Providence. If I buy a monthly pass, which is sold only at their Providence Terminal, it costs only $212, which is an extremely great deal. Ten and twenty rides are available both at Providence and South Station ticket counters for about $69 and $132, which are good deals, too. The WiFi service on this line is usually working fine these days. One thing to be careful is that taking this bus from Kennedy Plaza is tricky. The 5:15 bus from Kennedy Plaza is actually a Worcester bus, and I need to change buses at Providence Terminal. This is different for each bus travel during the day, and may change next time when the schedule changes, and depends on bus availability. Yesterday, that 5:15 bus never came. When something like that happens, I would call Peter Pan customer service (Bonanza is now Peter Pan), but nobody answers except an announcement that says office is closed:) The ticket counter lady at Kennedy Plaza does not know a bit about what's going on and told me a false fact that bus already left and I missed. I think she repeats something that would not cause any responsibility to her or the company but blame the passengers. If the monthly pass becomes available both at Kennedy Plaza and South Station, and this miscommunication or the lack of it can be resolved, this company may get 4 or 5 stars. read more

Extremely poor customer service. I used to use Peter Pan for years without any problems, but in the past few months I have had two horrible experiences and I will never use this company again. The first time I bought my ticket two days ahead of time and when I tried to get on in Bourne, the driver had already oversold the seats in woods hole and had no room for me. When I asked about reimbursement he yelled at me and told me it "wasn't HIS problem". Not only did I throw away $40, but I subsequently almost missed my flight at Logan. The second time, a week ago, the same driver arrived 30 minutes late and proceeded to yell at the waiting crowd of people because apparently we looked unhappy. He SCREAMED at a group in front of me because they did not speak English and he couldn't understand them, and when I confronted him about this he yelled at me too. Again. I can't believe how rude, disrespectful, and ignorant this person was. If it forced me to be someone who rants on yelp, then you know it had to be bad. I would much rather take the time to drive to Plymouth and get on the commuter rail, then spend 4x as much on a ticket that may or may not get me on the bus, while being harassed by the staff. This company is a scam, they think they can get away with whatever they want because they are the only transportation running this line, and it's ridiculous. read more

Such a poorly run company- with no incentive to change since they have a virtual monopoly over many of their routes. You must print your ticket ahead of time, or suffer the wrath of the company operators and/or bus drivers. You cannot change your ticket the day of- with the advent of the computer this shouldn't be a challenge for most companies but Peter Pan seems unwilling to accommodate their customers. I give it one star for low customer service. read more
