The staff is wonderful -- especially the older gentleman who helped me. His warm, friendly customer service really stood out. The Hangar restaurant is a nice touch, with views of planes taking off and even a quiet VIP‑style seating area. I took my first Cessna flight here, and the pilot made the ride smooth and enjoyable. We were in Boston before I knew it. Also, the lobster roll at the restaurant was fresh and delicious, with personable service all around. A charming airport with great people.

The line through TSA was super short when I got here for a flight. The agents were all super friendly. No lounges, just a lot of benches. It can go from super empty in here to super packed really quickly. Boarding and landing is outside in the elements. Good thing I came when the weather was dry. There are shuttle buses to downtown via the Nantucket Regional Transit Authority. It was free when I visited. Taxis and rideshare (lyft and uber) also available. Car rental through Hertz and Windmill close-by. Operated seasonally (spring through early fall). Airlines include: American, Jetblue, Delta, Cape Air.

Lots of new outdoor furniture which could be pretty cool when it warms up to have a drink out there and watch the planes land and take off. The menu was good.... pretty diverse for all taste buds. I had the great hill ribeye at $26. It was good. I asked for medium but it was well done. Still good. Small portion tho and was very fatty despite being pretty burnt on ends. The cool thing is you get soup or salad with an entree and two sides. That makes the 26 bucks worth it. Kale soup was AMAZING. The bread served was those crappy rolls and they were cold. But once in my soup tasted great ;) The other guest with me had the Cobb salad. The chicken portion was small and it had a lots of salad on a little plate. Given they are new all the little things that I thought they improved on seem to be part just opening. Hopeful with time they become five stars! My suggestion increase your protein portions, get better bread, and your customers to cut into steak when you bring it out.

First impression: Wow! This is a small airport!…read more But it serves its function well in getting you to & from Hyannis area. Just the right size for a small municipal airport. Everything is within a short walking distance. The ticketing & bag check counters are there as you enter the main door. Turn left and it's a short distance to car rental desks. Turn right and you walk past the Island Grill and, then, the TSA screening area. Very compact. No shuttles, long walks to the gates, crowded TSA screening lines. Thus, the usual two-hours prior to domestic flights boarding times advice can be modified to about one hour. The major downside of sorts for those used to big metro area airports is the airport's schedules. The car rental counters close at six pm or earlier. (I couldn't find options for after hours car pickup although after hours returns are possible. Check with the airport's rental counters directly before booking online.) Airline ticket counters might closed except for about an hour or two before boarding. No continuous round the clock bustling. The airport accommodations are limited. Except for the Island Grill, vending machines are the only other food & beverage options. Plenty of seats for waiting.

After a long travel day, dragging luggage that distance is definitely not ideal, so be prepared for a serious walk if you're renting a vehicle. Also... no Starbucks? Absolutely wild. For an airport, that honestly feels unbelievable. Sometimes travelers just want something familiar, quick, and dependable before or after a flight, and not having one was definitely noticed. The airport itself is currently under construction in some areas, but that had nothing to do with the rental car location or the lack of a Starbucks. Those were simply the biggest inconveniences of the experience for me personally. Other than that, the airport experience was decent enough, but definitely wear comfortable shoes and plan accordingly if you're renting a car.
