I was not in a good financial place and felt like I could get dismissed for being overqualified or slammed because I didn't formally make an appointment but they did goy me on board very quickly in the long term temporary assignment I'm still on now. My interactions with staff have always been professional and Jennifer herself has always made me feel like she had my back and supported me, something very people have done in my professional life. While there have been situations they can't control that have popped up in my assignment, Percy and other staff members have made me feel like they cared and took what I said seriously. They've also never been flaky on pay and made sure their workers get paid on time. I told them about a pending wage theft case for a substantial sum that I'm still dealing with and they have never, ever expected me to work for "maybe" money or put me off on that front. But what really makes them above and beyond is the fact that they sent me a New Year's gift card that I wasn't even expecting to thank me for my service. Many employers and contractors I worked with didn't do that. They are the only temp agency I've dealt who ever did that so if I knew someone who needed temps or someone who needed a job they had to fill, I'd refer them here in a heartbeat.

To say that he changed my life for the better is a severe understatement. I have recommended as many people as I could to see Regis. In this day and age it's hard to meet someone who has a rare mix of dedication and charisma. I would highly recommend Temporary Alternatives but more importantly, Regis Canning, if you want your life to change for the better.

Regis said I had the background for it. When I called on Monday morning, Regis said I got a phone interview for the next day. Everything happened pretty quickly. Even though the gig didn't work out (no fault on TempAlt's part), I will totally stay with TempAlts. They seem to know what works and doesn't. Totally cool.

He was incredibly communicative the entire time, always checking in, keeping me updated, and making sure I felt informed every step of the way. Beyond that, he was genuinely motivating and encouraging, which made a huge difference during what can be a pretty stressful process. It really felt like he was invested in helping me find the right role, not just any role. I also had the chance to work with Brandon and Maggi, who were both equally helpful and responsive. It was clear the whole team works closely together and truly cares about their candidates. Daisy Jimenez was such a delight to deal with. It was evident from the minute she coordinated the interview with me, and during the actual interview itself, that she's been doing this for a long time, and I've never felt so at ease while applying for a job. While she was the epitome of professional, I really felt as if I was talking to an old friend that I haven't seen as a while and not someone who was reviewing my resume to see if I was a fit for their available positions. Greg Bernhardt, who is one of the partners of the firm, met with me after my initial interview with Daisy, and he was equally as professional and personable. Once we had finished speaking with one another, he promptly made his way over to his desk, and started making phone calls on my behalf. Half an hour after I left their office, I had a request for a zoom interview for this upcoming Friday. Last but not least, Babien Avila, had such a fantastic energy about her, and although she didn't interview me, she kept checking on me while I was waiting to be seen and after I told her I was hungry, she went out of her way to get me some food as well as a much needed cup of coffee. While I was there, it was very clear that despite being a small firm, they were a very tight knit group, who worked efficiently together, while still being able to find time to laugh and smile with one another. The last time I walked into a corporate office, the misery was palpable and you didn't feel welcome at all. If you have the opportunity to work with AscendHire for your employment needs, don't think twice. Thank you all so much for your help!

Following the interview, I spoke to Scott who said an hour-long meeting sounded promising as she didn't usually meet with candidates for that long unless she was very interested. He helped me craft a thank you note and said he'd get feedback from the Client and get back to me. Cut to: never heard from him again. It was a basic ghosting situation--when I called the next day to follow up, I was told he was in a meeting, and that was that. Advice to this recruiter: I know it's just a numbers game for you--as soon as a Client passes, we are dead to you. However, we prep and prepare and take interviews seriously, giving our best shot to each and every opportunity. Show us the same respect we show you when we interview and represent your agency as best we can. Show us the basic courtesy of picking up the phone and making one call--it's what--a minute out of your day?--to simply let us know that for whatever reason, the Client has decided to pass. Maybe even offer some constructive criticism or feedback we can learn from for next time. Act like a professional.
