The ultimate hotpot of them all. Considering the veggies, meat, seafood, variety of the sides and sauce to the price. Bon Shabu beats Haidilao by miles. I have there for the lunch weekday special for 3 times. The employees are very patience and service for the meat is super fast. The restaurant has a big space. Almost like a dining hall with a very long self serve bar!

My new favorite place... this is like a combination of Japanese, Chinese, and Korean food. It's really hard to find a place that has organic broth, but this place had it and it was delicious. I thought the service was good (granted we came late afternoon on a Thursday), and our waiter came at the end with his kettle for more broth. I love the atmosphere. It was very modern and spacious. I went here with my husband and our six year-old (half off!). We all have very different tastes but we all got what we wanted. I thought the fried food at the buffet was a little overcooked, but there is some very tasty options! Kimchi was saucy and delicious! It's very affordable at $40 an adult. They had signs out for some dessert, but it wasn't there. Can't wait to return very soon!

Went with some friends to try hot pot for the first time. The selection was really nice! We had the two of the house brothers, one spicy, and one bone broth. It was cool being able to create our own toppings and flavors and there was plenty to choose from. The place was clean and organized. We did not really have staff support until it was time to get the check. I do think overall it is pretty pricey, but definitely enjoyed the experience.

This place was really good! We've been trying out different shabu spots, and this is definitely one of the good places. The service was great and parking was easy with validation. They have a nice variety of vegetables and seafood, all fresh and well stocked. I'd recommend this spot if you're looking for a solid shabu place -- we'll definitely be back.

My friend suggested we meet here after seeing a TikTok reel about it. I love Shabu Shabu so I didn't hesitate! Parking tip is to park directly behind the restaurant in the structure so you can enter from their back doors. Don't let the parking rates scare you as they did for me lol, they offer a generous 3 hour validation where you only end up paying about $1.99! Take note of your license plate number if it isn't already on file with Metropolis parking. The place is pretty big and looks really nice. Nice selection of meats to choose from and the buffet area has lots of cooked options as well as cook yourself in the broth at your table. You can choose two different broths to cook with. We ate our hearts out and didn't save any room for their desserts. Service was quick and efficient especially when we were running low of meat and water. Would definitely visit again.

Pretty good hot pot for an affordable price! They have delicious broths, but beware of the spicy options because they are super spicy! You can taste the quality of the meat and there were wagyu options. We had the original spicy and beef spicy broth. The beef broth was surprisingly much spicier than the original spicy. There was a self serve vegetable, sides, and sauce area. They had seafood options available too. The hot sides were pretty good (about 8 options to choose from). I like all of the veggies they had, but something they did not have was squash! :( The downside of Koreatown is the parking. It was a bit difficult to find parking for a Wednesday evening. Service was good. They took our order and brought out the broths quickly. It's a pretty spacious hot pot restaurant. You can reserve online prior to arrival.

Great food, good deals with the drinks, and big space. No complaints with service (I was a bit worried seeing all the reviews) but I came on a weekend afternoon and it wasn't packed. You order protein from your phone and grab everything else from the bar. There is parking validation if you eat here!

Great good and great service. Love being able to select my own meats, veggies, noodles, toppings, spices and sauces. Clean place and quick staff.

I went to Bon Shabu with my family yesterday for dinner on Friday evening, October 10. We heard they were having a 10th anniversary special price promotion until October 10, so we decided to check it out. The staff kept bringing us more meat whenever we asked, and there was also a buffet area where we could help ourselves to salad, fried dumplings, chicken, desserts, sauces, dressings, and seafood -- lots of variety, which I really liked. From the dessert section, the sesame mochi bread was my favorite -- I ate quite a few of them! It was also interesting that the meat menu listed the fat level of each cut. Some meats were very tasty, while a few were a bit tough. I chose the Organic Bone broth for my soup base, and it was rich and flavorful. Overall, except for a few slightly tough pieces of meat, everything was good -- friendly service, spacious seating, and a wide selection of salads and other dishes. I liked it a lot and would definitely go back again.

I came here twice during their 10th anniversary event, including Tuesday night in the Valley with my mom and family. The wagyu meat itself was good, and considering the anniversary pricing, it felt reasonable. However, the side dish corner (bulgogi, japchae, tangsuyuk, tteokbokki, etc.) was a complete disappointment. Everything was dry, hard, and looked like it had been sitting out forever. The tteokbokki especially looked dried out and unappetizing. This was the section I was most looking forward to, but instead it was embarrassing--especially since I had my mom and family with me, and there were many foreign guests around watching the sad state of the food. They said items were being remade, but with only one person working, nothing was really replenished. My mom didn't even touch the side dishes and said this visit was enough for her. Yes, they do offer rice paper (though no glass noodles), and a kids' dinner price of $21 for ages 8-10. That part was nice for us since we have two kids--at other places we usually have to pay full adult price for them. Parking is validated for 3 hours at $1.99, which is convenient. Overall, the wagyu quality and anniversary pricing were good, and the kids' pricing made it family-friendly. But the side dish bar was very disappointing. Next time, if I come back, I'd want to check the bar first before deciding to eat here.

Organic Beef Bone (Extreme Spicy) and Sukiyaki broths
Chloe K.

The wide selection of sides and toppings were great and the area was kept clean and filled, even on a busy days (I went on Thanksgiving and Valentines). Service is quick and the servers are friendly. The atmosphere and vibes of the restaurant is modern, warm lighting, and clean which makes it a cute dinner/date spot. The Organic Beef Bone (Extreme Spicy) is VERY VERY SPICY so don't take the "Extreme" lightly. I unfortunately could not enjoy this broth at all and was told it is not possible to get a broth replaced. However, the server did add more non-spicy broth to make it less spicy. It didn't help much though as they use habanero for the spice. My second visit here, I ordered the Organic Beef Bone (regular, no spice) and this broth had absolutely no flavor. Very bland and tasted just like hot water. Once again, the broths were not able to get replaced and the server suggested I season it myself with the seasonings at the bar. With the seasonings I added, I was able to enjoy this broth a little more. The Sukiyaki broth was tasty both times. Overall, the food was good but the failure of the Organic Beef Bone broth twice was a bit of a dissapointment and left me feeling unsatisfied.

Hot food and soup bases

A bit costly for the experience but might be more worth it for a lunch trip. Good selection, decent hot food, and a huge space good for large groups. The servers are a little sparse once you're seated so you might need to flag someone if you need help. Overall okay for a night out but maybe not the stunner you're looking for.

Jessica Y.

So good! Love the assortment of meats and different foods you can add to the pot. I was surprised to see some extras on the side at the buffet like fried chicken and chapchae. They weren't the best but that's expected since it is a hotpot restaurant. They had a few small cakes and donuts for dessert as well as the sesame balls. AYCE makes it all pretty easy too without having to worry about how much you're spending. Parking lot in the back as well. Will be coming back! Food: 9/10 Service: 9/10 Ambience: 9/10

Parking direction? Street parking or garage provide validation

There is a parking lot with ticketless entry/payment. I believe they validate at Bon Shabu but if you're only there for an hour or two after 5p, price is not too bad.

Can two people share one hot pot? Bot my friend and I are not big eaters and eat less than half an entree at any restaurant.

No, it's a per person price model currently.

Can someone with a peanut allergy eat here?

I believe they would be. There are a few different options on broths, and the salad bar has several options. *Disclaimer- I'm not 100% sure tho*

Solo eat available?

Yes absolutely!

Where can I see your 15.99 hot item lunch buffet items you have advertised on TikTok?

On their website when you click the "Menu/price" section the buffet items come up when you scroll down a little under the "hot" items. They tend to add new items too.

Can you also just have kkbq?

No they offer shabu shabu and a hot bar buffet not kbbq

What is included with the signature selection during lunch? When I went it wasn't clear if we could have the seafood, prepared food, or the desserts

You can always help yourself to the items at the buffet, regardless of the selection you pick. That's part of the magic of this place!

How much would it cost for 3-4 people?

Around 280 total

Is it true that if it's someone's birthday that day and we show ID for proof, the dinner is free?

Yes but there are requirements to this. Read more here: https://www.bonshabula.com/contact-7

Where do u park?

There's a parking structure behind the plaza and there's a rear entrance into the restaurant. Don't forget to get validation!

What are the gluten-free options?

Everything else that doesn't contain gluten

Do they serve rice?

yes

Is it minimum of 2 people or 1 person dining is okay?

They allow solo dining. Called to confirm.

Does each person get their own broth?

I would say yes. Our group has 6 people in total. We had 3 pots and each pot had 2 different soup.

Opening in 1998, Paradise Chinese Buffet in Montebello is the original of the four Paradise brands…read morein the LA area. This location was recently named one of three LA area buffets in the top 150 in the country, based on Google reviews. I've been to a lot of buffets (Chinese and otherwise), and this was near the top, especially based on the price. We came about 30 minutes after its 11 am opening, and the place was already packed with a line waiting to get in. You pay first, getting water and soda cups at checkout (plates are plentiful near the buffet itself). Emmelyn was the check-in associate, and she was joyful and friendly, putting a smile on my wife's face after a stressful drive through LA traffic. We found out that my wife's lunch was free because it was her birthday. Lunch pricing is $15.19 (M-F), minus $1 for seniors and military. Refillable soda is $2.99. It's find your own seating, and we grabbed the first seats we could find. -- being super crowded meant the food was constantly being replenished and kept fresh. It also meant a lot of line (inadvertent) line cutting and careful, slow movements...need to be careful for sure. -- the taste of the food was good, mainly because most things were turning over quickly. However, the selection of dishes wasn't huge, and the soups didn't look too good. -- I focused on the sushi and was satisfied. They had different type simple rolls and nigiri, with soy sauce at each table. They also had a bottle of eel sauce to douse your rolls with more, if you want. Towards the end, discovered a New Zealand green mussel dish in a hot chili sauce, which I took full advantage of. -- the must get is the Mongolian Grill, which dominates the center of the restaurant. There were three types of sliced frozen meat (beef, chicken, pork), a variety of vegetables (including my favorite, baby corn), and various runny sauces that you pour on top when done. Once your bowl is complete, you need to give it to the operator. But here its a bit different: it operates on a unique system that I've only seen here. In the front counter, there are 20 spots where numbered pager sits. Once a person fills up a bowl with raw ingredients, they place it on the next available pager spot, taking the pager with them. Once the food is cooked, the pager goes off. You then exchange the bowl in your spot, with the pager...and the cycle continues. I asked myself what would happen if all 20 pagers were taken, and decided if that happened, you would have to wait since there would be no more space on the grill for your plate anyway. The system worked really well, with all three of us taking advantage of it. Taste wise, I've had better but certainly not for that price. And I just love the efficiency of it all. -- soft serve ice cream was available, and it was very thick and creamy (though a bit off in taste). My wife also mentioned that you can get cotton candy as well. -- Service was good, with an employee in a hostess outfit personally letting us know that she was there to assist us, including getting drinks. She did clear dishes when necessary, but also seemed to be supervising our section. What's interesting is that the same report mentioned King Buffet in Garden Grove, which now seems to be another branch of the Paradise chain. So need to be leery of such reports not being current...but in this case, following its suggestion paid off.

In previous visits to this restaurant, I noticed other diners being offered coffee or tea as closing time approached, even receiving those hot beverages in "to go" cups since it was near closing. I've dined here about 5 times over the years, and I had never been offered a coffee or tea toward the end of dinner, and certainly not "to go." Seeing other diners with coffee and tea on my last visit, I asked my server at the end of the night, and I was told the hot beverage station was already closed for the night. Michael was the first to offer me coffee or tea, and I requested a "to go" cup, which he brought. Through dinner, he watched my Diet Coke and brought a refill even without my having to ask. The busboys replaced used silverware, which has also never happened for me here. They were quick to remove used dishes and seafood shell trays. I know these services seem basic, but I usually do not receive good service at buffets, so it's worth highlighting. Michael's service was by far the best, most personable, and most thoughtful service I've had at this restaurant. He is a real standout. This seafood buffet is unique in Los Angeles, as other hotel buffets closed in the COVID Era. I'm happy this one is still around to give a taste of a small-scale Vegas-style buffet. Yes, the price is really high, and the food is not perfect, but it's a buffet. You can't expect perfection at a buffet. Though the lobster was nowhere near as impressive as fresh lobster in Maine, it was fresher and less dried out than the lobster I've had at buffets in Vegas (Caesars Palace, Wynn). The crab was very good, and I also recommend the top notch mashed potatoes and very solid pork belly (there are two varieties) and prime rib. Also this buffet is a great place to get your fill of oysters on the half shell. Oddly, they've started closing down the ice cream station before dinner time is over on my last two visits. Given the high price, I don't think the food is good enough to come multiple times a year, but every once in a while, it's a fun experience, especially with a server like Michael. Cafe Sierra remains a reliable stop in LA, and I hope it continues to stick around.

One thing that felt a little awkward was the service setup. There didn't really seem to be servers inside, and you pay when you leave, so I wasn't completely sure how much tip made sense. I noticed they even had a 10% tip option, so I'm guessing they know the setup can feel a little unclear. The food overall was clean and decent. It felt like they had pretty much everything you would expect from an American-style Mediterranean/Middle Eastern buffet.
