No one came to ask for our broths or take our order for quite a while. When I politely asked a server if we could order, he let out a deep sigh, rolled his eyes, and told me to "hold on." He then immediately turned back around and asked us to order but made zero eye contact. The moment we said our broth choices, he sped off without acknowledging us at all, like we had somehow annoyed him just by asking. To make things worse, the table was set with almost nothing. We were given only a bowl and spoon--no chopsticks, no ladle, nothing we could actually use to cook or eat our hotpot with. We had to hunt someone down just to get basic utensils. The restaurant also wasn't busy, which made the whole situation even more confusing. Most of the experience is self-serve anyway, but the servers are usually nowhere to be found. You basically have to catch them while they're speed-walking past to drop something off at another table. At one point we asked for a Coke and the server rushed past, slammed it on the table, and walked away without even looking at us--almost like he didn't want to risk us asking for anything else. The service honestly feels like DMV-level customer service--cold, dismissive, and like you're bothering them just by existing. What's frustrating is that this isn't just a one-time experience or one rude server. It has been like this every single time we've gone, and each time it's a different person with the same attitude. It's honestly a shame because the food itself is good. But when every interaction feels like you're inconveniencing the staff just by being there, it's hard to justify coming back. My new favorite place... this is like a combination of Japanese, Chinese, and Korean food. It's really hard to find a place that has organic broth, but this place had it and it was delicious. I thought the service was good (granted we came late afternoon on a Thursday), and our waiter came at the end with his kettle for more broth. I love the atmosphere. It was very modern and spacious. The wagyu meat itself was good, and considering the anniversary pricing, it felt reasonable. They said items were being remade, but with only one person working, nothing was really replenished. My mom didn't even touch the side dishes and said this visit was enough for her. Yes, they do offer rice paper (though no glass noodles), and a kids' dinner price of $21 for ages 8-10. That part was nice for us since we have two kids--at other places we usually have to pay full adult price for them. Parking is validated for 3 hours at $1.99, which is convenient. Overall, the wagyu quality and anniversary pricing were good, and the kids' pricing made it family-friendly. But the side dish bar was very disappointing. My family and I went here on New Year's Day and there were no signage stating that holidays would be priced differently. They only noted it on their instagram but there was absolutely nothing in person. Of course, we weren't aware of holiday pricing and weren't made aware before we started to eat. When the bill came we were shocked to see we were billed much more than expected. Only then did they notify us that they charge dinner pricing on holidays. If we had more time, I think we would've thoroughly enjoyed our time here. So I would try to come here again if I can. The price for two adult dinner signature selection is roughly $42 (though, at our recent visit it was $39 because of their anniversary special) each, plus tax. Children under 3 eat for free. They implemented touch screen pads to order food and drinks from your table, which streamlined the experience and seemed to ease the burden on the amazing staff! We placed our broth and meat order, then head straight to the self-service bar to grab our veggies, noods, rice and sauces (they have a seafood bar, but that's extra). After dinner, we go back to the dessert bar, and the toddler gets his fill of mini-cakes, while the adults digest and learn to breath again.
