Had the Vietnamese Lemongrass Chicken over rice. Very well marinated grilled chicken. Most of the flavor is sweet with a slight hint of lemongrass. Rice has a lot of sauce from the meat. Also had a small side of salad with delish dressing.

Looks decent, but is actually terrible. Chicken is so crazy dry, sauce was so salty.

Rare that I give 1 star to a place, but this was truly awful. If this was at a restaurant, I would have sent it back. I had the Korean bbq chicken, which came out to $23. Its noted as "Most Popular"...but it was probably the most overcooked chicken I have ever eaten. No joke, the chicken was so dry and chewy. Usually when people say "it was like jerky!" there is some hyperbole to it, but this literally resembled jerky. Several pieces I just could not chew. The grill marks tasted like burnt rubber. The sauce was awful too. It was sooo salty and overpowering, and it was drenched in it. The garlic noodles might have been decent, I don't know. All I could taste was the incredibly salty sauce on it. The best thing on the plate was the salad. The only positive was that it was quick, as there was zero line. Other trucks had lines of 5-20 people, this one had zero line (which is a reason I picked it). By the time I finished giving my money, my food was ready to go. Honestly, most food trucks are so overrated and overpriced. Years ago they may have been a convenient meal on the go, but now its become a trendy foodie thing. But $23 for salty rubber chicken...I think I might be done with food trucks (besides Golden Gate Gyro, their food is great).

Teriyaki Chicken with Rice and Noodles

I first discovered Bombzies BBQ at an Off The Grid market a few years ago before COVID-19 hit. Their food is amazing. A big proportion with rice and noodles. The service at Bombzies is amazing! They help you decide what to order. They'll help you decide which food is their best selling. Their truck is presentable. The menu is detail on what is in the food. Recently when I had Bombzies at a Taste of the World market I had the Teriyaki Chicken with half rice and half noodles. It was a good proportion of chicken with half rice and half noodles. I was able to share my food with my mom. She loved the taste of the chicken. If you see Bombzies in the Bay Area I suggest having them for lunch and dinner.

Food truck came to our work for an event last week. We each got to pick one entree. I chose the lemongrass chicken. Food came out really fast. Food was decent but not somewhere I'd crave. I hardly tasted lemongrass. It was either very light or maybe they gave me the wrong entree. It's a well balanced meal for on the go. The curry option looked more promising.

Tried the BBQ rice bowl with garlic noodles and chicken -- super fresh and full of flavor. Highly recommend!

I had the BBQ rice bowl with garlic noodles and grilled chicken. Super tasty, fresh, and filling! Great service and awesome flavors. Definitely recommend trying it!

Showed up to off the grid and this place happed to be around. I got in line, ordered the coconut curry chicken, you have the option to order it with rice or with noodles. Staff is cool and efficient, most of the food is pre cooked in a warming chamber, so the dish was given almost immediately. They also offer rangoons and wings as sides. I would recommend yes or yes.

Had this food for the 1st time today, they came by my work (Sutter Health). The food is AMAZING! My picky 9 year old son who doesn't like to try anything new tried the bbq chicken & garlic noodles & enjoyed it so much he was angry I don't bring more hm!!!

Seriously delicious. We had Bombzies at our outdoor concert and the food was super fresh, fast and such kind service. I got the teriyaki chicken & garlic noodles with kimchi - so good!

I've been a Bombzies patron for a few years now and I am generally delighted to see their truck arrive in our business park. I typically go for the Korean BBQ Rice Bowl but the real money-maker is the potsticker side plate. These are some of my FAVORITE potstickers anywhere (the secret is in their crunch). The service here is great; they'll have your food out to you before you're done paying (with the exception of my beloved potstickers because those bad boys have to fry). Give them a try!

Korean bbq bowl is a must. The chicken is so tender and flavorful, the kimchi gives the bowl an amazing touch.

I normally go to the picnic at the presidio on Sundays to get my Bombzies fix I love the Korean chicken bowl with extra kimchi The chicken is delicious, cooked just right. I wish they had a restaurant, I know I would be there all the time

Didn't feel packed at all. I enjoyed the candied bacon, it was one of my favorites when I came the first time and still tastes good as I remember. I ordered the KF chicken and waffles, the chicken was okay but I think it was overly cooked because it was a tad try once I bit into it. My bf got the omurice and he said it was good and filling. I am not a big fan on poutine, my bf said it was good and that the tater tots held their crispiness even after being mixed with the sauce and egg.

The Roti Dip was OUT OF THIS WORLD (6/5). It exceeded my expectations. The Roti was very soft and crispy and the dip had an amazing coconut/herby taste. The waiter saw how much we loved the dip and brought us another one to use for our rice. Big shout out to her! The chicken wings were okay. Not that spicy for me (I have a high spice tolerance) but I expected them to be more savory. They were cooked very well though. I would give it a 3/5 Unfortunately, I was pretty disappointed with my main which was the crispy whole dried fish. I am a sucker for whole fish dishes so I was pretty excited and expectant for something spectacular. The fish itself was bland. It was very crispy and cooked well but not really seasoned. I had thought the sauce they serve with it was intended to impart flavor on the fish, but the sauce was just very tangy and not flavorful. I did finish the fish though but it's not something I would get again. Overall a 2.5/5. Their coconut rice was good though I was expecting more of a coconut flavor with it. I would rate that a 4/5. It was cooked very well. I think this is a really nice place though, perhaps I just did not order the right or more popular dishes. I'll be coming back for the ROTI WITH DIP (It was that good) and to try the other items in their menu.

The bread pudding did not travel well, and separated like an over cooked cobbler, but the chocolate yuzu cake was a hit for breakfast the next morning. Funny that I never knew about this restaurant even though I come to Oakland Chinatown quite often. Thanks to Victor G again. He certainly knows where to dine all over the Bay Area. I walk in and a gentleman hands me the menu for perusing. They have happy hours Wednesday through Saturday, 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM; weekend on Friday and Saturday, 8:30 PM to close at 9:30 PM. If one chooses to dine at Saucy, be there at least 15 minutes before they close for the evening. After perusing the menu, I decided to order their saucy wings and a large order of garlic noodles. The wings look delicious, seasoned with a glaze. The garlic noodles are on point. The ambiance is quite nice, especially the floral wall, the hanging plants overhead and the planter box by the entrance. Based on my observation, the seating capacity is a guesstimate of 25 people. Street parking can be problematic during the day. Not sure what street parking is like in the evening. Return visit? Yes, most likely for my birthday dinner next month.

The restaurant is really big and we sat at a table for 14 pretty comfortably. We were also here on a Saturday night and the restaurant was full. The service is your typical Chinese restaurant vibe where you leave a little bit emotionally abused after paying for overly priced menu items. We did the à la cart and easily spent up to $1500. Better off with the family plan meal but nothing was of interest to us except one or two dishes. It took forever to come out and I mean FOREVER to a point where we almost cancelled a few dishes and called it a night, but they kept saying it's being made. With as many people and as massive as the restaurant was, and the price tags, I was expecting a more efficient service. A couple of times we saw our dish being brought to the wrong table and the people going "oh we didn't order this." With all of that out of the way, I am giving them an average score of 3 starts because the food did bring them back up. It was actually really good. My favorite of all things we ordered was their sea bass with string beans. The sea bass was fried crispy, garnished salty and still soft inside. It paired really well with the string beans. We ordered a bunch of other things that I couldn't tell you what the name was in English and they were above average taste wise. Their complimentary dessert however, was mass produced and tasted like they added too much water to it. This was the only one I was disappointed in. I still say this place is extremely overpriced but for a family meal experience and if you ever want to impress a date, why not.

I have been super excited to try hawking bird, and it did not disappoint. We got the satay chicken salad, curry fried chicken rice bowl, pickles, and the calamansi soda. Satay chicken salad -- very fresh and flavorful. the grilled chicken was very well marinated, and had lots of flavor. It came with a vinaigrette and a yummy peanut dipping sauce on the side. We thought it could use a little more greens, as the portion felt somewhat small. Curry fried chicken bowl -- this was our favorite thing that we got! The curry was flavorful and there was the perfect amount of it over the chicken and rice. There was a healthy portion of fried chicken and rice, which we appreciated. The chicken itself was super crispy and yummy. All of the components went very well together, and we really loved this one! Pickles -- this was just okay to me. the pickled vegetables consisted of assorted veggies including green beans, peppers, and cabbage. The veggies had a slight sweetness to them, but also were spicy! Not my favorite, but still pretty good. Calamansi soda -- honorable mention because I love calamansi and was so excited to see that they had this as an option! If you are a calamansi lover, you definitely enjoy this. it was crisp, refreshing, and had an authentic calamansi flavor. I'd definitely get it again! Overall, we really enjoyed our meal! The bar itself is long and narrow, decorated with paper dragons. Really liked how we could just walk in at 10pm on a Saturday and get a seat without having to make a reservation, like we need to do in SF or NYC. The menu looked amazing so the two of us tried : * Tomato Beef (4 stars, $17): I was super looking forward to this since I adore savory drinks. While tasty, it was a disappointment since there was zero beef flavor, it tasted like a decent clarified tomato cocktail - which is pretty popular in cocktail circles these days. Good but I wouldn't order again unless they added some hint of beefiness (which pho cocktails often do well). * White Rabbit (4.5 stars, $17): the condensed milk gave this drink that sweet creaminess associated with White Rabbit candy, and paired nicely with the oolong tea base. * Tom Yum Takeout (4.5 stars, $19): served in a cute takeout container glass, I liked how forward the lemongrass and galangal flavors were, along with the hint of spiciness. * Li Hing Ramos (4.5 stars, $19): my favorite of the drinks we tried that night, though I wish they did a rim of li hing powder. Very respectable foam on a refreshing salted plum cocktail. From the popup we tried : * Tofu Salad (5 stars): Their most interesting cocktail and it's not even on their current menu. Very similar to the Cold Noodle drinks but with more of that tofu water flavor. * Guava Island (4.5 stars): very solid and enjoyable fruity cocktail that's an easy drink. Nothing challenging, relatively straightforward except that the addition of cocoa powder gave it a bit of interest which elevated it from 4 stars.
